Chapter 101
Reborn Before The Divorce
âLetâs go, letâs go home.â She pushed Jesseâs wheelchair.
Vergil watched and became more and more confused. Did Nydia really have a change of heart? Was she being nice to her husband now? But he remained cautious and kept an eye on Nydia, afraid that she would cause trouble when he wasnât paying attention. Such incidents had happened before, so he couldnât let his guard down.
Jesse got into the car and the wheelchair was put in the trunk. Nydia sat beside Jesse.
She casually touched Jesseâs forehead, but he grabbed her hand and pulled it away.
âWhat are you doing? Is your forehead made of gold and canât be touched? Youâre getting all heated up.â
Vergil almost laughed out loud, but he held it in. He couldnât laugh.
âVergil, did you check Bossâs temperature? Youâre just going to let him burn up like this? Are you planning a coup?â
âNo, no, Iâm not thinking that way.â
Vergil was startled. How did it turn into a coup? Nydiaâs words were too sharp today. âI checked and itâs 38. 9 degrees Celsius.â
âOh, so itâs not a fever unless itâs over 39 degrees Celsius?â
ââ¦â Enough, Madame, I was wrong! Even if I have to tie Boss up, Iâll take him to the hospital!
âOkay, I know my own body.â Jesse said coldly.
Nydia snorted, âYou know nothing!â
The car suddenly spun out, and Nydia bumped into Jesseâs arms. Her nose hurt from the impact.
âBoss, Iâm sorry!â Vergil immediately stabilized the car, silently praying in his heart: I canât hear anything, I canât hear anything.
âDrive carefully!â Jesse sat back down, his face gloomy.
âNydia, you really want to stage a coup, donât you?â Nydia rubbed her nose.
âI donât! Donât say that!â
Returning to the Pascall Villa, Vergil breathed a sigh of relief, glad that they had arrived safely. He had been on edge throughout the entire journey.
Watching Nydia and Jesse, Vergil couldnât help but wonder if his wife was planning to get rid of him from Bossâs side. Without a trusted confidant, wouldnât Boss be at Nydiaâs mercy? The more he thought about it, the more anxious he became. He realized that he needed to be more careful and not give Nydia any reason to doubt him, or else Boss would be in danger.
Nydia checked Jesseâs temperature. âItâs already 39 degrees. Letâs go to the hospital.â
âIâm not going,â he refused coldly.
âWhat if your fever affects your brain? What about the big company? Tavish is still young and canât take over.â
â⦠Whatâs going on with this woman today?â Jesse thought.
âThen letâs call Vincent.â
âIâm not calling him.â
â⦠Is she throwing a tantrum?â Jesse had already maneuvered his wheelchair to his room, and Nydia rushed after him. When Jesse was about to close the door, Nydia blocked it.
Their eyes met, and Nydia saw the red blood vessels in Jesseâs eyes, as well as his exhausted but determined look. Her heart softened.
She squatted down and coaxed him softly, âIf youâre not going to the hospital or calling Vincent, can we at least take some fever-reducing medicine? Letâs take some medicine, okay?â
