Hello, readers literally I was blushing while writing it and this is one of my fav chapððð
********
Kavin knelt and showed her the coffee in which it was written I love you!
She was shocked and awestruck looking down at his face and suddenly she looked around the cafe where some of the lovers and the people clapping and cheering Kavin.
What's happening here? Why are they cheering? Is this dream or real? She looked so confused
It's real! And I can't wait anymore.. I have to say this and I know you are interested in me. Aren't you?
Will u accept this coffee? Dear?
Her hands reached to the coffee cup and her mind shifted back to the memories and his flirting. Her left hand stopped in the air and she patted his shoulder to get up.
He shook his head negatively. Please accept this, my dear! I will make sure you won't regret your decision to choose me and accept my proposal! I want to be in your happiness and sorrows.! I want to be your protector, your well-wisher, your confidante, and... if you accept me! I can be your boyfriend. I know I can be irritating you with my smooth talking skills but.. I'm sure I won't make you regret taking this cup or accepting my proposal. Can I be your boyfriend? It's my honour to have you in my life. I have thought many times before I choose to propose to you. So.. I..Love..You..my beautiful coach!
Yazhini's heart raced as she looked into Kavin's sincere eyes. The vulnerability in his voice and the way he confessed melted her usual guarded demeanour. The coffee cup in her hand felt heavier than it should, as though it carried the weight of his love and expectations.
She sighed softly, looking down at the steaming drink that held the words, I love you!
"Kavin..." she began, her voice trembling slightly, "this is unexpected. You've always been this carefree, fun-loving guy, but now, here you are, saying all these things that make me wonder... Are you really serious?
Yes! I'm serious! Don't you understand? (his voice is deep and velvety)
She felt a shiver on her skin which made goose bumps. She parted her lips to answer closed her eyes and took a deep breath her lips wobbled to form the words that were screaming in her mind but she couldn't speak.
Yazhini smiled softly, trying to mask the mix of emotions swirling inside her. She sipped the coffee, her cheeks warming as she tasted the sweet yet bold flavour. It was as if the cup reflected Kavin himself-playful on the surface but with a surprising depth that lingered.
Kavin knows her as he reads her mind with her look he looked how her eyes flicked from the coffee to his face and a sweat formed on her forehead. So he smiled and stood up, brushing off his knees, his excitement barely contained. "So, does this mean I get a free pass from extra burpees tomorrow?" he teased, his trademark grin returning.
Yazhini rolled her eyes, though her lips curved into a smile. "Don't push your luck, Kavin. If anything, I might double them."
"Oh, come on! A guy pours his heart out, and this is the thanks he gets?" He pretended to pout, making a few people around them chuckle.
But then his expression turned serious again, his gaze locking onto hers. "Yazhini," he said, his voice low and earnest, "thank you... for not rejecting me outright. I know this isn't easy, and I promise I'll be patient. You're worth waiting for."I'm not forcing you. I can understand. You are surprised and you are feeling overwhelmed. I will prove my best
Her heart skipped a beat at the sincerity in his words. She nodded, setting the cup down on the table. "I appreciate that, Kavin. But you have to understand, this isn't just about you and me. If I decide to take this further, it'll mean opening up a part of my life I've kept private for a reason. Are you ready for that?"
Kavin stepped closer, his voice steady. "I'm ready for anything, as long as it's with you. I don't care how long it takes or how hard it gets. I'll prove to you that I'm not just some guy with smooth lines. I mean every word I said."
Yazhini searched his face for any sign of hesitation, but all she saw was determination. For the first time in a long while, she felt a flicker of something she'd buried deep-hope.
"Kavin," she said softly, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside her, "you've always been bold, and I admire that about you. But this... this is different. I don't want you to think it's something I'll decide lightly."
"I wouldn't expect you to," Kavin replied immediately, his tone gentle. "I know how much your career and your independence mean to you, and I'd never want to get in the way of that. All I'm asking for is a chance to show you how much you mean to me."
"You say all these things," she said, a faint smile playing on her lips, "but you're forgetting that relationships come with expectations and responsibilities. What if I have fears or boundaries you can't handle? What if you find out I'm not as perfect as you imagine?"
Kavin's expression softened as he reached out and gently touched the edge of the coffee cup she'd set down. "Yazhini, perfection doesn't exist. I don't want perfection. I want you. The real you, with all your fears, boundaries, and quirks. And if there's anything I can't handle, I'll work to grow and be better. That's what love is, isn't it? Supporting each other, even when things aren't easy."
"I don't know what to say," she admitted after a pause, her voice barely above a whisper.
"You don't have to say anything now," Kavin assured her, his smile returning. "Just give me a chance to prove myself.
You already proved enough! She hugged him and he froze. And he slowly hugged her back and caressed her back in a soothing way. He felt she was crying on his shoulder.
She pulled back a little and looked directly into his eyes and cupped his cheek her slender and long fingers brushing his ear.
He bit his lip to stop the groan and closed his eyes and he opened his eyes just to get shocked as he saw the love in her eyes.
C-coach! What are you doing huh?
I
Kavin's heartbeat fastened and he was barely breathing.
Love
Kavin's lips curved into a smile
You
I love you Mr. Smooth Talker! Will be be my soulmate?
Kavin stood frozen for a moment, unable to process the words that had just spilt from Yazhini's lips. His mind raced, replaying her confession over and over again as though trying to confirm it was real.
"Wait... what?" he finally stammered, his voice breaking the silence. "Did you just-did you actually say you love me?"
Yazhini laughed softly, her cheeks flushing a deep pink as she dropped her hands from his face. "Yes, Kavin," she said, her voice steady despite the shyness in her tone. "I love you. I've tried to fight it, to convince myself that I couldn't fall for someone like you so carefree, so... persistent. But you've shown me something I wasn't expecting.
Kavin's grin widened, and his eyes lit up with pure joy. "Coach, you don't know what this means to me. I swear I'll spend every day proving that you made the right choice."
Yazhini raised a brow, a teasing smile tugging at her lips. "You'd better. Because if you slack off, those extra burpees are going to turn into a full workout."
"Deal," Kavin said, his voice brimming with excitement. He pulled her into another hug, lifting her off the ground slightly as the cafe erupted into cheers once more.
Yazhini gasped, playfully hitting his shoulder. "Kavin, put me down! People are watching!"
"Let them watch," he said with a laugh, setting her back down gently but keeping his arms wrapped around her. "I'm not ashamed to show the world how much I love you."
As they settled back into their seats, Kavin reached across the table to take her hand. "Yazhini, I promise to be everything you need-your biggest supporter, your best friend, and if you'll let me, your forever."
Yazhini squeezed his hand, her gaze softening. "I believe you, Kavin. But just remember, this is new for me. I'm not perfect, and neither will our relationship be."
Perfect is overrated," Kavin said with a shrug. "What matters is that we face everything together. Like we do a couple workouts at the gym!
He's such a smooth talker lah.. aww they're so cute together... (the audience in the cafe was admiring them)
The two of them sat there, lost in their own little world, the coffee between them growing cold but their hearts growing warmer with each passing second.
Kavin took the coffee cup and sipped it. Now this is much sweeter as u sipped it, my beautiful coach!
"So..." Kavin began, breaking the silence, "does this mean I can start calling you my beautiful coach now?"
Yazhini rolled her eyes, though her lips curled into a smile. "You've been doing that all along, haven't you?"
"Yeah, but now it's official. And it has a romantic ring to it," he said, leaning forward with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Before Yazhini could retort, the waiter approached their table, placing a small dessert plate between them. It was a slice of chocolate cake with the words Congrats, Lovebirds! Written in icing. Kavin raised an eyebrow and looked around, spotting the café manager grinning from the counter.
"I didn't order this," Yazhini said, her cheeks burning.
"Maybe they're just celebrating the power of love," Kavin said dramatically, placing a hand over his heart.
Yazhini narrowed her eyes at him. "Or maybe someone has been talking too loudly about confessions and proposals."
Kavin chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Okay, fine, maybe I got a little carried away. But can you blame me? This is the best day of my life."
Yazhini softened, her gaze falling to the dessert. She picked up a fork and cut a small piece, holding it out to him. "Here. You've earned this."
Kavin leaned forward, taking the bite with exaggerated enthusiasm. "Mmm, tastes like victory," he said, making her laugh.
"So," she said after a moment, "now that you've won me over, what's next on your grand plan?"
Kavin smirked. "Well, first, I'll make sure to keep impressing you with my smooth talking skills. Then, I'll start planning our next date. How about something adventurous? Like rock climbing?"
Yazhini arched an eyebrow. "You do realize that's practically a workout, right?"
"Exactly! We're a team now, Coach. We conquer challenges together," he said with a wink.
"Let's start with something simpler," she said, laughing. "Like dinner. Somewhere quiet."
"Done," Kavin said immediately. "Anything to spend more time with you."
Yazhini shook her head in amusement, but her heart warmed at his sincerity. She could already tell that life with Kavin would never be boring-and maybe, just maybe, that was exactly what she needed.
As they finished the cake and prepared to leave, Kavin held out his hand. Yazhini hesitated for a moment before slipping her fingers into his. His grip was warm and steady, and as they stepped out into the cool evening air, she felt a sense of reassurance she hadn't expected.
Under the glow of the streetlights, Kavin glanced at her, his expression tender. "You know," he said softly, "I never believed in soulmates until I met you."
Yazhini's breath hitched, and she looked up at him. "And now?"
"Now," he said, brushing a strand of hair from her face, "I know I was meant to find you."
Yazhini's heart swelled with emotion, and for the first time that evening, she didn't hold back. Rising on her toes, she pressed a soft kiss to his cheek. "Thank you, Kavin," she whispered.
His eyes widened and touched his cheek.
"For what?" he asked, his voice barely audible.
"For being you," she said simply.
Kavin grinned, his heart soaring. "Always, My beautiful Coach. Always."
And with that, they walked hand in hand into the night, ready to face whatever the future held together.
