Chapter 7
From a Vampire's Brother to a Human's Mate (Book 2: Completed)
Anthonyâs POV
âSo you told her last night?â Felix walked outside to the cliff where I stood watching the waves hit against the shore.
âNo, I canât tell her until she leaves Ian,â I growled.
âYouâve gotten weak, brother,â Felix sat beside me.
âI honestly do not need your teasing right now Felix,â I glared at him.
âIâm not teasing, Anthony,â He turned and looked at me seriously.
I was shocked into silence by his sincerity.
âEvery day you are not with your mate you get a little bit weaker,â He breathed and looked back out to the water. âItâs like me without blood. Your mate . . . sheâs your life source in a way.â
âHow do you know about all of this?â I asked confused.
âLike Iâve said. I am a vampire . . . Iâm not stupid,â He smirked.
I looked at him seriously and he sighed.
âI asked mom what was wrong with you.â He admitted.
âNothing is wrong with me, Felix. I will be fine. I just . . .â
âYou just need your mate,â He growled.
âWhatâs with your attitude,â I smirked elbowing him.
âI donât give a shit who this bitch is. Sheâs hurting my brother . . . sheâs lower than dirt to me,â He looked to me meeting my eyes.
âThis bitch is my mate,â I growled threateningly.
âAnthony, calm down. I am only being the brother Iâve always been,â He sighed.
âFelix, Iâm sorry, but I canât help it. It is an instinctive reaction. You were threatening her . . . in my wolfâs eyes anyway,â I breathed and sat back.
âWell if you want to know the effect of a rejecting mate as Uncle Ro. At least thatâs what mom told me,â He sighed and then jumped over the cliff.
I sighed and stood.
âTime to find Uncle Ro,â I sighed and walked back to the house.
I searched all over the house until I finally found him in the gym.
âTony, what are you up to?â He walked up to me.
Uncle Ro intimidated me more than my father.
My father, though scary, has always been sort of my save haven, but Uncle Ro is more of a take action, beat shit down kind of guy.
âI need to ask you a question, Uncle Ro,â I sat on a weight bench.
âSure, ask away. I donât know what I will answer that youâre Dad canât, though,â He sat across from me.
âItâs about mates,â I breathed.
âYes, I heard you found yours, but sheâs human. So why are you coming to me?â His forehead slightly crinkled.
âI . . . I canât mate her because she has a boyfriend. Now of days things work differently . . . I canât just go up to this guy and tell him to back off because his girlfriend of . . . God knows how long, is my mate,â I rambled.
Uncle Ro placed a hand on my shoulder, âI know how you feel . . . exactly how you feel,â He smirked.
âWhat?â I said confused.
âYouâve heard the stories, havenât you?â He asked.
âYeah, Aunt Elena had a boyfriend before you, but I always just figured that she left him for you when she found out. When you found out . . .â
âShe didnât. She rejected me because she didnât want to hurt her boyfriendâs feelings,â Uncle Ro rolled his eyes. âHe was my best friend too.â
âWow,â I sighed. âThat must have been hard.â
âIt was. I was getting weaker and weaker and it was driving me crazy to see her with him. When we were alone . . . it was impossible not to want her. I went behind my friends back. It got to the point that when ever saw him we were at each otherâs throats. We almost killed each other until . . . he actually got killed,â Uncle Ro shook his head.
âTristan right?â I asked.
âYeah,â He nodded.
âSo what happened? How did she realize she was supposed to be with you?â I asked interested.
âWell I was starting to convince her and it was right before the big fight against the hunters. She saw me with another female wolf and well . . . she didnât like that very much,â He laughed.
âWho was the girl?â I asked.
âSome daughter of an Alpha, that was my fatherâs friend. I didnât have any feeling for her. It happened by accident, but it got your Auntâs attention.â Uncle Ro nodded.
âWhat am I to learn from this?â I asked confused.
âDonât let anything come between you are your mate, Tony.â Uncle Ro stood.
âBut sheâs . . .â
âHe was my best friend, Tony. I almost killed him over Elena. Donât let it get that far. Show her that she needs you just as much as you need her,â Uncle Ro nodded.
âThatâs when sheâll come running to your side,â Aunt Elena came into the gym.
âHey, were you listening in on our conversation?â Uncle Ro smiled and turned to her.
I had never seen him look more innocent or vulnerable than when he was looking into his mateâs eyes.
âJust making sure that you are give our nephew good advice,â She smiled and walked up to him, placing a hand on her chest.
âAnd how did I do?â He smirked.
âWonderful,â She smiled and he pressed his lips to hers.
I sighed and stood walking out of the gym.
So I had to show her what she was missing.
Like that would be easy! She wonât even look at me!
âSo what did you learn?â Felix jumped on to my balcony as I walked into my room.
âThat getting her attention will be impossible,â I grumbled laying on my bed.
There was a time when Felix and I were extremely close. We never separated we were constantly at each otherâs side.
But then came the time when he had to go live with the vampires. Our mother decided he would be safer with them. From that moment on we were never close again. I hated that.
We are still brothers and I would trust him with my life. As he told me before about hating my mate because she hurt me . . . it was a small glimpse of that old bond.
âSheâs bound to notice you,â Felix leaned against the post at the end of my bed.
âSheâs noticed me,â I smirked.
âWhatâs that about?â Felix sounded interested.
âAt the party I went up to her room and we fooled around a little bit,â I smiled thinking about it.
âWhat is wrong with you? Are you trying to get her in trouble with her boyfriend? I hear he is a pretty jealous dude,â Felix sighed annoyed.
âI am not getting her in any trouble. She was completely drunk and I had her convinced it was all a dream. Sheâs innocent,â I shrugged. âNow what did you hear about her boyfriend?â I demanded, sitting up.
âI am not gossiping about this girl with you,â Felix pushed off the post and turned towards the balcony.
âNo, Felix,â I jumped off the bed so I was standing in front of him. âRemember forever ago . . . we made a pact that if we ever got too into a girl that the other would check out her whole back ground and report it back?â I smirked.
âThis is different. Sheâs your mate. You shouldnât need her back ground from me,â Felix rolled his eyes.
âFelix, come on,â I begged.
âNo,â he growled and pushed past me and to the balcony.
âWe used to be brothers,â I growled harshly, just barely looking over my shoulder.
âYeah, well brothers shouldnât be from separate species, now should they?â Felix mumbled.
When I turned around to stop him he was going.
âMy whole life is filled with separate species,â I breathed and sat back on my bed with my head in my hands.

Dawnâs POV
âI hope we didnât get you in too much trouble with Ian,â Julie smiled apologetically as we pulled into my driveway.
âDonât worry about it,â I smiled to cover my fear. âHeâs the one that left home alone last night, and with a big mess to clean up this morning.â
âWell, tell him we said hey,â Hannah smiled.
âWill do,â I waved and got out of the car.
I fumbled with my keys to get into the front door. I heard a car pull into the driveway and at that point I was lucky I already had the key in the door because with my hands shaking that bad there would be no way I gotten it.
While we were out shopping Ian had called me. He was mad that I wasnât home when he called the house phone. He demanded that I immediately come home and that he would meet me at the front door.
Well he was pretty damn close.
I was able to walk in and set my bag down before I was cringing from the sound of the door slamming.
âWhere were you?â He instantly demanded.
âI told you,â I breathed turning around. âI was out shopping with Julie and Hannah.â
âWhy didnât you tell me?â He growled.
âI felt like it was no big deal . . . I thought I would be home before you even noticed . . .â
âOh like you thought it was not big deal to pass out in the New Kidâs arms? It embarrasses me when you do that stuff . . .â
âI didnât mean to. I just got drunk before I even knew I was buzed. I didnât even remember that until Hannah told me this morning. Ian, Iâm sorry . . .â Suddenly I was on the ground and the side of my face was sting. It was only when I looked up to see blood on Ianâs knuckles that I realized he had backhanded me.
âDonât you dare cut me off when I am talking to you,â He spat.
âIâm sorry . . .â
âAll you ever fucking do is apologize. How am I supposed to know when you mean it?â He snapped. âYou are so weak it makes me sick! Havenât I told you before? That wants to fuck you and then heâll dump you,â Ian closed his eyes and breathed and then he picked me up and sat on the couch with me on his lap. âI would never do that to you. You know that. I love you, but how many times to I have to tell you that I am the only one. Even your mother leaves you when she gets the chance.
I felt the tears coming to my eyes as I nodded.
âI am the only one you got. Thatâs how I know youâll never leave me,â He smiled and then pressed his lips to mine.
I quickly kissed him back. I couldnât have him reading into my hesitation.
He slowly leaned into me so that I was eventually laying on my back on the couch. Ian slid his hands down my sides and quickly slid down the shorts I had on.
âNo, Ian,â I grabbed his wrist. âIâm tired.â I pleaded.
âDonât you want to keep me around?â He looked into my eyes sincerely.
I nodded not trusting my voice.
âThen lay back. You know I do all the work,â He smirked and then leaned in, kissing down my neck as he continued to push my shorts off.
âReally, Ian . . .â I gasped shocked when he slammed in to me. My grip on his shoulders tightened.
He moaned and I squeezed my eyes shut trying not to cry. For some reason it was hurt more than usually.
âIan,â I tried pushing at his chest. âIan, please,â I moaned out of pain.
He took it the wrong way and started going harder.
Tears fell fully from my eyes as I tried to push him away. I couldnât take it anymore, he to be almost done. Just when I thought I was going to cry out be grunted and pulled out. He stayed hovering over me and I laid there underneath him unmoving.
He kissed my neck and down my chest.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
âHow the fuck is that?â Ian growled.
âI âI donât know,â I stuttered. Inside I was incredibly excited that I would get him off me.
He stood and pulled up his pants.
âGet upstairs,â He growled.
âBut, Ian . . .â
âAre you hiding something from me?â He growled as the knock came again.
âNo, of course not,â I breathed shocked.
âThen go,â He ordered.
I nodded silently, grabbed my shorts and hurried upstairs.
âHey, Ian . . . umm,â I heard Hannah stutter confused.
âHey, Hannah,â Ian said happily.
âSorry, I was expecting Dawn,â Hannah admitted awkwardly.
âWell, sheâs upstairs . . .â
âI wonât be long,â Hannah cut her off.
âSheâs in the shower,â Ian stated annoyed.
âSo what? Were best friends . . . Iâll be fast,â Hannah sighed.
I quickly got dressed and walked out into the hall and downstairs.
âHannah,â I quickly got her attention. She was pissing Ian off and she didnât know what that meant. I felt like I needed to protect her.
âDawn. There you are,â She smirked.
âWhat did you come for?â I asked avoiding Ianâs glare.
âI just needed to talk to you,â She sounded excited.
âAbout?â Ian walked up to me.
I felt like I was going fall under his intense glare. I was terrified for when Hannah would leave. I had to keep her here for as long as possible.
âListen, Ian, this is just kind of girl stuff. Iâm sure Dawn will call you over later,â Hannah nodded and patted his shoulder.
âReally, Iâm sure he can just sit in the kitchen for a little while . . .â
âCome on, you guys can separate for a few minutes,â Hannah rolled her eyes.
âHannah,â I glared at her.
âNo, Itâs fine . . . Iâll come back tonight,â Ian sighed and then kissed me.
âOkay,â I nodded and then he walked out.
âYou two are ridiculous,â Hannah rolled her eyes.
âAnd so are you,â I sighed turning around and going back upstairs. âWhy are you here?â
âFelix asked me to the Spring Formal and I was so stuck on my stupid âplay hard to getâ kick that I said no and then maybe . . . and he had that stupid sexy smirk and then I ran. Well, not really . . . I hung up,â She shrugged.
âHannah,â I gasped as I sat on my bed.
âWhat?â She laughed. âI didnât know what to do . . . that is why I came to you to ask for help. What should I do?â She sat at the edge of my bed.
âCall him and tell him you would love to go with him to the dance,â I laughed.
âI canât! You know how he is . . . I just canât,â She rolled over on to her back whining.
âSwallow your pride and get yourself a hot date to the damn dance,â I laughed pushing her off my bed.
âI canât!â She popped her head up over the side of the bed.
âStop it,â I leaned into her. âStop being a baby and just call him. You know you want to . . . so just do it. I doubt he will hold it against you. He asked you . . . remember?â I pointed out.
âYeah, he did,â She sighed.
âAnd itâs not like he has a shortage of girls to pick from,â I smirked.
âTrue,â She looked at her hands.
âAnd itâs not like heâll hesitate to ask another girl, so you better not screw up your chance,â I wagged my eyebrows.
âYouâre right,â She shot up with a smile.
âYes, I am,â I smirked.
âI am going to call him and I am going to tell him that I would love to go with him,â She started walking towards the door and then she turned around back to me. âThank you, sweetie,â She kissed my forehead and then turned back to the door and hurried out.
When I heard the front door slam shut I breathed a sigh of relief.
I heard a sound from my window and jumped up shocked and looked to the window.
I walked around my bed and towards the window.
A figure popped up in the window.
I scream and jumped back stumbling and falling.
âYou know the pretty girl that walks towards the noise is always the one who gets killed,â The deep voice registered in my mind and I sat up.
âTony?â
