Chapter 27

From a Vampire's Brother to a Human's Mate (Book 2: Completed)

Tony’s POV

“Come on, Tony. Don’t be such a bore. Ian has been fine to your little mate. It’s time for you to have fun,” Lupa teased playing with the collar of my shirt, unbuttoning a few buttons.

I glared at the napkin I was tearing to shreds angrily, “Not with you,” I snarled lowly so only we could hear.

“Tony, for goodness sake . . . be a man. Want me,” She rolled her eyes laughing.

“Not every man wants you,” I glared at her and then back to the napkin.

“Almost,” She shrugged.

I was too focused on keeping track of Dawn’s scent to engage in any kind of polite conversation . . . especially with Lupa of all people.

Just when I was about to tear her pretty locks from her pretty head, a sour, salty scent mixed with Dawn’s.

Fear! My wolf growled.

I tensed instantly and began to look around nervously.

Where? Where is she? Where the hell is she? Where is that asshole? I WILL RIP HIM LIMB FROM LIMB! My wolf growled menacingly. I agreed enthusiastically.

“What is it? Anthony . . . are you alright? You are completely on edge,” Lupa sat back shocked.

“Tony, what is it?” Travis asked finally coming up for air from Julie’s lips.

“I . . . I don’t know,” I looked around nervously.

“What is it, brother? Where is Dawn?” Finally someone is asking the right question.

If I wasn’t so worried I would have smiled at Felix.

“That’s the problem. I don’t know,” I stood finally.

“Oh, sit down,” Lupa grabbed my hand and pulled me back into my seat.

I looked at her shocked and more angry than ever.

“It’s a dance, Anthony!” She rolled her eyes annoyed. “She probably went to the bathroom to powder her nose.”

“What? Fine, then where is that ass-hat?” I growled raising an eyebrow at her.

“Who knows? Who cares? This place is too public for anything to happen,” She sighed.

“It’s a fucking hotel, you ignorant bitch!” I snapped.

“Tony!” Julie gasped.

“He could have easily taken her to a room . . . and how the hell am I going to find that room?” I growled at her.

She looked up at me shocked and more than just a little frightened.

“If you have no ideas I suggest you shut the fuck up and stop wasting my time. I told you I wasn’t going to fuck you now move on!” I snarled more pissed than I had ever been at a woman and then without a seconds hesitation I turned for the stairs that led to the rooms.

“Tony, wait!” Travis came after me with Felix on his tail.

When we got to the empty stairs I paused to try and pick up Dawn’s scent.

“Go back!” Travis ordered.

I turned to him confused.

He was glaring at Julie and Felix was holding back Hannah.

“Get back to the table . . . when don’t know what’s going  on. You are not getting anywhere near that bastard,” Felix demanded pushed Hannah back.

“Bull shit,” Julie snapped, “She’s our best friend,” She pushed past Travi.

“Sorry,” I stepped in her way. “I appreciate Travis’s and Felix’s help, but this is my fight and I refuse to allow more people to get hurt in the process,” I shook my head.

“We are not leaving Dawn,” Hannah snapped stepping up to me. “We have let this go on long enough. Now stop wasting time and sniff out the way, wolf-boy,” Hannah demanded placing her hands on her hips.

“Fine,” I growled and turned back to focusing on the scent.

It was so weak and hard to follow. I thought I was losing it but then suddenly there was a scream.

“Dawn!” I yelled back, but that didn’t help the scream sounded like it was coming from all angles.

“What the hell? Where did that come from?” Travis looked to me confused.

This place echoed like a freaking cave and with the music pulsing in the background it didn’t help.

“No, no, no!” I cried.

“Tony, this way,” Felix piped in. “Blood, I smell her blood,” he said grimly and then turned and ran down the hallway. When we got to the door I didn’t even bother to check if it was unlocked I immediately kicked it down and charged in.

There he was laying on top off my unconscious mate.

That did me in. I tackled him off of her, over the bed and into the wall on the other side.

“You will never hit her again you fuck bastard!” I shouted as my fists landed punch after punch after punch. I didn’t care where they landed, stomach, face, arm, all I cared about was causing him pain and lots of it.

My fangs lengthened, claws came out. I was losing myself to my wolf and I didn’t fucking care. We were getting what we both thirsted for. His blood.

Then all of a sudden I was tackled to the ground.

Two people were holding me down and someone else grabbed me by my temples.

I struggled punching and kicking  and snapping. Who dare pull an Alpha away from his kill?

“Tony, stop!” The voice was calm, but loud enough to be heard over my own growls. “Calm down! Regain control over your wolf! Dawn needs you . . . Your mate needs you. This is not time for revenge.” Soon my wolf receded to the confines of my mind and I was able to get an understanding of what was going on around me. Travis and Felix were holding my down tightly while Hannah’s small hands pressed at my temples.

I took a deep breath look into the faces of my worried friends.

“I’m good. I’m good . . . let me up,” I breathed.

Quickly Felix and Travis got up and helped me up.

I went instantly to Dawn. She was unconscious, beaten and bloody. He dress was torn and destroyed. Looking over her, my wolf caught a second wind, but I squeezed my fists and calmed him down. I took my jacket off wrapping it around her.

Taking one last satisfied look at Ian’s bloody and battered body crumpled on the floor. I turned for the door.

“We need a back way out,” I looked to Travis. “Where we won’t be seen.”

Sure I was taking care of my mate, but I was in full on Alpha mode. This was a mission and my Beta was at my side.

“There is a fire exit stair case that leads outside.

“Felix, run ahead and get the limo ready,” I ordered.

With a kiss on Hannah’s forehead he was gone.

“Girls, stay in front of me,” I ordered.

“What . . .”

“Don’t argue, I will feel safer that way,” I nodded and they stepped in front of me while Travis led the way to the staircase.

When we reached the bottom and stepped outside I instantly tensed up.

“Tony, I’m . . .”

“I don’t need to hear it, Lupa, just get in the goddamn car. Let’s go!” I ordered and they all quickly filed into the car. I, holding Dawn, was the last. And we took off.

Every muscle in my body was tenser than they ever had been before and I knew they would not fully relax until I was able to look into her beautiful blue eyes again.

When we pulled up to the pack house and the door opened I was out without any hesitation. I kicked my way through the front door and shouted, “I need the pack doctor! In my room! Immediately!” with such an Alpha tone it almost scarred me.

Half-way up the stairs I was met with the pack doctor, an older man with graying hair and wise eyes.

“My lord, Tony. I thought that was your father. What happened?” He asked as we entered my room and I laid her on the bed.

“She was beaten,” I pulled back my jacket. “Badly,” I growled. “And raped. I wasn’t there for any of it,” I breathed helpless. “I don’t know the extent.”

“We’ll figure it out, son,” He patted my arm. “Call for your mother. I’ll need her help.”

I stuck my head back out the door, “Mom, we need you up here! Now!” I shouted.

As I stepped back into the room the doctor was cutting the rest of her dress away revealing the cuts and already black and blue skin. I hissed and looked away ashamed. I let this happen to her. It was all my fault.

“Stop thinking that, Tony!” Felix was suddenly by my side. “This was not your fault. She needs you! Be strong!” He demanded

The doctor turned to the group that was now cluster at the door, “Felix, water. Travis, towels. Girls, go get changed. I need room.” They all nodded and hurried back out of the room.

I walked to the end of the end as the doctor turned back and examined her wounds.

“Her wrist and ankle are so swollen it is a safe bet to say they are broken,” He sighed and he gently lifter her limp wrist. “Her jaw is badly bruised along with the rest of her body. There is tearing and major bruising . . .”

He was cut off by the low growl that left my lips as I looked down to my clenched hands on my bed.

“Sorry, Tony. It helps me to say the injuries out loud. If you can’t handle it, you can step out. It’s perfectly okay . . .”

“No, I am not leaving her,” I breathed looking up and meeting his eyes.

“Alright then,” He sighed and looked back to her.

At that moment my mother walked in.

“What is . . . Oh my god, Tony. What happened?” She asked coming to stand beside the doctor.

“Ian got to her. Her boyfriend,” I breathed looking at her worried.

“Don’t worry, baby. We’ll get her fixed up. It’ll be okay,” She patted my arm and then turned back to the doctor.

Felix and Travis stepped in next and from that point on I stepped back and watch my mom and the doctor work.

What seemed like hours later she was all patched up and looking human again. She lay peacefully on my bed. I pulled a light sheet over her naked body scared to try and dress her. I didn’t want to cause and more damage.

“I am going to go get some coffee. If anything happens, anything at all . . . come get me, Tony,” He doctor looked at me seriously. “It will take a while, but she will be fine,” He smiled encouragingly.

I nodded, “Thank you so much, Doctor. I can’t . . .”

“I understand,” He smiled and then walked out.

“You need anything, sweetie?” Mom asked.

“Just a glass of water, please,” I breathed.

“Of course,” She smiled and then walked out also.

I quickly changed into sweatpants and then pulled my desk chair up to the bed side.

She was hooked up to an IV and the Doc said she might need a blood transfusion, but over all she wasn’t as pale or bloody. Her whole body seemed swollen with bruises, but that didn’t matter. Those meant maybe some scars and a few bruises. All that matter to me was that the rise and fall of her chest was calm and normal. I could still hear her heart beat and she was still warm.

She was alive. She had made it through and now she was mine. Ian would never get his hands on her again. Ever. I placed my hand over hers laying on the bed.

And if he tried I wouldn’t hesitate to kill him, slowly and painfully just as he tortured my beautiful mate.
