Chapter 37

Love Stories ✓

Naba was dead.

Aliyan had survived.

After six long days he gained his conscious level. He had slept longer as the world was changed.

His wife was gone.

His family was broken.

He cried out so bitterly, everyone in the room cried along with him. No one could hold his tears.

Aliyan wasn't the only who lost Naba. Azaan also lost his doting mother. After the death of Naba, he remained very restless for few days.

He missed the presence of his mother and fell ill. His responsibility was divided among Hala and Aban's cousin. He was a fussy baby who couldn't be handled by everyone.

The first few days were very hard.

As the days passed, Aban's cousin went back to her home. His mother was busy taking care of her son who was hospitalized.

Aban was traveling between house, hospital and office during the whole day. He was also taking care of Azaan as the baby was more attached to him instead of Hala or anyone else.

Hala also went back to her home. Azaan was staying sometimes with his uncle sometimes with his auntie.

Due to traveling, now it was becoming very difficult for them to take care of the baby.

Someone was needed to be at Aban's home. His house was becoming mess day by day. It needed attention.

The situation wasn't good.

They needed a solution.

And solution was suggested by Aban's mother. She suggested marrying Aban with Hala.

Hala's mother liked the solution.

In that situation, Aban and Hala not even for a second thought to say no for this alliance. It was better for everyone.

After three weeks of Naba's death, Aban and Hala got married in a simple intimate ceremony at the home in the presence of their close relatives.

They never thought to accept each other as husband and wife, but it was in their destiny.

They did it for others.

Specially for Azaan.

Azaan was in the hands of his uncle and auntie. They both were trying their best to take care of him.

Two people who always used to tease each other and bicker around, forgot about everything. They lost themselves in the care of the little boy, who was the connection between them.

Time doesn't stop for anyone.

It wasn't stopped for them either.

Aliyan was recovering day by day. Physically he was becoming better with each passing day but mentally he was stuck at the place he lost his wife.

Aban and Hala started their life as a married couple. They didn't have a normal relationship. Their situation and past behavior wasn't ideal to be in one.

They were just living together for Azaan.

...

Hala was watching outside from the windscreen. Her gaze was fixed on the road, but her mind was stuck somewhere else.

She left a part of herself behind in the building, which she used to call home.

Her mind was there so was heart.

She sighed and averted her gaze to her husband who was focused on driving.

"Thank you" She mumbled.

"Sorry" He couldn't understand her.

"I said thank you for consoling me earlier" She explained.

"You don't have to thank me for it. It's my duty to comfort you" He said seriously.

"Still" She emphasized.

His presence today meant a lot to her.

"My pleasure" He nodded.

"Let's have coffee" After a few seconds, she suggested.

"Sure"

They didn't have any conversation later. They sat opposite each other in the cafe. Holding cups of coffee they were looking anything but each other.

They were akwardly having coffee.

Everything was different today.

Even the bitter taste of coffee seemed to be lessened today. It wasn't much bitter anymore or it was just affect of their mood.

Maybe the bitterness in life was lessened.

"How are you feeling now?" He asked gazing her.

"Much better now" She smiled lightly.

"You want to have anything else?" He asked gently.

She just shook her head in negative. A sight appeared in her brain from memories.

"This dinner is specially for you my dear" Naba smiled at her.

"That's why you spoiled my dinner by inviting this person to my special dinner" She said staring at Aban who was smiling at her.

"It's not polite to say such things Hala! He is my brother. He just came to drive me here. I insisted him to join us" Naba told her with serious expressions.

"Okay peace" She outstretched her hands in air.

"By the way bhabi I know why she doesn't like me. She likes me more than you like her. You spend more time with me. Bus issi bat sy jalti hy jal kukri" He teased her.

(That's why she is jealous of me)

"Bile ke khuwab may chichre" She huffed.

"Cease fire please" Naba said loudly.

"Anything else you want to have?" When they done eating their meal Naba asked her sister.

"She already had enough. Moti hojae gi" He said mischievously.

(She will gain weight)

"Tum ny mujh par ku nazar rakhi hui hy" She narrowed her eyes at him.

(Why you are having your eyes on me)

"Meri tum par nazar hy. Lo bhala. Bili ke khuwab may chichre"

(You think I have eyes on you. Don't boost yourself)

He burst into laughter. Hearing his laugh Azaan also giggled.

She laughed remembering that night. They were bickering so much during the whole time. They used to fight like kids.

Aban was surprised to see her laugh.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Nothing. Just remembered something" She shook her head with a small smile on her face.

Aban saw her face and a thought lingered in his head. He used to think in often.

He couldn't hold it anymore.

She needed to know that.

"You look beautiful when you smile" He blurred out.

Now it was her turn to be surprised. He never said anything like that.

A light blush crept on her cheeks.

Later in the night, lying in the same bed they weren't conscious about maintaining a huge distance between them. They still had a distance but that wasn't much.

They were just few inches away from each other.

One move and the walls they built around themselves would be broken.

Just one move was needed.

......................................................

This was the reason they got married. In the coming episodes we will read more about their relationship.
