New Emotions Unlocked

Lightning In His Touch

As the weeks went by, Wren found her stress rising and her patience waning.

The calm she had felt right after Talon began to train with her was short-lived. He had gone back to his aloofness, and after her reaction to his touch when their power cores touched, she was happy for him to do so.

This distance was not sustainable, and she knew that. After several weeks, she was not able to sleep, no matter how physically tired she might be.

Her focus was shot, and there were times Talon had every right to rip into her, even though he refrained. She was at her wits’ end.

She had always had a piano or an instrument to relieve her stress, and she had yet to see even a hint of one here. There was not even a radio for music lying around.

This lack of access to her stress relief activity of choice was taking her to her breaking point. After snapping at Evan for dropping his plate at breakfast, she burst into tears for being so harsh with him.

Something had to give. She headed for the director’s office, not knowing if he would be in, but she needed to speak with him.

He would be the only person who could help her right now.

“Enter.”

Wren stepped into the room.

“I wondered how long you would last,” he said, even before she shut the door.

“Director…” Wren looked down. “I am sorry, but I…”

He stopped her. “I already know, child. It is in the next room. I will have it moved to your suite this evening.”

“Do not do that. Where it is now is just fine.” Wren should not have been surprised that the director already knew what she needed.

“I would not wish to disturb the others.”

He laughed. “I do not think they would be bothered by it, but if that is what you wish. I will leave it there for now. However, if you do wish to have it moved to your room, all you have to do is ask.”

“Thank you, sir,” Wren said, giving him a bow before she left the room.

She crossed the hallway and quickly entered the room, leaning against the door and taking in a deep breath as she stared at the concert grand, black Steinway piano that adorned the room.

She quickly crossed over to the shelf and picked a piece of music at random before sitting down on the bench before the piano.

“I did not know what your tastes were, so I had them bring a bit of everything. If there is something you want, merely ask,” the director said.

Wren jumped at the sound of the director’s voice through the door.

“Enjoy,” he added.

After they had gathered for supper that night, Wren apologized for her behavior.

“I am sorry for my outburst this morning, Evan. It should not happen again as I have taken care of the issue,” she said.

Evan waved her apology away. “It is all right. We all have bad days. You were overdue for one anyway.”

“It is still no excuse to take my stress out on another. I am sorry.”

“It is forgiven and forgotten. That is, if you will train with me for a bit this evening.”

Wren nodded. “I would like that. Let me know when you are ready.”

A couple of hours later, Wren had a shower and headed back out the door. Talon just happened to be in the library and caught her slipping by.

It was unusual for her to go back out after her evening training. ~What are you up to at this time of night?~ His book was forgotten as he followed her out the door.

He could feel her excitement mount as they moved past the little garden and the training hall. She slipped into the building that housed the director and Medical bay, looking around to make sure that no one else was in sight.

After his mental and physical reaction to her when their power cores met, he kept his distance. They were dangerously close to the second bonding, and he was not ready to explain to her the third.

He knew it was stupid to act this way, but he needed time to prepare himself. He had waited for so long for this, and yet now that it was here, there just was not enough time.

He followed her into the building just in time to see her enter the room across from the director’s office. ~What are you doing in there?~ He stood outside the door, wondering if he should enter.

Just as he decided to go in, he heard the sound of a piano fill the hall, and he suddenly understood why her stress and tension had disappeared. She had found a way to remove it.

“She really is quite good, not on a professional level or anything, but she can hold her own quite well,” someone remarked.

“What are you up to, old man?” he spoke softly so as not to alert Wren that they were there.

“I came to listen to her play. It is very relaxing.”

“Is this what she meant by fixing the issue earlier?”

“More than likely. Seems this is how she likes to de-stress. Not bad, uh?”

Talon turned and headed back to the house, ignoring the director’s question.

“She will be done in about an hour,” he called out as Talon left.

***

Wren headed back to the house feeling much calmer than she had when she left. It was good to have her outlet back.

The goal was to keep it from the others for as long as possible. She did not want to give Emerald or Evan lessons. She wanted this for herself, just like it had always been.

Talon watched her go by. He stepped out of the shadows and matched his pace to hers.

Wren nodded her thanks once they had reached her door and then shut it in his face, leaving him without a word.

~Well, that was quick.~ Wren headed for the bedroom.

~With it being Talon, at least the others will not find out about it.~ Wren vowed not to think any more about it nor speak to Talon about it.

If it were left unsaid, maybe it would remain unfound. A girl could hope, right?

***

Talon stood looking at the door. She was messing with his head.

He had gone back to the library and grabbed his book, determined to let her do her own thing. So why had he found himself outside waiting to walk her back to her room? Had he changed that much from this morning?

He let out a sigh. It was apparent that she did not want others around her to hear her playing, and he had just announced without saying a word that he knew what she was doing.

He reminded himself of what an idiot he was for the tenth time in the last hour as he turned his back and headed for his room.

Later, lying on his bed, Talon tried to calm his mind. There had been so many things that had happened.

He was having a hard time wrapping his mind around all of the changes. Each time he closed his eyes, images of her body outlined against her wet clothing appeared before him.

The clothing had stuck to her, outlining curves and muscles that he tried not to react to. He could see her nipples pressing against the fabric, wanting out, pleading with him to touch them, mold and suckle them until a moan of pleasure escaped her lips.

She was hiding a very nice body underneath the layers of cloth she draped over it, and now that he had seen the outline, he wanted to see more. So much more.

He rolled over, trying to stifle his hardening body. She had smelled so good, just as if she had stepped out of the shower.

Her hair was wet and soft against his cheek. Her body was damp and cool, warming as it was pressed against his heat.

He groaned, rolling back to his side, and tried to think of other things besides her.

It had to be the bonding process. There was no way he was attracted to her as a person.

She was mousy, opinionated, bossy, and completely unaware of the effect she was having on him.

***

Wren stared at the top of her canopy as she lay in bed. She had finally been able to get rid of some of her tension, but now she had time to think about him.

She rolled over, fully aware that she was going to have trouble sleeping tonight. That is, unless she took matters into her own hands and gave herself release of a different type.

It had not been something she had felt she had to do since she arrived. However, she really wanted to sleep.

She reached over to the bottom drawer of her nightstand and pulled out the little black bag. She let out a sigh and pulled out her favorite toy.

She enjoyed the sensations this particular one gave her. Lying back against the pillows, she willed her mind to relax.

At first, she tried to push the image of Talon’s wet, chiseled body away, but that did not last long. She would feel guilty tomorrow, but tonight she was going to give herself this small pleasure.

Talon’s body appeared in her mind as she started to touch the places that gave her the most pleasure. His T-shirt outlined his rock-hard abs, see-through from the water that dripped off his hair and toned arms.

She could still smell his scent and feel the warmth seeping into her body from where his body pressed tight against hers. She imagined running her hands over that incredible chest, and she let out a sigh of pleasure.

To let a man affect her like this was new, but if it was Talon, she might just let it happen.

***

Talon gave up. He was not going to be able to walk tomorrow if he did not do something soon.

He had not been this affected by a girl since middle school, and he could not remember the last time he had had to resort to his hand to find his release. Damn it, the woman was going to drive him out of his mind.

It was wrong to use her for his personal gratification. He knew that, but it was not going to stop his mind from picturing the curves outlined by her wet clothing or his body from recalling the heat of her flesh.

His hand moved up and down as he took his time, letting his imagination take over. His imagination had her stroking him over and over again as he breathed in her scent before she slowly, with a wicked smile, lowered her head to his upright member.

She would encircle her tongue around the head of his cock before slowly parting her lips and sucking him into her mouth. He groaned as the images took over.

His body responded as his hand began to move faster.
