Chapter 32
Pack's Runt
Chapter 32
Blood and Lust
We walked across the bustling street before reaching a tall building. It towered over me, glass tinted windows reflecting the night and the cloudy sky. I stood there, craning my neck and wondering was the night going to bring. I snapped out of my thoughts when Nicholas grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the building.
We made past the polished marble entrance and entered the elevator which took us up to the apartments.
I watched him, the entire time, and understood he was going kill whoever it was. But why? It was just a picture. I didn't want someone to die over a picture.
"Don't kill him."
"Don't tell me what to do." He watched the small monitor on the screen that headed up to the eighteenth story of the building.
I swallowed hard and bit the inside of my cheek. The determination in his eyes warned me to not stop him. When the elevator reached his desire floored, he stepped out and I followed him. We walked across the hallway before reaching the door at the end.
185.
"Don't try to stop me. I only bought you here to watch," He said, a warning in his tone before he rang the bell of the apartment. "He'll get his punishment, nothing more and nothing less."
"Butâ"
I stopped on my words when he placed his finger over my mouth and hushed me. His eyes became dark as we heard footsteps reaching the front door. He turned away from me and waited.
The door opened and a man appeared, his eyes quickly drowning in fear as he found Nicholas. I hadn't seen the man before, not even at the whorehouse which made me assume that he had sneaked a picture of me. His eyes clicked to mine and guilt crossed his face, but before he found confess anything, Nicholas went past him, entering the apartment.
"Close the door." He said as I came behind him.
This wasn't going to end wellâI knew that for sure.
"I didn't know who she was," He closed the door and mumbled under his quivering breaths before turning around. "I thought she was another whore, and there wouldn't be any problem I went into the room and triedâ"
My eyes lowered to watching Nicholas' claws length behind him. I pursed my mouth and stepped back as his anger stirred into life. The man didn't have the chance to say much before Nicholas advanced towards him. He went silent, knowing what was going to happen.
"Do you know what you've done?" Nicholas asked, backing him to the corner. "The picture you've so proudly shared with several of your friends has reached to someone out of the pack and that someone was able to enter my territory, enter my town, my house and while I was gone."
"I didn't know the repercussions of it. It was a silly joke, Alpha." His life flashed in his eyes as he plead for it.
Nicholas didn't hesitate, he pounced on the man with a ferocity that left me speechless. I stood there, frozen as I watched him unleash his wrath on the man who had taken a picture of me. The man's screams filled the room, piercing the silence and echoing off the walls.
His claws raked across his face, leaving terrible wounds before he sank them into his throat, barely letting him take his breaths. He pressed him on the ground, and leaned over him.
"Did you touch her when you took the picture?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Waiting for the man's response, he removed his claws from his throat, letting his blood pool all around him.
"Noâ"
Nicholas stood up from the ground and let him remain down. "Don't lie to me. You're going to die either way, tell me the fucking truth, or I'm going to make this more painful for you."
"I didn't do anything," He shook his head. With every word, blood spilled from his mouth and fell onto the sides of his face. "I only took a few pictures and then left."
My brows tightened and my eyes remained wide at what was happening. Why was Nicholas so enraged?
Nicholas turned to me, his eyes glowing with a dangerous light.
"I would've known if he did something to me. It was just pictures. You don't have to kill him." I suggested, my heart racing at the sight of the young man and his wounds.
There were slashes over his body and throat, blood dripping from everywhere yet he continued to breathe.
Nicholas turned away from me, the rage in his eyes not settling any time soon. He pulled a gun out of his pants, the same gun he had threatened to kill me with once, the same one I had used on him. Silver bullets. He loaded the gun with them and shot at his leg.
The man screamed in agony, turning and twisting his body as the silver burned his flesh. He tried reaching his leg to pull out the bullet, but he could barely move with the wounds on him.
"Tell me." Nicholas asked again.
"He didn't do anything to me," I stepped forward. "No one did anything to me when I was there."
"You wouldn't have known." He raised the gun again when the man didn't respond. This time, he aimed it toward his face.
"I would've." I snapped back at him.
My gaze flicked to the man writhing in pain. Guilt washed over, knowing that because of me someone was going to die.
Nicholas turned around, the gun still in his hand. A shiver ran down my spine. "You couldn't have known." He said, his tone stern.
I took a step back as he walked toward me. "Why not?" My voice filled up with confusion. It was just a fucking picture, nothing else.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him, his eyes never leaving mine. He looked at me with a mixture of anger and something else I couldn't quite place. My body trembled in fear. He reached his pants, pulling out his phone and showing me the picture that had been taken.
"You were sleeping. Anything could've happened." He said, gripping the phone with his hand which was covered in blood.
I caught a glimpse of the photo before he switched his phone off. He wasn't wrong. I was sleeping in one of the rooms at the whorehouse when that man had taken a picture of me.
Goosebumps spread over my skin in realization.
He left my arm and turned around to the injured man lying on the ground who began to blabber as soon as Nicholas neared him.
"I thought she was a whore," He choked out. "I didn't do anything else. I only took some pictures of her, that's all."
"You're still lying to me."
I stood still, taking in it all. My chest rose and dropped at a frantic pace. I didn't know what to think. My eyes lowered to the man. Nicholas aimed the gun at his other leg when he didn't say anything more.
But did he do anything more? How could I even know?
I was asleep. I didn't even recall anyone coming in my room or taking pictures of me.
"I took videos of her, her body, but I didn't do anything else. I swear, Alpha." He cried out while his head shook.
Videos. My throat became tight, my body seizing in fear.
I pressed my eyes shut when Nicholas pointed the gun at his face and pressed the trigger. His screams and cries silenced immediately, and I knew it was over. I stumbled away, unable to see the man he had killed, and walked into another room as he rolled his body into a sheet.
Heaving, I let a few tears spill from the corner of my eyes and across my cheek. It wasn't too long when Todd and Evan attacked me at my pack house. And now this man I didn't even know.
How could they easily think they could do anything to me? As if I was worthless?
