Rejecting Your Rejection
'Us' is in the past, we could never go there.â
Kyle keep on following Zoe she stops and turns around shouting at him
"fuck off Kyle"
"What Zoe, that's it? you made speeches to her yet you don't follow
what you believe in"
Zoe caught him off guard when she got to him in speed punching him
in the face knocking him down on the ground. Kyle held up her hands
and she struggled against his hold as he was still stronger than then he
flips her over. Zoe didn't give up as she kept on hitting him until she
grew tired under his hold, then she began to sob.
Kyle got off of her then settled to sit beside her watching the sun
almost set as she still sobs there.
He listens as she cries, it's hurting him to hear her like this but he knew
that them was no longer there for him and her. The boat where they
should both be on has long gone, it is too late now. They started off
wrong and everything they went through was all wrong.
Once he heard her sob quieten he began to speak "you shouldn't hate
her, you out of all people should know that" Zoe never speaks. She
slowly sat up next to him looking overhead with no glance at Kyle.
"You hate what she does to your brother yet you're doing the same
thing to others without thinking much of it."
"You rejected me" she hiccups
"just like Dante rejected her but you know I have never physically hurt
you," he replies.
"You cheated on me," she continues to blame him
"and I apologize every day begging for your forgiveness for it.â
She pulls her knees up hugging them together with her arms rocking
back and forth like a child
"you never let me explain Zoe"
Kyle struggles to find words as his emotions have got the best of him.
He really did love her and he still does even though he has Clara now
but deep down in him, there's always a place for Zoe.
"You keep on pushing me away, and never gave me the chance to
explain. So why do you hate her when clearly she has given him a
chance in loving him," he saw in the corner of his eyes Zoe wiping away
her tears.
"I'm not blaming you for anything as clearly us not working out was
totally my fault. I am only hoping for you to be happy for them, see
from other people's view. You should know how it feels like to be
rejected so why not understand her."
Zoe wipes away her fallen tears, she tries to clear her throat. "I'm sorry
Kyle" she began to sob again he patted her on the back "I'm sorry for
everythingâ she cries.
After all those years of running away and giving him a cold shoulder,
she has finally apologized to him. It's surprising to him and he knew
that she meant it when she apologizes because the Zoe he knew was
the one who never apologizes to anyone even if she has done wrong.
He found himself struggling to hold his tears but he couldn't so he
stood up to go "just think about it, Zoe."
He walks away from her knowing they shouldn't be together they have
both moved on with other people. They already made their choices and
there's no more K and Z anymore. Their past was nothing but memories
he wishes to forget cause whenever he thinks of it still pains him.
"Kyle"
He heard her crying calling out for him and it took a lot of his audacity
to keep on walking. He was afraid that if he turns then he wouldn't let
her go.
"Kyle"
He clenched his fist while his eyes closed he took another two steps.
"Kyle" he felt her arms around his waist holding him back, her head on
his shoulder.
"Please don't walk away from me" she sobs "I still love you" instantly he
turns around facing her.
Gathering her face in his hands, his tears now pouring, he looks her in
the eyes "And I still fucking love you moreâ with that his lips smashed
on hers pulling her against his body not thinking of letting her go
anytime sooner.
Yet when they pull away his eyes widen realizing what he has done
"We can't do this, I'm sorry but that was before. I love Clara now as us is
in the pastâ he says and walks away from her not even to turn back for
her.
Zoe watches him walking out of her life for the third time and she
couldn't even bare to look at him doing the same thing he did before.
Kyle always does it to her that's why she left years ago leaving the
vulnerable Dante to take over the pack.
