Life as It Is

taught me as a Mate."

When she woke up a day after Dante scare the hell out of her more like

giving her a lifetime nightmare she finds herself back in their house.

All those moments when she felt kisses on her forehead and that

electricity going through her body along with warmth comforting her,

she thought it was him. Unfortunately, she has woken up in her

bedroom with no sign of Dante or any other sign that says it wasn't a

dream when she felt those feelings and heard him apologizing to her

for what he did.

Nerveless it has been three weeks since then and Laura spends most of

her time with the kids while Cameron was being attentive to her most

of the time. He has always been there for her trying to make her act

normal and live a normal life without fear. He went to an extent where

he trains her for the past two weeks how to defend herself.

Cameron told her that Dante has suggested for him to when he

dropped her off that day. He told her that Dante never explains what

happens to her and Daniella didn't even bother to share.

Speaking of Dante Daniella never saw him again since the incident in

his pack cell. She was doing better and for a whole week she managed

to get back up on her feet plus her training was really helpful. The

council has been giving out warning alerts for Rogues around the

border.

"Hey" Cameron came from the stairs with Holly in his arm.

"You're working today?"

"yeah... Why?"

he put her in her crib next to Clyde who was on the floor in the living

room playing with his pile of toys.

"I want you to come home early. I already ask Kyle to drop by to pick

you up"

"Kyle?" she asks in confusion "how did-"

"you forgot Alpha Dante's sister was one of our friends, and I know

almost everyone in that Pack,”

"okay" and she grabs her bag then kisses Holly and Clyde before

heading out "see you later guys.”

She decided to go by taxi to work today and let her car rest for a day.

After all, she didn't have the money to fix it if it broke down again.

Cora has shown up to her work today "Heya Dani" she beams at her

"how have you been doing?"

"great" she replies.

Cora took a seat by the counter eyeing the pastries on display "I'll have

your afghan cookie and a mocha."

Daniella quickly attends to her order then settles down behind the

counter opposite her.

Luckily they have fewer guests to attend to, so it was good to have a

little chat with her new friend.

"I've heard you been to our Pack”

Daniella gawks aside "yeah I was, due to a rogue’s attack and I

happened to be here when they did." She didn't want to talk about the

real reason so she watches as Cora took a bite of her cookie. "Hmm this

is so good" then she leans forward "and I also know our sexy Kyle is

picking you up.”

"Oh yeah, my brother in law Cameron ask him to" Cora just nod her

head and took a sip of her mocha.

"So do you want to visit my pack again?" Daniella half smile "I would

love to but I just can't” Cora pressed her lips together "okay."

The doorbell rings they both turn to Kiev who waves at her following

behind him was Alpha Allen. She greeted Alpha with respect then turn

to Kiev who has been there for her in the past weeks. He has been a

very supportive friend to her and Daniella never told him anything

about her life as she just avoids the topic and talks about other things.

He was near to them Cora suddenly has that distasteful look on her

face. She pushes away her plate standing up.

She looks aside “Alpha Allen” she beams with excitement “Kiev” Cora

gritted her teeth then look back at her unfinished cookie.

"I think I just lost my appetite, umm I'll see you some other day Dani"

she grabs her purse from the counter

“good day Alpha” and she heads out.

"What's with you and the Crimson pack members," she asks Kiev

"they're just jealous that they don't get to have this handsome face and

body" he jokes taking a seat before her.

“Alpha, what can I get for you” she turns to Allen “just latte” she moves

quickly then returns back narrowing her eyes at Kiev.

"Really Kiev, are you sure? You didn't do anything to make you the

number one hater to your former pack members?"

"Nah, not sure of but I think they just didn't like the fact I turned down

little miss prissy who was walking out of here. Oh yeah before you say

mate no are not" he grins.

Daniella whacks him on the back of the head. "Ms. Prissy is a friend of

mine so don't mock her," he warns him.

She couldn't help but feel like there's more to that story when her other

co-worker presses the bell indicating that Allen's latte was ready. She

moves up again and grabs it from the corner. “Here you Alpha” she

handed it to him while smiling Allen winks at her before taking the latte

from her, giving her the money then bid goodbye.

She and Kiev talk again for a while before he went back to his work. He

still works at the restaurant she used to work. After him, she went back

to continue with her duties in the cafe.

When she closes down for the day Kyle was already there to pick her up

then to drop her off home. They didn't talk that much on their way as it

was so awkward to her. So they just made small talk and then that was

it.

She opens the door to the only welcome with voices and she closes her

eyes once she heard the other unwanted voice coming from the living

room.
