âDonât mention your lowly job in front of me. How much money can you make? Iâm going to marry Tyler. I donât want anyone to know that youâre a waitress. Thatâll embarrass me.â Amelia didnât think she did anything wrong and even had a proud attitude to it.
Audrey chuckled. âDid I promise you anything? Do you really think you have the upper hand
Upon hearing that, Amelia slammed the table and stood up angrily, glaring at Audrey. âWhat did you say? Say it again.â
Audrey calmly raised her head. âI said, did I promise, to let you marry Tyler?â
âHow dare you deceive me?â Ameliaâs face was full of anger as she reached for the cup of coffee on the table, intending to throw it at Audreyâs .
But Audrey was one step ahead. She grabbed Ameliaâs hand and lifted it forcefully. The whole cup of coffee splashed directly onto Ameliaâs face.
âAudrey!âAmelia screamed, âIâll kill you!â
Audrey casually took a tissue to wipe her hands. Her voice was cold as she said, âIâm warning you. If you behave yourself, I may kindly consider it. But if you play any tricks. behind my back again, I will never give you the chance to marry Tyler. Besides, Iâll make sure you have no place in Willowdale.â
After warning Amelia, Audrey took the bank card that Amelia had placed on the table. before leaving. âConsider the money as your contribution to Grandma. After all, she loved you so much before.â
Amelia was in a sorry state and wanted to catch up, but the onlookers made her feel embarrassed, so she could only watch Audrey leave helplessly.
Having vented her anger on Amelia and taken the money, Audreyâs mood instantly improved. She deposited all the money on Barbaraâs hospital card, paying off all the outstanding fees and having some left for a few days.
After leaving the hospital, Audrey prepared to find a new job. She had sent quite few resumes before but received very few responses. It was partly because while the Griffin family still rich and powerful, she was too arrogant.
As soon as the other party heard that she was Audrey Griffin, they immediately refused her without any hesitation.
She got the last waitress job because the manager wanted to use her bad reputation to

attract some business. After all, there were too many people who disliked her, and everyone wanted to see her embarrassed. Naturally, they all came when they heard the news that she worked there. They claimed to come for a meal, but in reality, it was just to humiliate her.
Audrey spent the whole day outside but couldnât find a suitable job. Either people rejected her directly when they heard her name, or they required various qualifications that she didnât have. In the end, she returned emptyâhanded.
As Audrey walked out of the last place, the sky had already darkened. She was tired and hungry, her feet aching from walking all day. She sat down on a nearby step, planning to rest for a while before grabbing something to eat.
She was very unlucky though. She tried her best not to cause trouble, but trouble always came at her without informing her in advance. Not even two minutes had passed when a pair of shiny leather shoes and a pair of pointed silver high heels appeared in front of her.
Without waiting for Audrey to look up, the man spoke up. âOh, isnât this Audrey Griffin? Begging without proper equipment, huh?â
âDarling, should we buy her a cup or something? Look, Miss Griffin doesnât even know that beggars always take a cup while begging. Otherwise, how can others give her money?â
The coquettish female voice sounded familiar to Audrey, but she couldnât remember who it was for a .
âI never expected Miss Griffin to end up like this one day. Itâs really surprising,â the man said, his tone full of sarcasm.
After the two of them finished their sarcastic remarks Audrey casually lifted her head. It was only then that she remembered who these two people were.
Last time, because of Tylerâs presence, these two people were embarrassed. Now seeing Audrey alone, they must have been trying to regain some dignity.
Audrey thought, âTyler really is my nemesis.â
âOh, by the way, didnât you meet Tylerâs parents? Why are you begging here?â The woman feigned surprise. âOh could it be that Tyler was just joking? After all, you were enemies before. If he can still marry you after being bullied by you, then heâs not a real
â
âWhat does it have to do with you whether heâs a real man or not?â Audrey adjusted her clothes and stood up. âBut Iâm curious, is this man next to you a real man? How much money does he give you for a night in bed?â

Audrey didnât give the woman a chance to speak and shifted her gaze to the man. âBesides, Iâm wondering if the money you give her is the same as what you give to that woman. Who gets more? Can you tell me?â
As soon as Audrey said that, the manâs face slightly darkened. The woman instantly got angry and pushed the man away. âWhat does she mean by that? Are you dating another woman?â
âNo, Iâm not. Donât listen to her nonsense. How could I possibly be dating another
woman?â
Audrey couldnât resist stirring up trouble. âRemember the last time at Harmony Hotel? Have you forgotten?â she asked, glancing at the woman. âHe came out of that womanâs room and immediately went to find you. Didnât you notice?â
âShut up!â the man shouted at Audrey.
Audrey shrugged her shoulders, putting on an innocent smile.
The woman seemed to remember something and slapped the man in the face. âYou lied to me back then, saying it was an accident when you got perfume on you!â
âNo, I didnât! Itâs not like that!â
âWeâre breaking up!â
Audrey turned away, uninterested, as the drama came to an end.
âWhether Iâm a real man or not has nothing to do with her, but it does have something to do with you.â A familiar voice came from behind after Audrey had taken a few steps.
Startled, Audrey turned around abruptly. âWhy canât you leave me alone?â
Tyler walked over from the side. âIf I said I was just passing by, would you believe me?â
âDo you really think Willowdale is all yours? You can pass by wherever you want?â Audrey retorted.
Tyler pointed to the commercial building behind Audrey. That one really is mine.â
Audrey almost lost her temper but managed to calm down. She glared at him before walking away.
âWhether I marry you or not, I am still a real man,â Tyler, who was behind her, explained seriously.

Audrey paused. âWhat does it have to do with me?â
He stepped forward and stood beside her. âIf Iâm going to marry you, you should know me from different angles.â
Iâm not interested.â
âKnowing oneself and the enemy leads to everlasting victories. I havenât even started my revenge yet. Are you conceding defeat already?â
Audrey couldnât resist being provoked, especially by Tyler.
âWho said Iâm conceding defeat? If you have the guts, come at me.â
Tyler, pleased that his bait had been taken, smirked. Just wait.â
Audrey about to respond when her stomach growled.
Tyler glanced at her. âAre you this poor?â
âYeah, Iâm so poor that I canât even afford a meal. I wonder if you can invite your rival for a meal first to solve the problem of hunger, Mr. Russell?â
She really didnât feel like walking anymore. If there was a free ride, why not take it? Plus, she could get some free food and drinks. It was exactly what she needed the most
at the moment.
With that thought, Audrey felt even more at ease. âI want to eat the special dishes at Savory Bites.
