Chapter 15
Married To My Dearest Enemy by Jared Mandel
Chapter 15
Audrey sat on the bench outside the ward until the next day. She wanted to
in and visit Barbara, but she didnât want Barbara to be worried about her, so she didnât go in.
After leaving the hospital, Audrey found a nearby hotel to place her things and get a shower. After that, she headed straight to the piano store.
She was a little early. The store wasnât open yet.
Therefore, Audrey went and found a breakfast store to get something to eat before heading back to the piano store.
âAudrey, how come youâre here so early?â Grace was a little surprised when she saw Audrey arriving so early.
âItâs my first day at work. Iâm a little excited, Audrey said.
âHave you not had a job before?â Grace took Audrey to the lounge. âBy the way, I forgot to ask you what size clothes you wear yesterday. Whatâs your size?â
Audrey told Grace the size of the clothes she wore.
âHere, try this. If it doesnât fit, Iâll get another set for you.â
Audrey nodded and went to get changed.
âIt fits quite well. Iâll get another set later on and wear them alternately.â
Grace was quite a passionate person. She told Audrey every single detail.
Audrey was a little slow when it came to relationships with others, but she didnât resist Graceâs passion.
There werenât many people in the store in the morning, so the two of them became quite good friends.
âGrace, I was wondering, are there any dorms provided by the company?â
Grace was a little taken aback. âDo you need a place to live?â
Audrey nodded. âItâs little far away from home.â
âIâll ask the store manager later on. I live close by, so I donât know about such things.â
âOkay, .â

manager.

Tyler had just finished a morning meeting when he received a call. When he saw that the person calling him was the store manager of the piano store, he thought that there was a problem with Audrey. As soon as he answered the call, he asked, âDid she not come to work?â
The store manager quickly replied, âShe did, but Miss Griffin is asking whether we provide a dorm for our employees or not.â
âWhat did you say to her?â
The store manager was quite proud of himself. âI said we do, but where are we going to find a place for Miss Griffin to live. Mr. Russell?â
Tyler fell silent for a few seconds. âIâll make the arrangements.â
After hearing those words, the store manager breathed a sigh of relief. âOkay, Iâll tell Miss Griffin about the dorm later on then?â
Tyler nodded and then hung up.
âDavid.â
âMr. Russell. David took a step forward.
âFind a suitable house near the piano store. The price doesnât need to be too high.â
âAre there any other requirements?â David asked.
âMake sure the facilities are good, the security is up to standard, and the place is comfortable to live in. Itâd be better if the place is quite spacious.â
âMr. Russell⦠the houses around the piano store are all commercial housing. The facilities are complete, and the security would be up to standard as well. The houses are also spacious, but theyâre not very suitable to be used as dorms,â David said.
Tyler stopped where he was. âMake sure you find an excuse to convince her that dorms. can be of high quality just like you got Savory Bites to deliver takeaway.â
David was rendered speechless.
He couldnât help but complain inwardly, âDidnât you want to get revenge on Miss
Griffin
âIs this what you meant by revenge?
âWhy arenât you letting her know what youâre doing for her?

âWhat kind of revenge is this anyway?
âYouâre just spoiling her!â
âWhat are you thinking?â Tylerâs voice suddenly sounded above Davidâs head.
David was startled. âNothing⦠I was thinking of how to convince Miss Griffin that dorms can be highâclass.â
âMake it quick,â Tyler said before leaving the office.
âAudrey, the store manager said that we do provide dorms. Heâll take you over later on.â
Audrey had just finished playing a piece of music when she heard what Grace said. She became a little excited. âOkay. Thatâs great, thank you.â
Grace smiled and glanced at Audreyâs fingers, which were placed on the piano, and said, âAudrey, youâre really good at playing the piano. Have you learned how to play the piano before?â
Audrey hesitated and said. âI did learn how to play the piano before. Due to certain reasons, I didnât continue.â
Back then, Audrey was already a gradeânine pianist. Because Amelia said that she also wanted to learn the piano so that she could go and perform, Audrey was forced to stop
her lessons.
Her parents were afraid that she would steal all of Ameliaâs glory.
However, when she had given up, Amelia had only put in the effort to learn how to play the piano for a short period of time before giving up.
âWhat a pity. I think you can even become a great pianist. I mean one of those professional pianists. Grace was a shop clerk at the piano store, but she only knew about pianos. She had no idea how to play the piano.
When Grace heard Audrey play the piano, she somehow felt the music to pleasure her ears. She felt like she was listening to one of the top pianists playing the piano on
television.
Audrey smiled. âI need to be very good at playing the piano to become one of them.â
âYouâre already very good.â
The two of them were engaged in a conversation when the store manager came over and shouted Audreyâs name.
Audrey answered and walked over. âWhat , Mr. Greenwood?âGary Greenwood was

the full name of the store manager. People would normally call him Mr. Greenwood.
âAbout the dorms you asked about. I can only take you over tomorrow. I have some. private matters to take care of today, so I wonât be able to take you over.â
Audrey nodded. âThatâs alright. You do what you have to.â
âOkay. Iâll take you over tomorrow.â
âOkay.â
After the store manager left, Grace walked over to Audrey. âAudrey, do you not have a place to live? How about you come to stay with me and move to the dorms when Mr. Greenwood has finished arranging a dorm for you?â
âThereâs no need. I have a place stay,â Audrey said.
âAlright then. If you find it inconvenient, then you can come and stay with me. My room is very big.â
After getting off work, Audrey went straight to the hotel.
After having something to eat, Audrey tried to look for somewhere suitable to live on the internet.
As soon as she picked up her phone, it began ringing.
The call was from an unknown number.
Audrey hesitated before answering the call.
âAudrey, itâs me.â
Î
Recognizing Garyâs voice, Audrey said, âMr. Greenwood, is there something you want to talk to me about?â
âWell, I just want to tell you that the dorm is ready. Do you have a place to stay tonight? If not, I can give you the address and the passcode to the door and you can head straight over â
âItâs alright. I do have somewhere to stay tonight. Iâll head over tomorrow,â Audrey said.
âThatâll do as well. Itâs quite late today. Iâll get Grace to help you with
tomorrow.â

âThereâs no need. I donât have a lot of luggage. Iâve only got a suitcase. I can just carry it

Gary didnât say anything else after hearing what Audrey had said. He said goodnight to Audrey before hanging up..
Meanwhile, in one of the commercial buildingsâ¦.
Gary was leaning against the window. He was covered in sweat. He had been holding his breath just now and could only begin to breathe after he hung up.
David passed a bottle of water to Gary. âThank you.â
Gary waved his hand. âYouâre too kind, Mr. Murphy. Iâm just doing what Mr. Russell asked of me.â
After drinking the water, Gary looked at the person who was arranging the furniture and lowered his voice. âMr. Murphy, what is the relationship between Miss Griffin and Mr. Russell?â
David hesitated and said, âTheyâre enemies.â
Gary looked at David with fear in his eyes. âEnemies?â
âTheyâve been enemies since primary school.â
âWhat? Theyâve been enemies for over 20 years?â
