Chapter 12
Married To My Dearest Enemy by Jared Mandel
Chapter 12
Audrey said in a cold voice, âOtherwise, Iâll take everything that Amelia likes in the future. I wonât let her have anything, even if itâs something that I donât want.â
With that said, she loosened her grip. âEspecially the chance of marrying into the Russell family, I wonât let her have that either.â
Joseph didnât expect Audrey to dare to talk to him like that. He was infuriated. immediately. He raised his hand and was about to hit Audrey again.
âThatâs enough!â Barbara shouted.
In the end, Joseph didnât swing his hand toward Audrey, but he pointed at Audrey and said, âIâm warning you. Only Amelia is worthy of marrying into an affluent family like the Russell family. Youâre not worthy at all.â
âSheâs not worthy? Are you saying Amelia is worthy?â Barbara asked. âSo Ameliaâs daughter and Audreyâs not?â
your
âShe has made no attempts to make progress. Such a useless piece of shit isnât worthy of being my daughter,â Joseph retorted.
âAudrey, help me get out of this bed,â Barbara said to Audrey.
Audrey walked over and helped Barbara get out of bed.
After stabilizing herself, Barbara walked toward Joseph. She then slapped him in the face. âYou unfilial thing isnât worthy of being my son either.â
With that said, Barbara pointed at the door of the ward. âGet out of here right this
instant.â
Joseph wouldnât hit Barbara back no matter what. He glared at Audrey. âLet me tell you this. The Griffin family only has one daughter, and thatâs Amelia.â
After saying those words, Joseph left angrily.
Emma sighed. âLook at how angry your dad is. I tried to be nice to you last night. Iâm doing for your own good. Since you donât like it, then let Ameliaâ¦â
âYou should get lost well.â Barbara interrupted Emma. âDo you think youâre Mr. Nice. Guy now?â
Emmaâs face changed when she heard those words. âYou old fool. If it werenât for me who convinced Joseph to let you live, you would have died long ago
Audrey walked over pushed Emma out of the ward. She then slammed the door

close.
Emmaâs cursing sounded immediately. âYou ungrateful b*tch! You might as well die with the old fool!â
Audrey had gotten used to such words over the
years.
However, it had really upset her this day.
Î
What she didnât understand was that she and Amelia were both daughters of the Griffin family, but Amelia would always be the favorite.
Ever since Audrey was little, she had always been a foil to Amelia. Whenever Amelia was complimented, Audrey would be told off.
After being left out for a long time, she has always been a foil to Amelia.
Such things included care and concern.
She wouldnât look forward to being cared about nor would she look forward to being complimented on.
However, even though Joseph and Emma didnât care about Audrey, they still gave her a lot of money to spend. They would even let her spend as much as she wanted. Therefore, she gradually became the arrogant and domineering daughter of the Griffin. family, who liked to hang out with people that she liked to call âfriendsâ.
Audrey felt that she probably didnât like Tyler at first because he was quite similar to Amelia.
Therefore, she vented all her anger toward Amelia on Tyler.
âCome here, Audrey,â Barbara was quite infuriated just now. Even her voice sounded. weak.
Audrey came back to her senses after hearing those words. She then helped Barbara back onto the bed. âWhy didnât you slap him one more time just now?â
Barbara looked at her. âI wanted to, but Iâve got no strength left in me. I donât want to hurt myself doing so. Itâs not worth it.â
Audrey smiled. âIâve bought your favorite cake. Do you want some to replenish your energy?â
Barbara looked at Audrey, who was acting like she didnât care about what just happened. She mad, but her heart ached at the same time.
âWas the rich and handsome guy yesterday the son of the Russell family?â Barbara

Audrey nodded. âThe Russell family of Willowdale is very rich. If I marry him, then we wonât have to worry about anything for the rest of our lives.â
âDo you have feelings for him?â
Audrey was slightly taken aback. âNo.â
âI remember you used to argue with a boy all the time in school. Itâs him, right?â
âItâs because heâs been really annoying. I never liked people like him.â
Audrey felt that Tyler was someone who didnât like to study just like her. However, he was still better than her at everything.
All the teachers, classmates, and anyone who mentioned him, would all compliment. him.
âIf your attention wasnât focused on him, why would you find him annoying?â Barbara asked in a low voice.
âWhat kind of nonsense is that?â Audrey passed a piece of cake to Barbara. âHere, have something to eat.â
âI donât have the appetite.â Barbara waved her hand. âI heard those two bastards say that you lost your job.â
âIâve gotten tired of my previous job, but Iâve found another. Itâs quite a good job.â A smile appeared on Audreyâs face when she thought of the job at the piano store. âItâs a job of playing the piano.â
When
arbara heard those words, her eyes darkened a little. âYou havenât played the piano for quite a long time. Have you forgotten what youâve learned?â
âNot quite. Itâll come back with some practice. Audrey didnât want to think of the things that would make her unhappy, so she changed the subject. âIâll come visit you when I have time, Grandma. Remember to take care of yourself, alright?â
âAlright, alright. Worry about yourself first. I know what Iâm doing.â
Audrey knew what Barbara meant, so she didnât say anything else.
She kept Barbara company for a while and only left the hospital after Barbara had fallen asleep.
As soon she reached the gates, Tyler called.

Only then did Audrey remember Tyler said the previous night that they were going to the Russell familyâs residence for dinner tonight.
The truth was that Audrey didnât really want to go. After all, she didnât expect to have a relationship with Tyler. Not only that, the Griffin family wouldnât let her marry into the Russell family either.
âTyler, how about you tell Mrs. Russell that Iâm busyâ¦â
âWhatâs keeping you busy?â Tyler interrupted Audrey before she could finish.
Audrey hesitated and said honestly, âI donât want to go.â
Tyler fell silent for a few seconds on the other end of the line. âWhere are you? Iâll come to meet up with you.â
âIâ¦â
âAudrey, you know what kind of person I am.â
Of course, Audrey knew. No one could stop Tyler from doing what he wanted.
âIâm at the hospital.â
âWait there.â Tyler hung up.
Audrey walked to the bus stop opposite the hospital. She then sat down and waited.
Tyler arrived about a quarter of an hour later.
He pulled over and rolled down the window. âGet in.â
Audrey walked over to the car and bent down to look at him. âWhere are we going?â
âGet in the car first.â
Audrey saw that there were cars behind them, so she had no choice but to get in the car first.
âWhy donât you want to go suddenly?â Tyler asked as Audrey into the car.
Audrey fell silent for a while before answering, âI just feel that we wonât be together in the future, so itâs a little inappropriate for me to have dinner at your familyâs house.â
Tyler frowned after hearing those words. âWhy do you mean by we wonât be together? Weâve met each otherâs parents. Are you going to regret your decision

âI didnât agree at first. Iâ¦â There was a pause. Audrey felt that she couldnât really tell Tyler that she went to meet Tylerâs parents because her Grandma threatened her to do
Audrey didnât want Tyler to know about such embarrassment.

âYou donât have feelings for me, and I donât have feelings for you. Why are weâ¦â
âAudrey, Iâve already told you. I want to marry you because I want to get revenge on you.
