Audrey stood up and looked at the clerk nervously. “Will that be alright?”

The clerk nodded with a smile. “No problem at all. I’ll get our store manager to come

over.”

After hearing those words, Audrey breathed a sigh of relief. “Okay, thank you.”

She turned around to look at the crowd, which hadn’t dispersed, and felt touched by their actions

Just as she was about to look away, she saw a familiar figure.

Before she could take a closer look, the figure disappeared around a corner.

Audrey subconsciously wanted to go after the figure but was stopped by the shop clerk. “Our store manager will be here soon. Please wait here.”

Audrey stopped where she was. “Okay.”

After sitting down, Audrey felt her reaction just now was a little funny.

She felt that she must have been imagining things due to Tyler passing by twice the previous day.

The store manager was a young man. His actions made people feel that he was a gentleman.

“These are our requirements at the moment. The wage wouldn’t be high at the beginning, but it wouldn’t be low once you’re used to the job.” The store manager looked at Audrey after introducing the job to her. “Miss Griffin, you can still think about it for now.

It was hard to find such a suitable job, and the other party didn’t have any unreasonable requirements. Audrey took the job without any hesitation. “There’s nothing for me to think about. When can I start?”

The store manager looked at the time. “How about this? It’s lunchtime right now, and I some detailed requirements I want to talk to you about. How about we have lunch together?”

Seeing Audrey’s hesitation, the store manager said in a low voice, “Let’s have lunch here. I’ve ordered a takeaway.”

The shop clerk also said, “Miss Griffin, we all eat in the store. There will be other colleagues well.”

With that said, Audrey felt a little awkward. She hesitated just now only because she felt it was inappropriate to have lunch with them without being officially hired.

She didn’t expect them to think she was hesitating because of other reasons.

Looking at the food on the table, Audrey was a little stunned.

“What is it?”

The store manager saw Audrey staring at the food on the table. “Does the food not suit your taste?”

Audrey quickly shook her head. “No, I just feel it’s a little… expensive.”

Savory Bites rarely did takeaways. Even if they went to cat in, they would still need to meet a certain requirement before a booking could be made.

She was only able to eat there the day before because of Tyler.

However, looking at the table full of food, which was mainly her favorite, Audrey felt a little strange.

The store manager said with a smile, “A friend of mine is a shareholder of Savory Bites. I

arrange all of this with a call.”

The store manager filled Audrey in on the details of work during lunch, telling her things such as working hours.

After the meal, Audrey immediately signed the employment contract.

“You can come to work tomorrow morning at eight o’clock. The store manager pointed at the shop clerk, who led Audrey inside. “Grace will prepare your uniform for you.”

Audrey nodded. “Okay.”

After the job was secured, Audrey immediately felt relieved.

She said goodbye to the store manager and then bought some things as she headed to the hospital. She wanted to spend more time with Barbara before she started work.

What Audrey didn’t know was that as soon as she left store, Tyler walked into the piano store.

“Mr. Russell.” The store manager quickly walked over to greet him. “Everything has been set for Miss Griffin. She’ll start work at eight o’clock tomorrow morning.”

Tyler nodded, raised his hand, and pointed at the piano that Audrey had just played. “Deliver one of those to Serenity Gardens later on in the day.”

“Mr. Russell, does Miss Griffin need any special arrangements?“The store manager felt that Audrey was someone arranged by Tyler. He couldn’t be held responsible if anything went wrong.

“No. She doesn’t need special arrangements.”

The store manager nodded in acknowledgment. “I understand.”

As soon as Audrey stepped out of the elevator, the nurse who took care of Barbara greeted her. “Miss Griffin, you’re finally here.”

“What’s wrong?”

The nurse led Audrey toward Barbara’s ward. “The members of your family are here and arguing with Mrs. Griffin right now. You should head over and take a look.”

As soon as Audrey heard those words, she quickly headed toward the ward.

As soon as she reached the ward, she heard Joseph’s voice from inside the war

“Audrey is just a useless piece of shit. If she married into the Russell family, it would only be humiliation to the Griffin family. Only if Amelia married into the Russell family can she bring glory to the Griffin family.”

“Barbara, you used to adore Amelia. What has Audrey been feeding you lately? Why are you speaking on her behalf? Besides, Audrey is just a heartless b*tch. If she married into the Russell family, she wouldn’t care about us at all. That includes you as well,” Emma said.

“So are you saying you guys care about me then? I’did adore Amelia in the past, but has she ever come to visit me even once?”

Emma was in the wrong in this matter, so her voice softened a little. “Mom, Amelia has been busy lately. She’ll come visit you after she’s taken care of everything.”

“There’s no need. It’s enough to have Audrey around.” Barbara sounded a little estranged. “You don’t need to come in the future either.”

Seeing that Barbara wasn’t listening, Joseph’s attitude soured as well. “Mom, don’t forget. you’re still here because of us. We’re the ones who gave you this chance. If you had relied on Audrey, you’d already be dead.”

Joseph and Emma were there because they wanted Barbara to convince Audrey to give Ameilia the chance to marry into the Russell family.

Amelia had been crying so hard the previous night that she didn’t even have dinner. This caused their hearts to ache.

They saw the relationship between Audrey and Barbara had improved a little, so they wanted Barbara to convince Audrey.

What they didn’t expect was that Barbara was very determined and wasn’t listening to them at all.

“Well, looks like I need to thank you. If it weren’t for you, Grandma wouldn’t be in this situation. Audrey opened the door and walked inside. “Ever since Grandma was hospitalized, you rarely came to visit her, right?”

“The second time you came, you asked Grandma to convince me to marry a fool with the mentality of a three–year–old, so you could get the guy’s family to owe you a favor in order to save the Griffin Group.

Audrey looked at Joseph and Emma and said slowly, “This time, you’re here because you want me to give up the chance of marrying into the Russell family, so that Amelia could marry Tarry.”

With that said, Audrey laughed. “Wouldn’t you have a guilty conscience for doing so?”

“You bastard!” Joseph shouted. “Watch how you speak to us! We’re your parents!”

“What? What do you think you’re doing?” Joseph wanted to pull his hand back, but Audrey wasn’t loosening her grip.
