Chapter 104 - Magic Display

Aldo seemed bewildered, not expecting me to reveal my hand so easily, but he insisted I come out to the courtyard. However, even though the courtyard was quite spacious, there was a risk of damaging various equipment.

I requested to use magic on the main road.

When I stepped onto the road, the viscount’s knights and magicians were lined up around Aldo. Next to him stood Kathy, openly showing her hostility. It seemed that calling them out to the road instead of the courtyard had heightened their wariness.

“… Let me say this first. If you use any magic that causes harm to us, it will be regarded as an act of hostility.”

“I wouldn’t do such a thing.” I chuckled at Aldo’s misguided threat.

I stood in the center of the road, looking around. Some soldiers were trembling, while some magicians wore openly mocking expressions. Among them, there were also some young people who seemed intrigued by magic.

Seeing such an audience, I let out a light breath and relaxed my shoulders. “Then, let’s first start with fire magic.”

I raised one hand toward the sky. I could feel the tension in the air increase, but I opened my mouth without concern. “[Hellfire, Inferno].”

The moment I murmured these words, a fireball the size of a fist appeared above my palm. I heard voices from around me, some chuckling or even laughing, but the next moment, these sounds turned into screams.

Flames erupted, spreading across the sky as if they were invading the space around them. The temperature suddenly surged to the point of being in a sauna as the flames rose, accompanied by upward currents of air, higher and higher into the sky.

Normally, I would direct the flames wherever my palm faced, but I decided this was enough for now.

After making this judgment, I extinguished the flames partway. The fire, which had been illuminating the surroundings red, vanished in an instant, leaving a large hole in the clouds above, as if a lake had formed in the sky. I returned my gaze to the surroundings.

After checking the situation around me, I noticed that the atmosphere from earlier had completely vanished. The soldiers and magicians who had been laughing now had their faces twisted in fear. Even those who had looked on with interest were now pale and trembling.

And the key figure, Aldo, stood frozen with a furrowed brow. Kathy’s eyes were wide with shock, but perhaps it would be quicker to just reveal everything at once.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

“Next, let’s move on to water magic… [White Lady]!”

The moment I cast the spell, a localized blizzard reaching ten meters in height erupted above me. The snow swirled violently and gathered in the center. Then a figure resembling a woman in a dress gradually emerged from the flurry.

While everyone was captivated by the enormous humanoid figure that appeared amidst the white snow, the surrounding temperature dropped sharply.

Then the White Lady slowly waved one hand. Instantly, the snow gathered in the center transformed into countless icicles, which shot outward like shotgun blasts. The icicles veered off the main road and flew toward the distant fields, striking the ground with rumbles, creating a scene reminiscent of a giant hedgehog.

The spectators were left speechless, frozen in place at the sight of the ice bullets that could pierce through castle walls.

I continued to demonstrate earth and wind magic, and finally, it came time to showcase healing magic.

At this stage, I had already shown a considerable range of abilities, but Maple Leaf was strangely fixated on healing magic. It would be safer to demonstrate it as well.

“Now, my final demonstration is healing magic. Is there anyone here who is injured?” I asked.

Everyone’s gaze naturally turned toward the bearded knight in a cape and Aldo.

“… So, you really can use healing magic, just as reported?” Aldo said in a slightly hoarse voice.

Now, all eyes were on me. Apparently, he had received some reports from Kathy or someone else. This meant that, like Gem, he must have assumed anything he didn’t understand or anything outside of his common sense was a lie or fabrication.

I met his gaze squarely and nodded. “Yes. I believe I received high praise from Balblair and Award.”

Aldo seemed about to say something but then fell silent again. I didn’t know what words he had swallowed, but it seemed he was struggling with various thoughts.

Then Kathy spoke up, breaking the silence.

“… That’s a lie! No way can you use healing magic too…!” Kathy shouted, vehemently denying my words.

I tilted my head slightly in response. “Those two have acknowledged that my magic is on the same level as that of a saint or saintess. You can verify it with them yourself. Furthermore, my healing magic is something anyone can learn to use.”

Kathy was rendered speechless, and an oppressive silence settled over the area.
