Chapter 103 - This Time for Sure
Transferred to Another World and Became a Teacher
I requested another audience with the soldier at the gate and was quickly led into what seemed to be an office.
Aldo looked up from behind the desk. Just like Kathy, he looked at me with eyes filled with hostility. âIs there still something you need?â
His cold voice caused Shenley to gasp.
I stood in front of the shrinking Shenley and met Aldo's gaze directly. âMr. Aldo, I finally understand. Youâre trying to make Shenley drop out because youâre concerned about Gem, the court magician, arenât you? I donât know what he told you, but I will handle Shenley and her family. You may find it hard to believe, but please trust me on this.â
I earnestly tried to persuade him, but Aldoâs expression remained unchanged.
He tucked his chin and narrowed his eyes, seemingly contemplating my words for several seconds. â⦠First, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I am not being threatened by Lord Gem. Rather, I support the idea of enhancing Maple Leafâs strengths as Lord Hinek proposes.â
âGem's way of thinking⦠I feel heâs resistant to change. Moreover, if the standards of other countries rise in the future, Maple Leafâs healing magic may not remain at a significant advantage,â I candidly expressed my thoughts.
Aldo sharpened his gaze in irritation and said emotionally, âOn what grounds do you say that? I canât ascertain the state of magical research in other countries since the information is confidential, but numerous nobles and royals from other countries come to Maple Leaf for our healing magic. That should be answer enough.â
But I outright denied his opinion. âThat was the Maple Leaf of the past. The future will be different. It may take two or three years, but I firmly believe it will happen.â
âThen, why is thatâ¦â
Feeling that both of us were gradually getting heated, Aldo stopped mid-sentence and fell silent. He clicked his tongue lightly and jerked his chin slightly. âSpeak your reason. Do you have any evidence to support such absurd claims?â
I immediately nodded. âItâs simple. From now on, I will greatly improve the magic levels of each country. Within a year, I will travel around the Six Great Nations, and within three years, I will gather magicians from each nation at Fiddiq Academy for training. As a result, the magical research in each country will make significant progress. Consequently, the superiority of Maple Leafâs healing magic will crumble, but in return, other types of magic that have been lagging behind will reach a high level.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
I briefly explained my plans for the future and waited for Aldoâs reaction.
Aldo blinked in astonishment, quickly morphing into a grimace as if he had bitten into something sour. â⦠I understand the reason. However, itâs far too absurd. No matter how excellent Fiddiq Academy is, the court magicians of each nation are undoubtedly superior magicians. Maple Leaf has the mission of passing down the best healing magic among the Six Great Nations, so it is often the saints or saintesses who lead the magic academy. Typically, the most skilled magicians in a nation become court magicians. In other words, you could say that the faculty at the academy consists of those who couldnât become court magicians. Even if itâs Fiddiq Academy, to claim you can teach magic to the court magicians of other countries is far too arrogant.â
Aldo spoke in a strong tone. It was clear he didnât trust me at all, which was somewhat frustrating. However, it was understandable that someone who had never left Maple Leaf would have such a perception.
After all, even the Holy City Magic Academy and the court magicians of the Holy City shared that view. It was certainly a natural response. Therefore, I decided to break that common sense.
âI understand. Then, letâs conduct a test. Iâll take any test regarding magic that you wish. Please use a method that you find satisfactory.â I looked him straight in the eye.
Aldo snorted and crossed his arms. â⦠You have quite a bit of confidence. In that case, why donât you demonstrate advanced magic in the basic elements of fire, water, earth, wind, and healing? There are only a handful of magicians in my viscounty who can use advanced magic. There are very few people in the Holy City who can use multiple elements. If you are claiming something as bold as you can teach magic in various countries, you should at least be able to use advanced magic, right?â
In response to Aldoâs challenging attitude, I nodded deeply. âNo problem. I will show you.â
