Chapter 73
The Beginning Of All Sins
Olivia remained silent, uncertain of how to respond to Anaâs words.
After that, Ana didnât mention anything more.
As they arrived at the Harris residence, Olivia found herself in the midst of a lively and elegant gathering. She didnât recognize anyone and was surrounded by sophisticated and majesticâlooking people who seemed to be having a great time, laughing and chatting around Maisy.
A woman around Anaâs age approached them and asked, âWho is this, Ana?â
With a smile, Ana replied, âTylerâs new girlfriend.â
The woman who had approached them was taken aback. âWhat? Tylerâs new girlfriend? But isnât Tyler with Naomiâ¦â
She stopped herself midâsentence, and Ana smiled, gesturing toward Olivia. âSay hi, Olivia.â
Feeling uncomfortable, Olivia felt like she was being punished. She hesitated and remained silent.
Ana sensed Oliviaâs reluctance and decided not to push her further, saying, âLetâs go, Olivia. I think Grandma misses you.â
As they walked through the living room, Olivia felt the curious stares of the people present, making her even more uneasy. She finally called out when they reached Maisy, âGrandma.â
Maisy was delighted with her and commented, âWhat a good girl. Iâm happy with Tylerâs choice this time,â looking at Olivia as if she were her future granddaughterâinâlaw.
Ana said, âIâm happy that youâre happy. Arenât you going to pour Grandma tea, Olivia?â She looked at Olivia coldly.
Despite her discomfort, Olivia complied.
Tyler didnât arrive at the Harris residence until six in the evening. Olivia had been there all day by then.
One of his younger cousins approached him excitedly, exclaiming, âYouâve got a new girlfriend, Tyler?!â
Taken aback for a moment, Tyler soon found himself being questioned by various family members.
âTyler, why didnât you tell us that you got a new girlfriend? We heard it from your mom,â one of his aunts said.
He quickly realized who had spread the false news. Not responding to their questions, he scanned the room until he spotted Olivia standing under the light.
The family members had made Olivia drink, and by the time Tyler found her, she was standing unsteadily next to a table, looking at him with a dazed expression.
âTyler.â Struggling to maintain her balance, Olivia tried her best to stand still.
Tyler asked the people around, âWho made her drink?â
The girl next to him immediately raised her hand. âIt wasnât me, Tyler. I didnât make her drink.â
He then looked at Ana, who was standing next to Maisy. âOf course, we drink at the family dinner. Itâs a happy occasion.â
He walked toward Olivia. Seeing him approach, Olivia instinctively moved toward him, swaying slightly.
âIâI wanted to drink,â she explained, her words slurred.
The scent of alcohol clung to her, and Tylerâs expression turned cold.
