Chapter 183
The Beginning Of All Sins
âYes, itâs me. Weâve just left my family home,â Tyler replied.
Hillaryâs tone changed instantly. âIâm asking Olivia to get ready for a body checkâup today.â
âSheâll do it in two days,â Tyler said calmly.
Hillary thought she heard him wrong. âTylerâ¦â
Cutting her off, Tyler reiterated, âThere are still matters we need to handle after the banquet.â
Hillary fell silent, not daring to defy his stance. âAlright, sheâll do it in two days,â she relented finally.
âMmâhmm,â Tyler affirmed shortly before ending the call.
Handing the phone back to Olivia, he offered, âYou can say no if youâre not ready for it yet.â
Olivia held her phone quietly, while Tyler said nothing more.
When they arrived at Sandalwood Palace, Olivia got out of the car while Tyler remained seated, watching her for a moment before rolling up the window and driving off.
The maid greeted Olivia upon her arrival. âMissâ¦â She paused, correcting herself. âMaâam.â
In truth, Olivia was uncomfortable with the situation. She felt uneasy being around her. Initially moving in as a guest due to her sisterâs invitation, she now found herself in the unexpected position of being the lady of the house.
She avoided the maidâs gaze, feeling like an imposter in her own home.
âIâm tired, so Iâll go to the bedroom now to rest,â Olivia quickly said..
1 The maid nodded understandingly. âOf course.â
Olivia headed straight upstairs, where she remained for the rest of the day.
That evening, when Tyler returned home, he asked the maid, âWhere is she?â
âSheâs been upstairs since coming home. She hasnât come down or eaten anything,â the maid reported.
Without a word, Tyler nodded and headed upstairs. Initially intending to go to the master bedroom, he changed course at the last moment, entering Oliviaâs room instead.
Startled, Olivia sat up as Tyler opened the door. He stood at the doorway, then approached her, stopping by the bed.
âFreshen up and join me for dinner,â he said.
Having slept most of the day, Olivia looked disoriented, resembling a child unwilling to get out of bed.
She didnât sleep much last night, so she was exhausted.
After a momentâs hesitation, Olivia nodded. âOkay,â she agreed softly.
Tylerâs shadow loomed over her. He soon left her, taking his shadow with him. She stayed seated, bathed in the dim light filtering through the curtains.
Dinner was served by the maid, who had abandoned her previous formalities and treated Olivia with cautious respect.
Olivia, taken aback by the sudden change, ate in silence.
âShe said you didnât come down for dinner today,â Tyler remarked from across the table.
âI wasnât hungry,â Olivia replied simply.
âAre you sick?â
âNo.â
Tyler didnât press further. âJust eat,â he instructed, picking up the cutlery and starting to eat. Finally, Olivia began to eat too.
