Chapter 162
The Beginning Of All Sins
âAre you sulking?â he asked.
Olivia wasnât exactly sulking. It wasnât just about him failing to wake her upâit was more about how he seemed to have taken his steam out of her lately. âNo,â she replied defiantly. âIf thereâs nothing else, Iâll be heading out. Thanks.â
Tyler knew the real issue but didnât seem interested in fixing it. âStay tonight. We donât want rumors starting.â
They had just gotten âmarried,â and with his dad back home, they had to show some respect. Olivia realized she couldnât act however she pleased without caring about consequences anymore.
After a moment, Olivia gave in. âFine.â
Tyler let go of her arm. âThatâs settled. Youâre free to do whatever else you like. There arenât many rules here.â
He left, leaving Olivia feeling neglected. The IVF had been forced on them, so why was he treating her like sheâd wanted this all along?
Meanwhile, Colleen had already started gossiping. By the time Tyler came downstairs, Maisy had heard everything. âDid you two have a fight?â:
âColleen told you?â Tyler asked.
âShe said you made her cry!â Maisy glared. âHow could you treat her like that? Sheâs your wife, not one of your employees! You need to be more considerate. Sheâs just a young girl who recently started college. Youâre more mature than her!â
Tyler nodded, trying to placate her. âUnderstood. Iâll keep that in mind.â
Maisy wasnât buying any of that, âSure you will. Honestly, canât you treat her with a bit more enthusiasm? You just got married!â
Tylerâs frown deepened, but he held back his retort. âI know. I donât need you to remind me, Grandmother.â
âGood. Off you go, then. I canât believe I have to teach you how to be a husband.â
Colleen hadnât just told Maisy; sheâd also informed Ana. Tyler ran into them while wandering in the garden. He noticed his mother giving him knowing glances as Colleen rambled on.
Tyler glared at Colleen, who quickly shut her mouth.
Ana smiled as she arranged flowers. âDonât worry, Colleen. Tyler loves his wife. He knows how to treat her right, doesnât he?â She emphasized âloves his wifeâ loudly enough for Tyler to hear.
He looked on coldly.
Meanwhile, Olivia composed herself before leaving the room. Colleen approached her in the main hall, hugging her arm. âAre you okay? Tyler didnât mistreat you, did he?â
âNâNo! He didnât. Not at all.â
