Chapter 146
The Beginning Of All Sins
The assistant waited patiently for Olivia to make up her mind. After some time, Olivia spoke up, âIâve made my decision. Iâm sure about it.â
âSo, youâre going ahead with the marriage procedures?â the assistant clarified.
âYes.â
âAlright, Iâll inform Mr. Tyler of your decision. Please get ready.â The assistant meant for Olivia to gather her papers and documents.
As the assistant left in her car, Oliviaâs face was pale with nerves.
A concerned maid approached her. âAre you alright?â she asked, worried.
Olivia stared at her silently.
âAre you okay, Ms. Olivia?â the maid asked again, gently touching her shoulder.
Pushing the maidâs hand away, Olivia replied, âIâm just a bit tired. Iâm going to bed.â
That night, Tyler didnât return home. Olivia lay awake, unable to sleep until morning.
Even on the third day, Tyler hadnât come back. It was noon when she heard a car engine, signaling Tylerâs return. She hid in her room.
The door opened, but when she looked up, it wasnât Tyler. It was his personal assistant.
Clearly surprised to find Olivia curled up in her room, the assistant asked, âUm⦠Ms. Olivia, have you prepared your documents?â
âHuh?â Olivia was taken aback. âIâm going to do it alone?â
The assistant explained, âThe procedure can start today. Mr. Tyler will join you shortly. Heâs at the hospital right now.â
Olivia hadnât expected things to move so quickly. She didnât know how to react.
After a long pause, the assistant looked at her expectantly. Olivia knew she couldnât delay any longer.
âIâll get changed.â
Having stayed home for so long, Olivia looked a bit disheveled and not quite presentable for the occasion.
âIâll wait outside,â the assistant said.
Olivia never imagined her marriage would be like thisâto a man she barely knew, who had once only glanced at her when she was fifteen. He was a stranger then.
And now, in a bizarre turn of events, he was going to be her husband.
She left her room in a simple dress and minimal makeup. Despite everything, her youthfulness brought out her beauty.
