Joy disliked Serenity. Joy had been very displeased after Serenity’s accident. She would often hear people talking about the end of the Shaw family, and this made her feel ashamed. It had gone on until her brother had started dating Jenny. Finally, no one said that anymore.

“Serenity is someone who brings bad luck to us. Fortunately, you broke up with her in time. She isn’t worthy of you at all. I heard she’s cleaning the streets now. She’s such a disgrace. Why did the judge sentence her to only three years in prison? I think she should stay in jail for a decade or two!”

Joy spoke of Serenity with disgust. The more she spoke, the more frightened Zeke became.

After all, he knew Serenity was with Jackson! Jackson had not explicitly explained his relationship with her, but Zeke could somewhat guess as a man himself.

“Enough, Joy. Don’t talk about her anymore. When you see Serenity, you’d better be more polite,” Zeke warned.

Joy complained with displeasure, “Zeke, what’s wrong with you?! You didn’t say anything when I spoke of her before! Why are you defending her now?”

“Zeke, you’re not still in love with her, are you?” Marcia asked, feeling, worried.

Hearing that, David frowned. “Don’t even think about it. Serenity isn’t welcome here!”

Zeke felt troubled. The truth was not the same as they thought. Unfortunately, he could not explain it clearly.

Zeke gritted his teeth and warned, “I don’t have any feelings for her, but she’s not someone we can offend! All I can say is don’t offend the wrong person!”

“Don’t offend the wrong person?” Joy scoffed. “Zeke, what nonsense are you saying? Serenity is just a sanitation worker. Why can’t we offend her?”

“Anyway, just listen to me. Don’t ruin the family!” Zeke warned sharply.

David was experienced and had gone through a great deal more than his children. When he saw his son’s overreaction, he sensed something strange. “Zeke, is Serenity..

David fell into deep thought, and Marcia was silent too. Only Joy brushed it off with disdain. She did not believe her brother’s warning at all, and she did not want to respect Serenity either. Zeke was obviously still in love with Serenity and giving them
