Chapter 18

Civil War (Jackson vs Ochard)

Project Unfinished

Kalen continued, "I was born in Chad. But my mom and dad broke up. So me and my mom moved here, and my dad and younger brother live in Libya now."

"So, you're from Africa?" Jackson asked.

"In a way, yes." Kalen answered.

"Okay, I automatically hate this kid," Ochard revealed.

"Well I don't," Jackson shot back.

"Why do you hate him?" Ethan asked.

"Well it's because he's...he's... foreign," Ochard stuttered.

"Well so are you!" Ethan yelled.

"But that's different," Ochard complained.

"Everyone that agrees with me, stand by me," Jackson said.

Bethany, Fred, and Ethan stood by Jackson.

"And all that side with me," Ochard began.

Zak and Greg stood by Ochard.

"Sorry Jackson but he's my best friend," Zak said.

"But, I thought I was your best friend," Fred said.

"I'm betting that Zak is only siding with Ochard because he thinks Ochard is hot," said Bethany.

"I do NOT!" Zak denied.

But the truth was, he did believe that.

"But what about you Greg?" Ethan frantically asked, "Why do you side with Ochard?"

"Because I'm supposed to be Jackson's enemy." Greg answered, truthly.

"But what about Dan?" Bethany added.

"Well sorry but I'm not going to be on the same team with that MONSTER!" Dan said.

"Excuse me, since when was I a monster?" Fred questioned.

"Not you! I'm talking about Bethany!" Dan screamed, "She just swiped Jackson right out of my hands!"

Dan walked to Ochard.

All that was left was: Wayne, Austin and Kalen.

Ochard said, "I don't think Kalen should be included in this. We're fighting over if he should join or leave."

Jackson threw in, "Yeah, I agree with you on that one."

Wayne walked to Jackson's side. "Ethan and I will be best bros forever, no matter what happens."

Ochard then said, "Well I guess Austin is with us."

Then Austin said, "Yay I'm with you, Zak. You know what they say, 'like son, like father'. Or is it the other way around?"

Zak rolled his eyes.

Kalen pulled out a bag of candy and sat down on a log. He began to munch down on the candy.

Jackson spoke up, "Then I guess it's settled. Civil War: Jackson vs Ochard. One team wins if the other team is completely killed or gives mercy."

Wayne flinched, "Don't you think that's a little harsh?"

Everyone ignored him.

Ochard exclaimed, "It's on."

Wayne said again, "Don't you think that's a little harsh?"

"No," said everyone else at the same time, minus Ethan.

"Once again, out voted," Ethan and Wayne whispered.
