Chapter 14-

I opened my eyes slowly, adjusting to the semi darkness and horrible smell. I lifted my head a little and noticed how dirty the walls were, and the fact that I was sitting up. I looked down and realized I was tied to a chair, hands behind my back, and arms aching.

Where the hell was I?

Oh fuck.

Where was Paige? Is she okay?

I moved my arms around, testing the looseness and figuring out there was none. Fuck.

I sat there for a minute before I was jolted by the door slamming against the wall behind it. A gush of somewhat fresh air flew into the room, and even though I had no clue what was going on, that air did feel good. I looked up into mean brown eyes, pitch black hair, moving my gaze down I noticed a fit man about 30, wearing a scowl and a nice suit. If he wasn't holding me hostage I'd almost think he was attractive.

He grabbed a chair and sat down in front of me, then crossed his arms.

"Erik, right?"

I looked at him, debating on whether to answer but decided I would probably be in a world of pain if I didn't. Excuse the cliché. I nodded and he smirked at my nonverbal answer.

"Do you know why you're here right now?"

I felt my anger bubble up, I didn't deserve this shit.

"Not a fucking clue."

His mouth twitched at my anger, and I felt myself scowling even deeper at him.

"Why am I here and why the hell am I tied up like some hostage?"

"Do you know Casey Hyatt?"

I looked at him in confusion before I realized he was talking about Trent's brother.

"What the hell? No, I don't know him."

"Well I think you're lying."

"I'm not lying asshole. I know Trent, but I've never met any of his family."

"We were led to believe that you might know Casey, be dealing with him, and I believe them more than I believe you."

"Well then you're an idiot and an asshole. Dealing? I don't fucking think so. I work in a cubicle!"

He lunged and punched me in the stomach before I could even blink, leaving me wheezing for breath. I coughed and sat back up.

"I don't know who is telling you that, but I don't hang out with Casey."

I desperately wanted to ask about Paige, but if they didn't know about her than I didn't want to give them that information. As hard as it was, I had to stay quiet.

He leaned back and crossed his arms again, grinning. Enjoying the fact that he hurt me.

Oooh, what a tough guy. Asshole.

I adjusted my body and sat back. Waiting.

We stared at each other and he finally sighed.

"You're hiding something, and I intend to find out what it is. At the very least you spend time with Trent and that's enough to have you here."

I groaned "I'm not hiding anything, and I doubt that, you imbecile."

He glared "Insult me one more fucking time, I dare you."

He pulled a gun out of his jacket and laid it on the ground. It was when I looked down at the gun that I saw a slumped over figure out of the corner of my eye. What the hell?

I looked back at the gun with a little fear "No, I'm good."

"Yeah, that's what I thought."

I coughed and sat there awkwardly.

"So how long have you and Trent been dating?"

I jerked my head to look at him, stunned. How did he know that?

"Dating?" I asked, in a daze. Was this guy watching us?

"Yeah, dating. From the phone tap we can tell you guys are intimate."

"That's disturbing."

He shrugged, not feeling bad at all for invading our privacy.

"We have money owed to us, and we want it. We'll do whatever it takes." Implying that he would hurt me far worse if he did not get information he liked.

"Listen. You guys are wasting my time and yours."

"Maybe, maybe not. But you can still be used."

Used?

Wait. Were they going to keep me until Trent or Casey could come up with the money? Was it even the money this guy was after?

Oh, fuck me.

"Used?"

He grinned "Yeah, maybe we could even have some fun."

With that he stood up, grabbed the gun, and walked out the door before slamming it.

Fun? Ew. That's even more disturbing. Why would they think I knew something? And who the hell were they talking to? I couldn't think of anyone who would tell them that, and no one else who knew what Trent had told me.

So, it had to be someone Trent knew.

But who the hell would want me to disappear, or get hurt at least? Who would want to hurt Trent like that? I twisted my arms in frustration, wanting nothing more than to get out of here. Ugh. He may be an idiot, but that guy can tie a knot. I let my head fall back. How long was I going to be here? Hopefully, I could get out before the fun started. God, Paige is probably crying and freaking out. Those idiots were upsetting my daughter, and that just made me angrier.

I suddenly heard a moan from the slumped figure and tensed. I realized it was a man. He shifted and moaned again. He slowly rolled to his back and started blinking his eyes open. He finally opened his eyes fully and looked around, making eye contact with me.

"Who the fuck are you?" he rasped.
