Mother Shi replied weakly, “Am I wrong? Look at him. There are so many wonderful women on earth, but he just had to choose the one from Mu family instead.”

Shi Beiyu furrowed his brows and replied in a crystal clear voice, “What happened that year had nothing to do with her. She’s innocent.”

“So what?!” Mother Shi glared.

“Even though it had nothing to do with her, it still doesn’t change the fact that she’s that woman’s sister! And… she was there too!”

Shi Beiyu looked at Mother Shi confusedly. “This happened 12 years ago. What can arguing over it do? Do you plan to live the rest of your life in hatred?”

“You…” Mother Shi’s finger trembled in anger.

If she had not taken her pills earlier on, her asthma would most probably trigger again.

The crease on Shi Beiyu’s forehead deepened as he stood up from the sofa. “Have a good rest. I need to attend to some affairs in the company, so I’ll be leaving now.”

Upon saying so, he strode towards the door.

Mother Shi stomped her feet in anger. “You! Get back here! You better break up and cut all ties with her!”

However, Shi Beiyu pretended not to hear anything as he walked out of the building without looking back. Eventually, he vanished from their sights.
