Father Gu’s eye twitched in anger. “How is this ruining Yifan? She’s trying to drag down the entire Gu family with her! Every single one of you buffoons is nothing but incompetent fools!”

Father Gu immediately cut the call after he yelled at Madam Gu.

What was done was done, and his anger would not turn back time.

Madam Gu hated Mu Siyin so much that she could skin the latter alive!

“Rest well, Yifan. I’m heading back to the company for an update now.”

If Father Gu had to call her, then the situation at the company must be really bad. That was why she had to make a trip back to the company.

Gu Yiling insisted on going along with Madam Gu, so only Gu Yifan and Mu Xingyu were the ones left in the hospital room now.

Gu Yifan was touched by Mu Xingyu’s words and reciprocated by holding her hand back. His voice was guilt-ridden as he said, “I’m sorry that you have to go through this.”

Mu Xingyu shook her head emotionally. “It’s nothing. You’re the one that matters most to me.”

Gu Yifan narrowed his eyes and growled. “We must make them pay for every single thing they have done!”

“Yeah.”

Mu Xingyu had just nodded her head when Gu Yiling’s cries came through the door. “Brother, Big Sister Xingyu, something bad has happened!”

The duo froze when they heard this.

Gu Yifan instinctively sat up, but the pain spread through his body the moment he moved. His face paled in agony.

“Big Sister Xingyu… Go take a look at my mom…”

Gu Yiling looked pathetic as she rushed into the room. Her hair was standing in every direction, and her eyes were bloodshot.

Mu Xingyu was stunned to see this. “What happened, Yiling?”

Gu Yiling choked as she said, “We just got downstairs when a group of reporters suddenly swamped us. There were too many people, and Mom accidentally fell down. As the crowd trampled on her, she broke her arm and was brought into the emergency department. Come and wait with me outside her surgery room.”

Gu Yifan and Mu Xingyu were shocked.

‘Misfortunes never come alone.’ Perhaps this is what that proverb meant.

Mu Siyin had no idea about Madam Gu’s condition. She hurriedly gave Shi Beiyu a call as soon as she had her lunch break.

After a long time, Shi Beiyu finally answered.

Mu Siyin instantly said, “I thought that you wouldn’t pick up.”

Shi Beiyu replied in a deep voice, “I was busy just now. Where’s your phone? Why can’t my calls get through?”

Shi Beiyu had called her earlier on, but she did not answer her phone.

Mu Siyin knitted her brows together and grunted softly. “I bumped into Busybody Gu when I arrived this morning, and she smashed my phone on the floor.”

The light in Shi Beiyu’s eyes dimmed. “Did she bully you?”

“No way! I would never give her what she wants.”

“Good.”

Mu Siyin laughed. “You really got your men to leak those tapes in time! Thank you!”

Shi Beiyu’s reply was generous. “I don’t want you to thank me this way.”

Mu Siyin did not give it much thought as she raised her eyebrows. “What do you want me to do instead?”

Shi Beiyu whispered, “You know what I want.”

Understanding what he meant, Mu Siyin blushed and whispered, “What are you thinking? It is still broad daylight!”

Shi Beiyu chuckled before teasing, “Then, you should show me your gratitude tonight.”
