Chapter 468
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison
âSorry. Iâll take this call first.â
Robert took the phone and walked outside. Georgia sat opposite Vincent.
âMr. Poole, you can just tell me the results. Iâll tell Robert about it later.â
âThe childâs situation isnât serious. Heâs only a few years old and a childâs memories arenât that stable in the first place. Theyâre easily guided. It was just a simple trick to get him to forget all about his past.â
Georgia loosened, then asked concernedly.
âMr. Poole, can you help Wesley recover his memory? I donât understand it too well, but can you reverse this type of hypnosis? If you can, Iâd appreciate your help.â
âTheoretically, itâs possible. If one can be hypnotized into losing their memory and instead getting a new one crafted, one can naturally recover them as well. But even to an adult with a strong will, if they get their memories muddled from hypnosis, once their real memories recover, itâs possible their fake memories will get mixed up with their real ones and affect their understanding of the world around them. You know about split personalities?
Theyâll make worlds for themselves. Weâve experienced things like this in our line of work. Sometimes, some people canât take the fake memories and their real memories all mixed together, and can no longer tell them apart.
âFor Wesley, heâs too young. He never had a deep understanding of the world around him in the first place. If I tried to recover his real memories, he might not be able to tell them apart at all. He could end up as I described, gathering those fake memories into a persona that could affect his main personality and his mindscape. I donât suggest recovering his past memories. Heâs too young and might not have a good grasp of his real memories.
He still canât tell whatâs real and fake yet.â
Georgia understood Vincentâs meaning.
It was doable, but once done, it was possible to mix the real and fake consciousness together and affect a personâs regular cognition.
To Wesley, who was still a small child, it was an even higher probability.
So Vincent advised against it.
âI understand. If thatâs a possibility, then we might as well give up. Heâs happy now, and to him, there werenât many memories before he was six anyway. Itâs not that important whether he remembers them or not.â
The only important thing that Wesley could remember was who he was, and even though Georgia really wanted to know that, she wasnât willing to take such a huge risk of hurting a childâs mental condition.
All just for a somewhat important bit of information.
Vincent smiled and nodded.
âI thought the same way too. Heâs only six. Six-year-olds donât have that much memory of their past life anyway, and itâs not too important to forget them. Itâs with adults that losing too much of your memory really affects their lives.â
Georgia let it go.
She found it a bit strange, though, that Robert still wasnât back after taking the call.
She turned to Vincent and smiled apologetically.
âMr. Poole, rest up for now. Iâll tell Robert the results. He seems to be occupied, and Iâll go over to see him.â
Georgia got up and made to leave, while Vincent mentioned something else.
âI hear you two might be headed overseas. Is that true?â
Georgia nodded.
âI have a friend where youâre heading and heâs going to have his birthday soon. I have a gift for him. Can you do me a favor and bring it over to him?â
Georgia naturally agreed with a smile. Then she got out, and found that Robert was still taking his call with phone in hand next to the window, his expression heavy.
Georgia walked over, hearing what he was saying.
âGive the Holland family full assistance and use our own forces to run the search. Iâve already had them send out the appearance of the childâs appearance. Look everywhere.â
Robert hung up and saw Georgia standing by him.
âJasperâs in trouble. Selenaâs kid, Dan, has gone missing.â
Georgiaâs faced changed, growing worried.
âWhy the sudden disappearance? The Holland family should have tough security. Who did it?â
âOne of their servants suddenly betrayed them and stole the child. Drugged him in the evening so he couldnât cry, then smuggled him out in a box.
The servantâs car is in the junkyard now and security footage doesnât show where the child is. The Holland family hasnât gotten any calls demanding ransom yet. Itâs a predicament right now, and Iâve already sent my own people over to help Jasper and his family find the children. No clues so far.â
Georgia felt a surge of fear.
âOur familyâs servants and bodyguards get checked going out, right?â
She asked Robert that, and he nodded heavily.
âThatâs always been a rule. With whatâs happened at Jasperâs side, Iâll have everyone get even stricter. I know what youâre worried about. I wonât let Wesley and Annie come to harm.â
âShould we go meet Jasper? He must be busy. The kidâs Selenaâs after all. Speaking of that, Selena helped me with so much before, and I donât know if I can do anything to help her out instead... no, Iâll give Wilson a call right away. Your fatherâs side has a lot of connections and power too. Have Wilson help them out. Wait, Iâll call him...â
As Georgia finished, she took out her phone and called Wilson about it.
Afterwards, she sent Robertâs details over to Wilson too, having him send his subordinates to search.
As they finished talking about that, Georgia and Robert drove over to the Holland family.
The two felt that they still needed to pay Jasper and the others a visit.
When they arrived, Jasonâs car also arrived at the door of the Holland family. Jason had brought Miranda over.
The group went over to the Hollands.
It was past midnight, and Jasper and Selena werenât there when Georgia and Robert arrived.
Bailey and Elliot were there, though, sitting with heavy expressions in the living room. Husband and wife looked nervous and worried.
âRobert, Jason, Georgia, Miranda. Thank you for coming to visit.â
Bailey forced a polite greeting.

âWhy arenât Jasper and Selena home?â
