Chapter 437
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison
âIs the surgery over yet?â
âJust over. Elsieâs out of danger. The doctors are wheeling her into the ward. I arranged for her to be put in a room on your floor. Sheâll be two rooms away. Iâll be over in a moment. Donât panic. Take the kids and wait for me.â
Georgia heaved a sigh of relief. Thank goodness Elsie was fine.
âWhat about Wilson? Whatâs his condition?â
âHeâs kept quiet and stayed outside the operating room. I wanted to talk to him but he ignored me. I think he must be too worried. Heâs with me heading to Elsieâs room.â
âThe children told me that Wilsonâs wounded too. Have the hospital get a nurse over there to bandage him. Heâs definitely going to disregard his own body, so get him to do it.â
Robert blinked, then lifted his head to look at Wilson.
Wilson was following the nurse and doctors as they pushed Elsieâs bed. His face was cold and silent, while his gaze was fixed on Elsie and no one else.
He was wearing a black jacket. Looking over, only then did Robert see the red blood seeping from his arm. The color of Wilsonâs clothes was too deep, and people hadnât even noticed.
The way Wilson looked, he didnât seem too concerned with his wound.
âIâve got it. Iâll have a nurse treat the wound for him.â
Robert hung up and they stepped into the elevator. He stood at the Wilsonâs side and spoke to him.
âYour armâs still bleeding. You should have it bandaged.â
This time, Wilson finally looked at Robert and responded.
âItâs just a minor wound. Nothing for you to be concerned about.â
âIf you donât bandage that wound, do you want to have other people take care of Elsie for the next few days? Or do you want her to watch your drag your injured body around to take care of her, making her worried? Mr. Weaver, you have to look after your own body before you protect others and take care of others.â
At that, Wilson fell silent for a long while.
Only after Elsie was inside her room did he turn to Robert and speak.
âIâll get a nurse to bandage the wound. Look over Elsieâs room for me and donât leave for the moment. Iâm not too confident in other people.â
Seeing that Wilson seemed to have taken his words to heart, Robert nodded.
When Wilson left, Georgia had taken the two kids and come outside Elsieâs bedroom escorted by bodyguards.
The two sides were just a few meters apart and coming wasnât an issue.
The two kids now knew that their Auntie Elsie was safe, and their faces showed relief.
But before going into Elsieâs room, Georgia turned to Annie and Wesley.
âAuntie Elsieâs just gotten out of surgery and needs to rest. Donât talk when you go inside, and keep it quiet if you have any needs. Once you see Auntie Elsie, follow me to the room and rest, okay?â
âI can do it, Mommy.â
Annie slapped her chest confidently, while Wesley also smiled at Georgia.
âI wonât be noisy with Auntie Elsie, Auntie Georgia. Iâll keep quiet.â
Georgia smiled and brought the two kids inside the room.
There was a slew of bodyguards outside the room already, while inside, it was just Elsie lying there and Robert sitting on the sofa.
Seeing the three of them come in, Robert stood, shot a worried look at Georgia, and turned to the kids.
âAre the two of you scared? Arenât you tired staying up so late?â
âDonât talk so loudly, Daddy, youâll wake Auntie Elsie.â
Annie spoke, her voice especially low, and Robert hurriedly apologized to the children.
âItâs Daddyâs fault. Go see Auntie Elsie, then.â
The family conversed quietly, and Georgia brought Annie and Wesley over to Elsieâs bedside.
The two children stared at Elsie, and after a while, they turned and grasped at Georgiaâs hand.
âMommy, Wesley and I have seen Auntie Elsie now. You can take us back now so Auntie Elsie can rest.â
Georgia shot a look at Robert.
Just at that moment, Wilson came inside.
He looked at the group inside the room, while Wesley and Annie walked concernedly to his side.
âAre you okay, Uncle Wilson? Have you treated your wound yet?â
Wilson crouched down and spoke gently to the children.
âIâm fine. Go back with your Mommy and rest for now. Auntie Elsie is only waking up tomorrow. Come see her then.â
After that, Robert and Georgia brought the two kids back to Georgiaâs own room.
This sort of luxury room had other beds for family members to sleep in anyway, so in the end, Robert brought Wesley to another bed and coaxed him to sleep.
Georgia let Annie lie in her own bed, and the two went to sleep together.
The most important thing for husband and wife to do now was of course to coax the children to sleep to avoid having them stay up some more.
Of course they didnât dare take the children home now. Without resolving this incident, neither of them dared to have their children anywhere they couldnât see.
And encountering something like this, the kids could get scared at night and have nightmares, which naturally meant their parents should be there.
They slept all the way until sunrise. Georgia had been hurt to begin with, and after Annie fell asleep, she drifted off completely.
Robert, though, saw his son asleep, and walked up to his wife and daughterâs bedside.
Seeing them all sleeping, he relaxed and left Georgiaâs room.
After that, he called Wilson over and asked about all the details of the night.
Wilson knew the whole chain of events, and Robert wanted to find out who was behind it tonight.
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison ï¤Chapter 436 Elsieâs Wounded The Unexpected Marriage ï¤Chapter 251 What's The Use Of You Have I Told You Lately ï¤Chapter 147 It must Feel Good to Have Him Drive Me to Work Heâd put people on the investigation already, but Wilson was capable, and heâd experienced everything tonight personally, and knew all the nitty gritty bits.
Investigating together with Wilson made it easier to find out the truth.
The two stood in the corridor, and Wilson started laying out his suspicions and speculations.
âI feel like those people were targeting me. If their target was Annie and Wesley, when I got out of the car, the people who managed to follow me would have tried their utmost to fire at the people inside the car, but I feel like they kept on trying to kill me and disregarded the other people in the car. Even the one who came to ambush us later was aiming for me.
âIf Elsie hadnât discovered the ambusher and thrown herself between me and the bullet, I might not just be wounded today, but dead outright.â
Which was to say, the target of tonight wasnât Robert and his two children.
Understanding Wilsonâs meaning, Robert faced him and spoke.
âDo you have any suspects, then?â
