Chapter 420
Daddy, Mommy had been in Prison
Kayden was walking particularly quickly. Georgia had only just started running.
As if realizing someone was chasing after her, Kayden started running too.
Following her stride, Georgia chased her into an elevator.
Naturally, Georgiaâs bodyguards also followed her into the elevator.
In an instant, Kayden and Georgia occupied the same space.
âIâm warning you, donât follow me!â
Kayden didnât look at Georgia and kept her eyes straight forward as she cautioned her.
âWhat are you doing in D City? And in this hospital too. Did you know that Aston was sick?â
At Georgiaâs words, Kaydenâs face changed.
Her expression was cold, and her voice chilling.
âDonât get close to me. Word of advice. Delete all of Robertâs experimental data in this hospital. Someoneâs looking into his body checkup report.â
Georgia trembled, and the elevator doors opened.
Georgia was going to chase up, while Kayden turned around and spoke directly to her.
âIf you follow me, youâll bring Robert even greater danger.â
At that, Georgiaâs footsteps came to a halt.
She watched Kayden walk out of the elevator, then watched the elevator doors slide shut. Kaydenâs words reverberated in her mind, making her whole body shake.
When the elevator stopped at another floor, she hurriedly got out and immediately gave Robert a call.
âWhere are you know? Are you at the hospital yet? Iâve got something important to tell you.â
Georgia herself hadnât realized that her voice was particularly panicky, while Robert heard it right away.
âHas something happened? Iâve just reached the ground floor of the hospital. Where are you? Iâll come see you right away.â
âThen come to the first floor. Iâm next to the elevator. Iâm coming over to see you now.â
Georgia got back into the elevator, fingers locked, her palm already seeping with sweat.
She recalled what Professor Lee had reminded her of in the beginning. With Kaydenâs warning and Robertâs current situation, a fearful Georgia didnât know what to do.
The elevator ride was less than a minute, but Georgia felt like sheâd experienced a century inside.
As the elevator doors slid open, Robert was waiting for her outside.
The man before her had just shown a smile when Georgia rushed over and gave him a hug.
âWhatâs with you? Why are you sticking to me like this all of a sudden?â
Robert seemed to find it amusing, but his tone was gentle.
âHug me tighter. Iâm scared.â
Robert rarely saw Georgia so afraid her emotions leaked, and his eyes deepened.
After he hugged her tight for a dozen seconds, Georgia felt her heart settle.
She hurriedly told Robert about how sheâd just seen Kayden, and what Kayden had cautioned her of.
âIâm really worried. Youâll have to take care of the hospital. Hurry up and call them and tell them to wipe your data. Right, and tell Ivan about it. Heâs the best one to deal with it. He knows the twists and turns of the hospital and heâd also know if they really wiped the data.
âProfessor Lee also reminded me â with your situation right now, if other people know, youâd attract more than just enemy attacks. Iâm even more worried that some forces in the shadows would take a shine to your bodyâs state and target you for it.â
Robertâs relaxed expression turned cold and guarded. He gripped Georgiaâs hand and kissed her forehead.
âDonât worry. Since weâve been warned about this, we can take precautions.
âIvanâs in the hospital. Iâll give him a call, and he can arrange it. Donât panic. It hasnât begin yet. If someoneâs really targeting me, with how Kayden put it, they mustnât have grasped too much information yet. Besides, with all the bodyguards around us, itâs hard to strike at us just like that.â
Georgia reined herself in and watched Robert give Ivan a call.
Afterwards, the three of them met in a break room inside the hospital.
Robert spoke about Georgia and Kayden and everything they were worried about, and Ivanâs face changed.
âItâs my fault. Back then when the check was being run, I should have considered this. I just felt that with the Simpsons as a family, regular people wouldnât have dared to target you. I was careless. For madmen or people who donât care anymore, who knows what theyâll do. The body checkup figures canât be leaked. If someone really did do something to your blood, thereâll be no defense.â
Ivan finished, then turned back to Robert and Georgia for a moment.
âWait here, you two. Georgia, tell me about all the departments you had Robert do the check in. Iâll go ask them about it in person and watch them destroy the information. I hope I can still make it.â
Georgia hurriedly sent the data on her phone to Ivan and watched him walk away.
For some reason, she wasnât reassured at all. Instead, she was more worried than ever.
Robert held her hands, his voice strong and gentle.
âDonât be afraid. The worst that could happen is for my body check data to be leaked. Thatâll just let people know what state Iâm in. I wouldnât be hurt at all. Donât act like the sky is collapsing.â
Georgiaâs eyes reddened, though, and she clutched at Robert.
âI know. I know weâre fine right now, and I know youâre doing well, but you donât understand. If they have your blood, they can work with it and work on it, then get a grasp of exactly whatâs going on in your body. They can even use your samples to create something specifically to target your body. You know how your system is in balance right now. What if they made something that could disrupt that balance? If you ingested it even by accident, Iâm afraid...â
Georgia didnât dare go on.
She didnât want to imagine the worst. Especially how Robert had been shut in the lab a year ago.
Georgia couldnât help but speak again in a panic.
âKayden warned me about this. Seems like she knows something. I suspect the data on you in the lab last year was leaked. Maybe someone received the data. Jayson Mathis couldnât have been the only person in this world to have found someone to do this sort of experiment. We have to be careful. We canât give anyone any openings.â
Georgia finished, after which Robert lightly patted her back and soothed her.
âDonât worry. Safety first, of course. With our status now, even if my body was fine, thereâd be people targeting us from the shadows to begin with.
This calls for caution. If you really donât feel like itâs safe, letâs pull Annie and Wesley out of school for now. Iâll hire a family tutor to give the kids lessons. With how smart those two are, theyâll just be missing some friends staying at home. When weâve resolved how weâve got enemies in the shadows and by our flank, they can still go to school.â
At Robertâs words, Georgia nodded.
âYouâre right. The school is too chaotic. A momentâs diversion and those people might use the children. We have to be on guard with this.â
The two finished talking about that, and Robert raised a question, curious.
âWhy do you think Kayden would warn you about this of her own volition? According to my knowledge, you could even say you two used to be enemies. Whyâs she suddenly being so kind as to warn us?â
