Humour & Inspirational stories

Crime without  any clueIt was an evening in Bangalore when two friends, Punda and Gunda, hailing from the village outside Bangalore, came to the city to purchase two large bronze lamps for house warming Ceremony of Gunda. His father gave 10000 Rupees to buy two lamps. As they roamed the city in the evening, they stumbled upon a peculiar shop, seemingly abandoned with its door  open and a mysterious message on a board:"Door is opened for you, customers are our God.Select what you want, check the price,Pay the money, cash or GPay,Take the item."Intrigued by this unusual setup, the friends felt a mischievous idea sprouting in their minds, fueled by the ample funds their father had entrusted them with for the purchase. Without hesitation, they swiftly plotted a devious plan.Retreating to their motor Cycle, they swiftly swapped the number plate and adorned helmets as disguise. Returning to the shop, they brazenly picked out two exquisite lamps, each costing more than Rs. 5000. With a sly grin, they absconded from the scene without making any payment, whether through GPay or cash, and sped back to their village with their stolen treasures. While journeying back, their elation led them to a charming bar and restaurant, where they indulged in a hearty meal, basking in their perceived cleverness. Confident in their meticulous evasion of leaving any clues behind, they took additional precautions by switching off their mobile phones, changing the number plate once more, and shedding their shirts for a different appearance, concealing their identities further.Their blissful ignorance was shattered when, a month later, the police descended upon their village and apprehended them. Confronted with the irrefutable evidence, both Punda and Gunda found themselves devoid of words and eventually admitted to their wrongdoing.Desperate for an explanation, they implored the inspector on how they had been tracked down. With a calm demeanor, the inspector revealed the intricacies of their unraveling. Despite their meticulous efforts, it was a seemingly insignificant  petstop for a cup of tea at a roadside stall on the outskirts of the city that ultimately led to their downfall. In a moment of oversight, unable to procure change for a Rs. 20 bill, they resorted to using GPay, triggering their mobile phone to be briefly activated. With this digital footprint, the police traced their signal, pinpointing their exact location and swiftly moving in for the arrest. Both Punda and Gunda were left in awe of the astuteness displayed by the inspector, realizing that no matter how carefully they had planned their heist, a single oversight had brought their grand scheme crashing down around them.CA  V.
