Chapter 22

SONG RIN'S POV

I was caught up with my mom for an hour before I got time to sneak out of our mansion and go back to Zee.

He was just there standing and waiting for me patiently. I walk to him immediately happily and him with a bright smile tug on his face.

"I'm so sorry Zee it took me long to come back. Mom just talk t" I instantly explain.

"It's okay, I didn't wait that long though." He replied. Then suddenly we both went silence as we stare at each other's eyes.

"You should go back now." Zee broke the silent between them.

"Why? Did you say you want to see me?" Rin ask as he felt like sulking. Why is Zee pushing him away when he just sneak out just to see him. Did he get tired of waiting for him.

"It's not like that Rin. I don't want you to have a conflict with your family if they'll know you came secretly to see me." He said reasoning out.

Now he even thinks of my wellbeing that think about himself who only care from far away just to see me.

"But I want to be with you too Zee." I said.

"Rin. What if they'll found out? I don't want you to have problems with your family Rin." He said.

"I shouldn't have come here. But I just really miss you."

"Then you shouldn't worry about my family." I say "Since you came here why don't we spend time to stroll again at Seoul, huh. Are you with me?" As I persuade him.

"Would that be okay with you?" He ask with uncertainty in his voice.

"More than sure Zee." I replied with a smile as he smile back at me.

"Okay if you're really that sure, then let's go" as he put up his hand so I can hold it. I smile before I take it eagerly.

We both walk out of the place and take a taxi.

I know spending time with Zee is worth than anything I could ever wanted. Even worth to be sneaking out with.

He doesn't want to care now about what his family might feel. He just wanted to be with Zee.

The secret meeting of the two doesn't stop there. Zee would always find himself going back and forth to Korea just to see Rin.

It's either they would meet up in some place or Zee would come to Rin's cafe or in his house secretly, as he would invite Song Rin in to spend time together.

And the secret meeting and time they spent had become a habit of them for two months. A time that becomes a precious memory that they created together.

Time passed their feelings for each other had grown stronger than ever.

"Where did you go dongseang?"

Song Rin got startled when his hyung suddenly talked while he was slowly closing the door.

"H- hyung! You're awake?" Rin asks nervously.

He had just come back from sneaking out awhile ago as Zee had come unannounced again in front of their house. He came without him knowing, as he said he had a planned meeting with his other business partner in Korea.

"Of course I'm awake dongseang, and I've been waiting here since you sneak out awhile ago." He said in serious tone.

Song Rin look down as he was felt guilty of what he had done.

"Why are you secretly seeing that Zee." He said again making Song Rin look at him immediately shock that his brother know that it was Zee he was secretly seeing with.

"Don't make anymore excuse Rin as I know why already." He continue as he used his name now indicating that his hyung is now in a serious mode.

He immediately look away couldn't really look at James in the eyes.

"I'm not gonna tell this to mom, but you must stay away from that Zee. That man only wants one thing and he wouldn't stop until you gave in to him" He said.

"But hyung. Where not doing anything wrong, and he's not like that." Song Rin defended.

"How do you know his not like that. Have you known him that long?" He ask but Song Rin stay silent. Even if they didn't know each other that long Rin could make sure Zee is not that kind of person.

"Either way dongseang. I'm sure that, that man is not good for you." James continue.

"How could you judge someone without knowing them fully hyung." Song Rin says.

"I don't have to know someone fully to know if they're good or not. That man would want one thing from you." James said before he look away. Song Rin doesn't want to fight with his hyung but hearing him said something about Zee without him knowing Zee at all is unfair for him.

"Zee is not like that hyung." Song Rin said in convection as he was defending Zee.

"Really. How could you know. You only just known him for what, three months? Those kind of people would only take advantage of you." James said trying to control his emotions as he doesn't want to hurt his brother in any way.

"And I don't need to know him longer for me to know if he's sincere or not, hyung." Song Rin said looking at his brother in the eyes making him see that he is serious on this.

"Then is meeting with you secretly making him a sincere kind of man, dongseang?" This time Song Rin couldn't fight back and only look down. He knows his brother was right.

In everyone's eyes what they are doing is wrong even if he could say they're not doing wrong. And meeting in secret makes it look even more worse.

But even though. He was the one at fault. Many times Zee would insist on meeting with his family but he would always decline as he knows this is what would happen.

They would make Zee stay away from him and Song Rin couldn't bear the idea that he wouldn't be seeing him ever again.

This time Song Rin look at his brother in the eyes.

"This is why I wouldn't dare to let you all meet him as I know this is what you would want me to do. You would just want me to stay away from him, and I don't want that, hyung. I like Zee and no one can make me stay away from him." He said looking James straight in the eyes.

"You like him, already?" His brother look at him unbelievably.

"I do like him so much hyung." He said holding back not to cry in front of his brother. This is the first time he admits to himself that he likes Zee and he hadn't told him about it yet.

Zee might have admitted his feelings for Rin but Rin just couldn't find the courage to tell him how he feels.

"So why can't you just let me be happy for ones hyung." He continued as his hyung looked so dumbfounded as he couldn't believe what he Song Rin said

"Eomma wouldn't be happy about this dongseang." He said when he finds the time to talk.

"What wouldn't I'll be happy about James?" They both look back as their mother was standing not far away from them.

Song Rin felt nervous of what his mother would say and do if ever she had heard all their conversation.

"We're just talking about him wanting to have a vacation alone." James making up a story to their mother.

"And why would you want an alone time vacation when you can't even drive or commute without anyone you trust by your side." Their mom said confused.

"That's what I said. He said he just wants to learn to do it on his own." James says as he look at Rin who only stay silent. He doesn't know why his brother would help him cover up for him.

"If you wanted to go on a vacation." As their mother looks at Song Rin.  "bring your brother and Yim with you, adeul." As she smile at him weakly.

"Ok eomma." Song Rin said as he nodded in response. While James look at Rin in worry.

"Okay. Let's all go back to sleep. It's already twelve midnight." As she holds both of his son's arm and walk to the upstairs.

James look at Song Rin and frown. Maybe it is really best that he didn't tell his mom about Song Rin and Zee, as he knows it would cause a big problem in their family.

THE PAST

"What did you say?" Her angry voice echoes the whole piano room.

"Eomma. I don't want to go to the evaluation." Song Rin replies looking down on his piano.

"We've come too far. Now you're not gonna do it?" As she look at him unbelievably.

"I can't perfectly play it eomma. I'm not gonna pass the evaluation." He said feeling hopeless. It's not just once he had thought of stopping, but it's many times already.

He knows he doesn't want any of this, and as she knows it too, but she would never listen.

"No! Song Rin. We've come this far and I won't let you just ruin it." She said, as she kicked the vase besides the piano.

He had already expected she would not like it and he is not surprised at all. She is always like this since he was young. Going all about if he wouldn't do what she wants for him to be excellent in this field. He just wanted to try again maybe this time she would listen.

She may have love him but at times he would thought that she was just obsessed of this dream that she wanted for him. She may give everything that a son could want, but in return he must also obey for the things she wanted.

"Eomma, please. I just can't do this anymore." He said begging for her to listen to him for once.

"We've talked about this before Song Rin. So stop asking about something I wouldn't approve of." She said in serious tone not wanting to hear more from him.

"Practice until you can perfectly execute the symphony ." As she turn around.

"Why won't you listen to me for once eomma no." He stands from the sit as he couldn't take it anymore. He had been obeying everything she wants for him since he was young. He can't go on with this anymore.

She stops and look at him.

"Listen? You want me to listen? Why would I, Song Rin. When all you just wanted is that pathetic dream of yours." She said.

"Eomma." He look at her with so much hurt.

"This is not what I wanted, but I do it for you. So why can't you do it for me to. All I want is for you to listen to me. Please eomma"he pleads as tears started to fall in his eyes

"My decision is final. Don't ask me to listen to you again about this." She looks away before she turn around and left him crying in despair.

There was nothing he could do to change his mothers mind so why did he even bother pleading.

But, would he really need to give up to chase some he doesn't want. All she wanted for me is to become a renowned pianist and that's what she wish to see.

Tomorrow is the day of the evaluation and be chosen to be trained by the most well known pianist in the world.

But instead of being happy, he was feeling so down.

If he could just change his mothers mind, but she wouldn't listen to him.

Right now he doesn't have the slightest drive to practice instead he was on their basement holding his favorite guitar that's been put in there by his mother.

He looked around their basement. All of the place was full of his brother's paint and a shelf of unused books.

He smiled sadly. Even his brother had to give up his dream to be an artist and follow what their mother wants.

How further can they go on with this. Do they have to do it until they lose their own self?

He just couldn't stand here and do nothing. It's better to die than to live a life that would slowly make his life mesirable.

He was looking at the bookshelf when he noticed, if he wasn't wrong a bookmark with a blue ribbon. He just wanted to ignore it and just continue on strumming a few cord of guitar he remembers, but the bookmark really got his attention. No one in their house really loves books except him and he never uses bookmarks or anything like it, and the ribbon is quite big for a bookmark.

He slowly stands from sitting on the single couch and walks towards the bookshelf. He took out the book and frowned to see, that it wasn't a book but a photo album.

Song Rin curiously opens the photo album and see a wedding photo of his mom and a guy he doesn't even recognize. He had known his brother's father from a photo too, but it was not the same face as the man in the picture. Did their mother marry someone first before his brother's father? And he knows too that his father died in an accident before he was born. So the man is impossible to be known by them. He flip the album one by one and was more shocked that it's not just two photos but a lot of it. There's even a photo of the guy in his university uniform but it was too old, and from the looks of it. It was all a stolen shot.

But there's a nagging feeling inside of him on why their mother hides it from them.

When he opens the next page where the bookmark was put, he even gets more confused that it wasn't a bookmark but a black envelope that has a ribbon on it.

He put down the album and curiously, he slowly opened the envelope and saw a picture of another person and was dumbfounded and shocked when he read the content of it and all the other things that were inside the envelope.

They say things change when you wanted it to change but what if it changes unexpectedly without you doing anything at all.

He just wishes he didn't get curious about everything.

"How could you do this to me Eomma? HOW COULD YOU!" Song Rin's voice echoes the whole house. As Seo hyung was in disbelief while his eyes darted at all the evidence in front of her. The evidence of what she had done many years ago.

But how? Didn't he hide all of it in that basement. It was all hidden in a box so how did he find it?

"Why? Why did you do this to me?" As he was now crying on his knees. He couldn't take the truth.

After he read the content of the black envelope. It takes time for him to absorb all the unimaginable things he find out, and find the courage to ask his mother the truth of what's inside the black envelope.

His mother. The one he thought who birthed him. The one he had been calling since he was a baby 'Eomma' was not his mother.

He was kidnapped by his so-called mother the day he was born. How can he take that kind of truth.

"Adeul. Listen to me." Seo Hyung tried to approach Song Rin.

"NO! Don't call me adeul, I'm not your son, and you're not my mother! You're a kidnapper and a criminal"  As he shouted at her making her step back.

"Where's my true family?" As he pointed out in the picture of a woman, and a man who was on the photo album. The man his so-called mother had married.

"I'm not gonna tell you, adeul. You're my son, and not these things could change that." She said harding her face as she insisted to him.

Rin stands on the ground as he looks at her in disbelief. Now he can see that throughout the things happened, even if he had known the truth she's still as hard as she is.

"Then I'll find them on my own." As he immediately strides out of her room and walks down the stairs.

"Song Rin. Adeul!" As his mother shouted at him and  followed after him.

Just when he was down on the last step his brother and his grandfather came in.

"What happened, dongseang?" James asked wondering why he was crying. He looked at both of them in confusion, as his mother was now holding his brother's arm.

"You can't go out of this house Song Rin." Her tears flowed on her eyes holding his son from not going anywhere.

"Let go of me." As he struggled to let go.

"No! I'm not going to let you go." She said shaking her head.

"What is happening here Seo hyung?" Their grandfather asked couldn't take what he was seeing.

"Let me go. I'm not staying here anymore. Let go of me!" Pulling his hands from Seo hyung's hard grip as she was shaking her head in disagreement.

"Seo hyung answered me! What is happening here?" He asked again.

"Eomma, dongseang what's wrong here." As James was confused if he should pull his mother away from his brother or what.

"Oh God! Just help me, hold him." As she shouted to both of them in frustration and panic.

"Why don't you just let your son go, Seo hyung." Her father said making her look at him in anger.

"Abeoji! What do you mean I let him go." She said unbelievably, this time back hugging his son.

"After everything I've done just so I could have him you want me to let go of him."  His father got confused for a moment as that is not what he meant.

"You know what I've gone through just so I could have him. You can't just make me let go of him that easily." As she look at him in despair as tears stream down on her face.

Song Rin who's heard everything looks at his grandfather in confusion. What his so-called mother just said means his grandfather knows he's not his mother's true son. He had known all along that he was kidnapped when he was a baby.

"Harabeoji?" He calls. Wanting to hear him deny that he doesn't know anything but the look on his grandfather's eyes wasn't a look of denial.

Not even his brother who looks as if his mother had said something that must not be said.

"Oh God! You all know?" He asks, more like confirming the truth.

"Let me go!" This time gaining all his strength to push Seo hyung away from him and he stepped backwards.

"How could you all do this to me!" As he looks at them in pain and in disbelief.

The people who he thought loved him had betrayed him in a way he couldn't even imagine. How could a loving family turn out to be a fake one they had made him believe and lived in.

"Song Rin. Sonja. Your mother had a reason why she did it." His grandfather tries to defend his mother.

"Reason? Is kidnapping me when I was a baby and making me believe that I was her own had a great reason that I could accept huh, harabeoji? And you even let her do it, harabeoji. Or should I call you Mr. Park Sung Jae ." As his tears fall on his eyes. They all stay silent with his outburst. He just couldn't take it anymore.

"You're all crazy." As he immediately walked out of the door leaving them behind.

"Abeoji, do something." He heard her said shouted in panicked.

Before he could walk away from the place his grandfather's voice echoed.

"Don't let him out of the gate." He said to all his five bodyguards who were just waiting outside immediately run to hold Song Rin.

"No! Let me go! Harabeoji!" He shouted trying to fight back to his five big builded guards.

"No! Please. Let go of me.." As he shouted while they dragged him back inside.  "Let me go..! Hyungnim help me! Harabeoji make them stop..No why are you doing this to me?" He shouted in despair as his brother who could only look away from the sight as he couldn't really help him at all. He doesn't have any power to stop his mother or his grandfather.

"Don't do this to me. I have the right to see my true family. Help me hyung." As he shouted again for help.

"Take him to his room now." Seo hyung instructed the men. As they carry him upstairs.

"I didn't do anything wrong here. Eomma, please. I want to see them. I want to know who they are. You can't do this to me. Aaahh" as he shouted and cried when the door of his room shut down and locked it from the outside.

"How could you be so careless Seo hyung. Tsk, tsk I have always been the one to clean up every mess you make. But this one is not just a mess this is a huge problem."  her father said.  They could hear from downstairs the helpless cries and begging of Song Rin.

"I didn't know that this could happen Abeoji. He just came to me and asked me about the wedding photo and the black envelope." She said as she sat on the couch holding her head as she knows now that she can't get away from what she did.

"Then what are you going to do about this?" He ask.

"I-i don't know what I should do abeoji. I can't let him meet them. I would be arrested and worst they would take him away from me." She said as she started panicking about the idea and the truth that it might really happen.

"You make the most mistake ever you should have taken the two back then and not just one." He said.

"You know I almost got caught when I tried to take the other one that's why I only got Song Rin back then, Abeoji." James who was hearing everything frown.

"If he was just the only one we wouldn't have had a lot of problems. But he got an identical twin Seo hyung. The evidence of your crime is unmistakable." He said. James was shocked to hear the truth from his grandfather. But he stayed silent and only listened.

"Do not let him out of your sight Seo hyung. Let's find a way about this.  Maybe there's a way we can make him stay." He said as he turned around to walk.

"The two of you stay here." As he told the two of his guards before he walk out of the house leaving them

As Song Rin continued to shout and cry banging at the door wanted to be out of that place that he knows now, that he doesn't belong to.

Present time, Thailand

He was sitting on the windowsill when someone knocked on the door before it opened.

"I heard you stay all night in the study room." He said instantly as he came inside.

"I've read all the investigators report that you have given to me, Phi" He said as he was looking outside the window.

"I analyze everything. If what we thought was right. I don't know what I would do about it." As tears started to fall on his eyes but he wipes it off instantly.

"I know. We just need more evidence to support our assumptions Nong." He replied. When he thinks about something he immediately looks at him

"If we need solid evidence to prove that what we thought was right. Then I'm ready to go back to Korea, Phi." He said as he immediately stood from sitting in the window.

"What? But nong. What if something could happen to you there?" He looked at him worriedly.

"You said if I'm ready. I'll tell you. Now I know I'm ready to go back, Phi." He said in a determined voice.

"But nong?"

"My decision is final. I'm going back to Korea, Phi Joss." He said as he takes out his duffle bag from the cabinet and takes the things he needed.

"Park Song Rin, listen to me." As Joss holds his shoulder and turns him around and looks at his face.

His sad beautiful face was mixed with hope that he knows the reason for. He had never changed. Only his hair right now had turned into black and he is now wearing his glasses making him look more vulnerable and fragile in his eyes.

And Joss knows he would always protect this fragile thing in front of him even if he would exchange that with his life.

"I'm worried about you Nong Song Rin." He started as he held his face carefully.   "If they found out that you're still alive they would find all the ways to get you back."

"But Phi you can't make me just sit down here and do nothing when I know that my twin brother Nunew is alive and living as me." He said in the hope that Joss would just agree he goes back.

"That was only an assumption Nong. We can't guarantee that that person living as a Song Rin in Korea right now is the real Nunew." Joss said.

"I know it's him Phi. I feel it in me that it was him." As he insisted.

"Then who was the one who died seven years ago,  Song Rin? How can we make sure that it was really him who was there in Korea? They had already identified back then, that the body was found dead in the accident years ago is really Nunew." Joss says as he was trying to make it make sense to the real Song Rin the other things that they must not forget to consider.

They can't just can't make an assumption and consider it the truth without proving it was the real one.

What if they are wrong?
