Narrator POV

"Give me my phone back." Rayna told Ray jumping up trying to get her phone, as he held it over her head.

Ray laughed watching her struggle. Her phone rung and Ray accepted Arianna's FaceTime. "Wasssup Arianna." He smiled watching Rayna jump.

"GIVE ME MY SHIT. I'm bouta get mad." She warned. Ray just laughed because he didn't care if she got mad.

"yk what.. ima show ya. DADDYYYYYY." Rayna whined causing her father who was downstairs to put down his food and go see what she wanted.

"What's wrong?"

"Ray hit me and took my phone." She cried.

"Man she lying, all I did was snatch her phone." Ray said which was the truth. All he did was snatch it and put it above her head.

"Don't be putting your hands on my daughter."

He scrunched up his face. "Man I didn't. When have you ever seen me lie?" Their dad thought about it and the answer was almost never. Ray always told the truth cause he simply didn't care enough to lie. The only time he lied is if he was protecting his siblings from getting in trouble, and half the time he didn't even lie for them. He would just plead the 5th or say he didn't know.

"He gotta point Rayna. I ain't seen this nigga lie in forever."

"So you gone believe him over me ? Yes I was lying, but you was posed to believe it. You so fake" She pouted.

There dad just laughed. "Ray give my baby girl her phone." He said and walked out the room. Ray sucked his teeth and gave her the phone. Arianna was on the phone laughing at the whole situation. She considered hanging up but she didn't because it was entertaining.

"HEYYY ARIII" Rayna yelled into the phone smiling. The past month her and Arianna have been talking nonstop. They were now comfortable around eachother and she considered them to be good friends.

"Heyy babess." Arianna responded smiling.

"Ari.. I wanna ask you about something."

"Ok. Shoot."

"What happened that day at the mall ? Do they always do that?" She had been wanting to ask the whole month, but she wanted to wait until Arianna was comfortable telling her about it.

"At school they be bullying me cause of my weight. It's not everybody but those 4 be constantly giving me hell. They be pushing me around, calling me out my name, all kinda stuff."

"Damn, thats fucked up. When we go to school just know I gotchuu. That bullying shit dead. Plus they just hating cause you beautiful and you a BAD BITCH!!"

"Thank you. You a bad bitch too"

"Tuhh that's true, but bad bitches hang with bad bitches. That's us pooh!!" Arianna laughed before muting the phone and flushing the pills down the toilet. Unknowingly Rayna had just stopped Arianna from taking up unhealthy measures to lose weight. For the first time Arianna had heard she was beautiful for someone other than her mother, it meant a lot to her.

They continued to talk before deciding they wanted to meet at the basketball court. Arianna lived around the corner from them, apparently a lot of people from school live in this neighborhood bc it connects to a bunch of other streets.

^ like a big subdivision with multiple streets in it.

"AYE YALL WANT COME TO THE COURT WITH ME AND ARIANNA??" Rayna yelled down the hallway that connects her and her brothers rooms.

Ramir popped his head out the door. "You already know I'm coming through."

"Yeah lemme get dressed." Ramon replied.

Ray didn't respond so she went in his room. "You slidin?"

"Ion know if I feel like it tbh."

"Man come on. Stop being all anti." Rayna told him walking in his room pulling him up. He sucked his teeth and threw on a shirt.

Everybody was finished and they was just waiting on Ramir. Rayna sucked her teeth and started talking shit. "This nigga always the last one ready, I can't stand pretty boys. Why the fuck it take 30 minutes to go to the court."

"Deadass, he take longer than you. Ain't we posed to be waiting on the girl ? This nigga Ramir different." Ray said getting back on his phone. "Shid I got 50% if we don't leave before I get to 40 Ian comin."

"Charge it right now dumbass."

"I feel like soon as I put it on the charger he gone come."

"Even better. Now do it." Sure enough a few minutes after ray put his charger in .. here come Ramir smiling and shit.

"Fuck you smiling for. Niggas then waited 45 minutes for you to get dressed. Then you come out looking regular." Ramon said eyeing Ramirs clothes. He had on low top 11's, gray shorts, & a red shirt, with his chain.

He basically looked like all of them, the only difference is he took forever to do it. Rayna had on shorts, high top 11's and a tie dye shirt. Ray had on black shorts, a random blue shirt, and his blue and white jordan 1's. Ramon had on 13's, gray shorts, and a green shirt.

Ramir sucked his teeth and waved him off. "Stop it, y'all know I always look good. And I wasn't getting dressed I was taking a nap."

"Nigga come on you then irritated me already and we ain't even left yet." Ray said hopping up making sure he grabbed his charger.

Rayna texted Arianna and told her they were leaving out now, so Arianna could leave out too.

They got to the court and a few seconds later Arianna came around the corner. "HEYY ARI." Rayna yelled unintentionally drawing attention to herself. Arianna waved and made her way over to the bench.

Rayna saw the boys they occasionally play basketball with and waved. "I see you still ugly." Ben said making her roll her eyes.

"I see your name still Ben and you still hating." She shot back causing Teezy to laugh.

"Damn Ben she be on yo ass bout yo name. I can't even blame her tho, your mama was wrong for that shit." Ben sucked his teeth and got on his phone. He lowkey felt played but he ain't want them to know that.

"Mane my real name aint even Ben, it's Benjamin."

Rayna bussed our laughing. "That's worse you should've just sat there and at your food." He sucked his teeth slightly embarrassed as everybody laughed at him.

Rayna, Teezy, & Arianna broke off into there own conversation away from everyone else. Kade walked over and asked if they wanted to play basketball. Rayna and Teezy said yes, and Arianna declined.

"Want me to come witchaa, ion mind sitting a game out?" Rayna asked because she didn't want to leave her friend hanging.

"Nahh, ima go sit down on my phone." Rayna nodded and Arianna went sit by Ray.

"Why you ain't playing?" Arianna asked Ray causing him to take out one of his airpods.

"I'm not too big on new people."

"You know how to play tho?"

"Yessir, I do my thing or whatever."

They sat there talking the entire time while the rest of them played basket ball. Rayna looked over a few times and smiled , I ship them she thought to herself. She knew Ray was actually interested in the conversation because he took out both of his airpods. It was something all their siblings had learned about Ray. Both headphones in = he doesn't want to talk, he's pretending not to hear, or he's coolin. One headphone = im listening but you don't have all my attention or I'm listening but I'm not turning my music off. No headphones = 100% attention.

"Aye lemme getcho number." Kade called out to Rayna interrupting her and Ramons convo.

"Nahh you good g." Rayna replied and kept walking with Ramon. She didn't like when dudes did that, if you wanted her number you had to walk up to her. Not yell at her from a distance.

The 4 siblings decided to walk Ari home since it was dark and the 4 of them are going to the same place. Ray put in one of his airpods and they made small talk as they walked.

"Yo I wanna try getting high." Rayna blurted out. Ray stopped walking and looked at her.

"No." He said then kept walking.

"Him saying no made me wanna do it more." She turned to Ramir knowing he would be the easiest to convince.

"Shid I'm down, where we posed to get weed from?"

"Yk how many dealers it got on Snapchat ? Dudes always posting weed with they crusty finger nails."

Arianna laughed because it's true. She often saw dealers with dirty fingernails while skipping through Snapchat stories.

"Bet that's the move for tomorrow." Ramon added. He was gonna do it too, bc why not.

"Ian fw it." Ray disagreed.

"How bout you Ari?"

"I'm not with it either."

"Come on you and Ray gotta do it too, so we could get the whole experience." Rayna pouted looking between the two.

"Come on you only live once." Ramir added. He was a firm believer in having fun. In his opinion you could die tomorrow, so do whatever the hell you want today.

"I'll come with y'all and silently judge y'all the whole time, but Ian doing it." Ray said.

"What about you Ari?"

"I'm with Ray on this. I'll come but I'm not doing it." She said causing Rayna to nodd. All she needed was them to agree to come because she gone pass them the blunt anyways.
