Chapter 99
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Helen was sitting quietly on her bed, her phone put aside in silent mode.
The screen suddenly lit up, and she promptly recognized the callerâs number as Frankâs since she had memorized it.
She hung up without hesitation, thinking herself now a cripple and afraid to suffer Frankâs ridicule.
Frank called twice more after that, but she kept hanging up on him before blocking him.
Just then, Gina entered with Greg, and she promptly asked, âLook whoâs here, Helen!â
Helen, who was still depressed, promptly scowled. âGet out.â
âItâs alright Helen. Heâs here to helpâ¦â
Greg had already walked up to Helen before Gina finished, and he was certainly impressed inwardly with Helenâs pretty face. To think that Ginaâs daughter boasted such natural beautyâ¦
What a shame that the facial scar ruined it, leaving her looking gruesome instead.
âWho are you? Get out!â Helen snapped angrily and picked up a pillow to throw at Greg.
âYou probably wonât remember me, but I used to carry you around when you were a baby,â Greg replied nonchalantly. âAlso, I came with good newsâMr. Zimmer has agreed to treat you. You wonât have that scar soon enough.â
Dan did tell Greg that someone was going to help Helen, and he just had to play it off as his own contribution.
Helen did a double take right then, since the hospital chief himself said that he could not help with that.
âMr. Zimmer is going to help?â
Greg smiled. âWho in Riverton can do it, if not Dan Zimmer?â
Helen was stunned. âBut why would Mr. Zimmer help?â
âItâs all thanks to Greg here,â Gina said. âHeâs now a partner of Timmy Yates, and Mr. Zimmer has agreed to his request with just a call.â
Helen turned hesitantly toward Greg, surprised that her motherâs former classmate was such a successful man.
Gina said proudly just then, âHelen, shouldnât you thank Mr. Marsh?â
âTâThank you, Mr. Marshâ¦â Helen stammered.
Right now, what she wanted most was for her face to recover. She would certainly be grateful if Greg could do that much.
âDonât worry,â Greg assured her confidently. âJust rest and get better. Your face will soon be cured, and youâll still be Rivertonâs most beautiful woman.â
Gina wrapped her hands around Gregâs arm without knowing it. âPeter will take care of you tonight. Iâll be busyâ¦â
Helen certainly noticed the strangeness and frowned. âWhy donât you stay here with me tonight, Mom?â
Gina shot her a glare. âYouâre an adult. Do you still need me around?â
Helen was speechless, but she already could guess what Gina was up to tonight.
She would never stop her mother from pursuing her own happiness, but was this not a little too fast?
Meanwhile, Frank gave up after calling Helen a few timesâit was clear that she was not going to
