Chapter 56
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Sean called Helen just then. âAre you alright, Helen? Donât worryâIâve sent my people to deal with the issue. Iâll destroy Rocco McCoy if he so much as lays a finger on you.â
In reality, he sent nobody. After all, he had no idea how to clean up the messâthere was just no way for him to keep deceiving Helen that the Ichor Pills were fake while having Rocco release her as well.
âDonât worry, Mr. Wesleyâmy mom and I were released,â Helen said quietly, her eyes then narrowing as she asked, âBy the way, who did you send?â
Sean was caught dumbfounded, stammering endlessly but unable to say even a name.
That made Helen more confident that Frank had sent Danâwhy else would Sean hesitate?
However, Gina shouted just then, âMr. Wesley, was it Dan Zimmer?â
Sean heard her and promptly said, âYes, yes, of course. I sent Mr. Zimmer.
âMom, what are you doing?!â Helen was furious.
âWhat are you doing?â Gina shot back. âI told youâMr. Wesley definitely sent Mr. Zimmer.â
âOh, itâs no big deal and not worth mentioning,â Sean continued gloating over the phone at the same time, though he was relieved since Helen was fine anyway. âWhere are you now? Iâll come get you.â
Helen scowled. âSave it. Iâm driving home myself. â
She hung up right then, and Gina snapped at her grumpily, âWhatâs with the attitude?!â
Helen rolled her eyes and got into her car. âYou donât get it at all.â
âOh, you horrid childâ¦â Gina continued to grumble from the back.
Early next morning, Frank had just finished his daily routine when Vicky called. âHave you considered my offer, Mr. Lawrence?â
Frank did consider her suggestion to become a shareholder of her pharmaceutical company and decided it was worth a shot. âYes, but you know me Iâm penniless.â
Vicky, however, was already grinning from ear to ear since he said yes. âOh, you. Iâm asking you to be a shareholder, and that means Iâm having you ride along as we make money. Why would I ask for your money? Iâve also prepared a position for you as well.â
âWhat is it?â Frank asked, just a little bemused.
âYouâll be my companyâs head of security and chief healer, as well as my senior assistant.â
Frank rolled his eyes. âThatâs a lot of positions. How much do I get paid for that?â
âOh, whatâs mine is yours. Me too, if youâd just ask,â Vicky purred.
That was too much Frank, so he cut her short right then. âAlright. Anything else?â
âOf course,â Vicky quickly said. âSo thereâs this company in West City that has taken out a loan but Isnât paying up. I was going to bring you along to collect the debt, but donât worry, youâll get ten percent.â
Frank scratched his head and dissed, âAnd that requires me, your head of security?â
Vicky giggled. âOf course. Theyâre no pushoversâIâm bringing some martial elites with me.â
âFine. Where are you? Iâll go to you.â
âDownstairs. Youâll see my car when you come down.â
Hanging up, Frank got changed and hurried downstairs to find Vicky poking her head out of her car, clearly having been waiting for a while.
When he reached it, he then noticed that Yara was riding shotgun, while Cliff was in the backseat.
Vicky was grinning in turn. âCome, Mr. Lawrenceâletâs all get acquainted. This is Yara Quill, my personal bodyguard, and thatâs Cliff Dixon, a temp bodyguard.â
