Chapter 374
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
âLetâs see!â
Everyone else was curious since Henry really liked Frankâs gift, only to be disappointed when they saw that it was just a painting.
Gina rolled her eyes. âWhatâs so impressive about that?â
âExactly.â Peter pursed his lips. âSome dull paintings are worth a lot less than the porcelain vase.â
Henry frowned. âDull painting? Itâs an Alfie Bronx pieceâdid you ever finish school, not knowing who he is?â
Cindy pointed at Frank. âWhat, just because he said so? He could say itâs by King Arthur for all I care!â
âHaha!â Zeb laughed. âSir, I donât mind telling you but paintings are easiest to fake, especially if theyâre old. No canvas would be preserved this wellâthe way I see it, itâs fake.â
Gina and the others nodded repeatedly. âExactly. Mr. Larkin is right.â
They had not the faintest idea about antique or art, but if Zeb said so, then it must be.
âJust throw it away already, Grandpa,â Peter then told Henry. âWhy would you keep a bootleg?
Henry quickly put it away and snapped. âShut it. I think this is the real deal, and I like it.â
He could not care less if the painting was genuineâFrank gave it to him, and he would love it, real or otherwise.
Frank chuckled in turn, really doubting that Gerald Simmons would hang a fake painting in his own study. âWhat makes you say itâs fake? Just because you say so? Do you have evidence to prove that?â
Zeb scoffed, âYou were tricked, werenât you? Why donât you tell us how much you paid for it instead?â
On the other hand, Gina noticed someone else nearby and immediately had an idea.
âYou really donât know when to give up, do you?â She snorted at Frank before hurrying to an elderly man nearby. âMr. Young!â
Frank was perplexed by what Gina was up to and watched as she pulled the man to their table, saying, âEveryone, this is Randall Young, the most famous antique appraisal in Riverton.â
Henry already knew what Gina was doing since he had already met Randall thanks to his antique hobby and snapped, âThatâs out of line, Gina.â
âWhat? Frank was the one who said itâs real.â Gina shrugged innocently. âIn that nothing to worry about by letting Mr. Young take a look.â
case, he has Peter was already laughing in his head. âGreetings, Mr. Young.â
Cindy and Zeb quickly greeted Randall as well, while Gina said, âMr. Young, we have an art piece by Alfie Bronx. Could you take a look?â
Randall simply laughed, âNo, I donât even have to look to tell that itâs fake.â
Everyone was confused. âWhat? Why?â
âBecause the only privately owned Bronx piece is hanging on the wall of Gerald Simmonsâ
office,â Randall explained. âThe one and only.â
Zeb laughed snugly right then. âHahaha! Did you hear that, Frank?â
