Chapter 358
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
While Hans was being vaguely subtle, Robert knew enough to understand that Frank was the anonymous tip.
Still, he quickly nodded without asking further questions. âGood work, colonel. Is there anything I can help with?â
Hans barked, âArrest every member of Flying Sword Sect. Iâll be in charge of the interrogation.
âOf course.â Robert nodded and turned to bark at his men to help Hansâ soldiers load the members of the Flying Sword Sect into the truck.
As Kuno was shoved to the ground by two soldiers while they cuffed him, he was snapping, â Hold it! I am the chief of Flying Sword Sect! Who are you people? You canât arrest me! You have no right!â
Never had he suffered such ignominy!
However, his outburst merely left Hans frowning, and he suddenly punched him in the solar plexus.
Kunoâs face turned beet red as his eyes rolled up in its sockets, and he could feel gastric juice churning upward in his gut.
Hans did not remove his hand, howeverâhe spread his palm, his fingers digging into Kunoâs abdomen like claws.
As Kuno screamed on top of his lungs, Hans leveled an icy look at him and demanded, âDo I have the right now?â
Kuno was trembling in fear even as he sweated buckets. âBrother, we can talk about this. Flying Sword Sect is plenty wealthy⦠You just have to say the word, anything you needâ¦â
Hans chuckled coolly. âNice. Bribery? Thatâs another criminal charge on your head. Show him some proper hospitality, boys!â
âWhatâ¦â
Kuno pursed his lips and snapped furiously, âDonât push me! My family has considerable influence in Riverton!â
That simply piqued Hansâ interest. âOh, so youâre now a crime family? Search every nook and cranny, boysâdonât let slip any piece of evidence!â
âYes, sir!â the soldiers all replied at once and shoved Kuno into a truck.
âDad, whatâs happening here?â Jan was shoved inside the same truck even before he knew what was happening.
âJust shut up already⦠Weâre all screwed now,â Kuno closed his eyes and sighed.
As every member of Flying Sword Sect was carted away, Hans returned to Frank and said, â What should we do with their chief, Mr. Lawrence?â
âYou had to ask?â Frank replied flatly. âHe wanted to kill me.â
âUnderstood, sir.â
Hans nodded repeatedlyâit was clear that Flying Sword Sect would be erased now.
âYeah. Thereâs nothing else for you to do here, so you can go now,â Frank added.
âOf course, sir. Oh, and when would you have time to hang out at our place?â Hans asked with a fawning sinile.
âYeah, whateverâ¦â Frank waved him off impatiently.
And with that, Hans turned toward Vicky and the others. âWhat happened here today is top secret.
Donât breathe a word, or you will be deemed a threat to East Coast securityâwhen that happens, youâll find me a lot less friendly.â
âYes, yesâ¦â Vicky and the others all nodded repeatedly, perfectly aware that Hans had come expressly to assist Frank.
In fact, Hans did not have to tell themânone of them would have breathed a word anyway.
Hans started to turn and leave, but Robert hurried to him. âMr. Schnee, itâs rare for travel all this way to Rivertonâwhy donât you stop by my humble abode?â
âNo, thanks. Iâm still busy,â Hans replied summarily.
you to âIn that case, I would like to ask a little favor,â Robert pressed. âSee, I have a questionâ¦â
âWhat is it?â
âWho is Mr. Lawrence, really?â Robert asked very softly.
Hans frowned. âShould you really be asking that?â
His stern tone startled Robert, who awkwardly explained, âNo, you misunderstand, colonel. My daughter has been a longtime admirer of Mr. Lawrence, and they are even intimate⦠but Mr. Lawrence has never told me about his roots.â
