Chapter 351
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
âWhat is going on here?â
Vicky and Yara had just returned indoors as well, and they hurried upstairs upon seeing the chaos up there.
Jan turned to Vicky right then and said, âMs. Turnbull, your friend was insulting Flying Sword Sect and vandalized my familyâs antiques. I tried to stop him, and he attacked me in return- Iâm afraid youâre going to have to do something about this.â
âWhat?!â Vicky exclaimed in surprise and quickly turned toward Frank.
Having been around him for so long, she knew Frank well enough to not take Janâs words at face value.
âWhat happened here, Frank?â Vicky asked.
Frank was folding his arms before his chest as he said evenly, âHe demanded for the Earthen Dragonheart. I refused, so he tried to attack me. Why wouldnât I hit him?â
Everyone was left trading glances at that, unsure who to believe with the contradicting testimonies.
Vicky naturally believed Frank and frowned at Jan. âWas that what happened, Mr. Yaffe?â
Jan snorted. âOf course heâs lying. My family business is virtually an empireâwhy would we want some measly herb? And why isnât he answering the question of why he destroyed my familyâs antiques?â
Liv nodded repeatedly beside him. âExactly! Mr. Yaffeâs father is the chief of Flying Sword Sect. They could have easily taken it from Frank if they wanted to. Frank is definitely the one who tried to attack Mr. Yaffe!â
Kim snapped at her, âStop it, Liv. Donât jump to conclusions before we have evidence.â
âEvidence?â Liv sighed in disappointment. âYou should stop defending Frank already, Ms. White!â
Jan turned to Vicky right then. âSo, what are you going to do about this, Ms. Turnbull?â
Vicky snorted. âIâll pay for the damages.â
Jan grinned. âThose are medieval antiques weâre talking aboutâitâs worth at least a billion.â
âA billion? Are you kidding me? Those trinkets are worth a billion?!â Vicky pursed her lips.
She knew that Jan would definitely inflate the damage, but this was too much even for him!
Jan simply shrugged. âThatâs how much my father spent on those antiques. Pay up, or stay out of thisâ
Frank will pay for what he did!â
âYou littleâ¦â Vicky was seething.
A billion dollars was a lot, and she was especially short on cash since she had just founded a new company.
However, the Yaffes would not let this slide if she did not pay up!
Glaring at Jan viciously, Vicky snapped, âFine! One billion, was it? Iâll get the money!â
Jan frownedâhe had never expected Vicky to take the fall.
âHold it,â Frank suddenly said icily. âHas there been any evidence against me? All that crap was already destroyed before I went inside that room.
âTut, tut.â Jan clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes. âStop trying to weasel your way out of this.
Everyone here can see for themselves.â
âThey sure can, but there are times when they werenât shown the truth.â
Frank whipped out his phone and played the recording of his conversation with Jan earlier out loud.
From the very start, Frank was never heard breaking anything, and Jan was the one who attacked him first.
The crowd were certainly shockedâwhat a plot twist!
Jan was left pursuing his lips, never expecting Frank to have an ace up his sleeve.
His face turned especially pale when the recording reached the part where he thoroughly insulted Kim, and he looked up to find her balling her fists!
