Chapter 176
The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage
Gina was utterly enviousâChrisâ mansion overlooked a portion of the entire mansion district too!
She promptly whipped out her phone and posted it on social media, with Peter following suit, although he took photos of other mansions as well.
Chris watched as they did so, his vanity highly satisfied.
He even brought a pot of tea. âHave a drink, Mrs. Lane. You can take the photos whenever you wantâ
youâre always welcome here.â
âReally?!â Gina and Peter were overjoyed, almost unable to believe it!
Chris nodded. âOf course. You can come over whenever Iâm home.â
âOh, thatâs wonderful!â Gina exclaimed, not forgetting to extend an invite in return. âYou can come visit our manor whenever as well, and teach Helen how to make more money.â
Helen folded her arms before her chest. âTeach? Weâre working in different businesses.â
Gina frowned right then. âWhat do you mean, different?! Chris started out with nothing too, and he owns a billion dollar company now!â
Helen turned in surprise toward Chrisâhe was that successful in just three years?
âWhatâs your business? It sounds lucrative,â she said.
âOh, just a little apothecary stuff. Interested?â he asked, staring fixedly at her.
âNopeâ¦â Helen shook her head. âBut you werenât studying medicine. Why would you suddenly work in that field?â
Caught by surprise, Chris scratched his head and stammered, âOh, uh⦠My partner is in the business, soâ¦â
Helen was going to press him further but Gina cut her short, pointing at the hilltop mansion as she asked, âWho owns that mansion on top of the hill, Chris? Could it be Governor Quill?â
Chris promptly walked over to the window. âActually, no, even though his family developed the entire mansion district. You see, they offer these mansions as gifts, and Iâm sure you can also tell by now that the higher the mansion is built, the more important the owner would be. Thatâs why the hilltop mansion hasnât been given off. Whoever gets it must be hugely important to the Quills⦠and since they are very important people themselves, they wouldnât be interested in some paltry gains.â
Gina nodded repeatedlyâit was obvious even from the size of the hilltop mansion, which was at least twice the size of Chrisâ mansion.
Still, after a moment, she murmured in confusion, âHold on⦠I just saw a light from over there.â
âA light? No way,â Chris snorted skeptically.
âNo, I saw it too!â Peter quickly said.
Chris was left perplexed. âHuh⦠Maybe Governor Quill gave it away recently? I wonder who itâd be, thoughâ¦â
Both Gina and Peter quickly nodded, with Gina adding, âYeah, well, youâd eventually make their acquaintance since youâre neighbors.â
âThatâs for sure.â Chris nodded, not forgetting to flex for Ginaâs benefit. âThere are a lot of free recreational facilities around here. We can check them out if you like.â
âReally? i have to see!â Gina exclaimed, her eyes lighting up as she turned to Helen. âCome on. Letâs go together.â
âIâll passâIâm tired,â Helen said wearily.
Seeing that, Gina quickly turned back to Chris. âLead the way, Chris.â
âOf course.â Chris nodded without hesitationâhe was not about to miss a chance to show off!
Meanwhile, in the hilltop mansion, Frank had just changed his clothes.
He called Jimmy and asked which hospital Helen had been taken to before heading out, planning to check on her.
