Chapter 612: 615: I Want to Live Off a Woman
Defrosting The Cold Young Master
âSure,â Ye Xingbei agreed enthusiastically, delighted by the chance to get out of the house where he had been pent up during his convalescence, âBut we need to invite Xiao Shu and Xiao Yue too. If Xiao Shu found out we went out to eat without him, heâd be sure to hold a grudge and pout at you.â
âWe wonât invite them today, itâs rare for us to get some alone time. Letâs seize this chance for a little romance, just the two of us,â said Gu Junzhu, âWeâll make it up to them tomorrow and go out again.â
âWhat if we take Xiao Yue and Xiao Shu around town tomorrow?â Ye Xingbei suggested, âI think I am well enough for that now. Xiao Yue is visiting Y country for the first time and I know lots of beautiful places. We could show him around.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Gu Junzhu nodded: âSounds like a plan.â
Ye Xingbei asked, âWhere should we go today?â
âItâs up to you,â Gu Junzhu said, âYouâre the host, you get to decide.â
Ye Xingbei chuckled and pondered for a moment, âThereâs a manor on the outskirts thatâs modeled after an ancient palace. The scenery is remarkably beautiful, and the food is fantastic too. Sitting in the rooms, you can see a small bridge over a stream in the courtyard. Itâs a wonderful blend of delicious food and gorgeous views. I am just not sure we can still book a room.â
He took out his phone: âIâll give it a shot.â
To their luck, they managed to book a VIP room at the manor.
Hanging up, Ye Xingbei said with a smile to Gu Junzhu, âThey had a VIP room available. These are the only rooms with a view of the courtyard. Theyâre pretty expensive too, but Iâm confident you wonât mind that, Fifth Lord of Gu, right?â
âHuh?â Gu Junzhu looked at her, surprised, âI traveled all the way here and you as the host, arenât you supposed to treat me? I was all set for a free lunch today.â
âGo away!â Ye Xingbei playfully punched him on the shoulder, âWhen will you ever have a serious conversation with me?â
Gu Junzhu wraps his arms around her, ruffling her hair like she was a little puppy or kitten, âYe Xiaobei, a wise man once said to his wife: Your letters are too official, you never say you miss me. Being as knowledgeable as I am, I must learn from his experience that one should avoid being too formal when talking to their loved one, otherwise, my loved one will feel neglected.â
Ye Xingbei: ââ¦â
Less formality is fine, but donât you think Fifth Lord of Gu, you went too far in letting yourself go?
An hour later, amid their chatter and laughter, their car entered the beautiful manor that Ye Xingbei had described.
They took a stroll around the manor first, admiring the pavilions, rockeries, arched bridges over flowing streams. It was indeed beautiful.
A particular highlight was the abundance of flowers in the manor. It was the blossoming season, with flowers of various kinds blooming brightly. The captivating scent of flowers permeated the air, refreshing the body and mind, encouraging visitors to linger on.
As Gu Junzhu walked among the flowers with Ye Xingbei, he exclaimed, âIt is truly exquisite.â
âRight?â Ye Xingbei was quite pleased that he appreciated the place she had recommended.
Gu Junzhu found her endearing in such a state of pride and, unable to resist, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her, pressing her against a tree trunk.
Only after Ye Xingbeiâs lips had swollen from the passionate kiss, and she was left breathless, did he finally, reluctantly, let her go. His fingertip brushed gently across her plump, rosy lips, sighing, âSo sweet!â
Blushing furiously, Ye Xingbei pinched and twisted him, âThere are so many people around! Canât you be a bit more discreet?â
âWhatâs there to be afraid of?â Gu Junzhu plucked a flower and tucked it into her hair, âWe are a legally married couple, with a certificate to prove it, who can forbid us from showing affection?â
