No Chance Of Remarriage: Get Lost Chapter 331
Honey We Are Not Getting Remarried: Get Away From Me!
Chapter 331 Eh? Why Are You Here, Ms. Benett?
Garethâs face darkened. Elisa somehow couldnât break free from his grasp. With a slightly nasty expression, she said, âLet me go!â
âAre you hard of hearing, Elisa? Didnât you hear what I said to you before?â Garethâs face was unbelievably black.
But Elisa smiled. âThen listen to this recording.â
She played the recording of Linda instructing her not to go.
Gareth furrowed his brows at once. He didnât want to talk about Linda.
Elisa smiled. âLook, after we divorced, you have no relationship with me anymore. Linda is my cousin. Since she keeps saying that she is doing things for my own good, I have to help her accomplish that, donât you think so?â
Gareth looked at her with a cloudy expression. âHas your conscience been eaten by dogs? What Grandma needs most is for you to go and see her, but what are you doing?â
Elisa looked at him coldly. âWho was the one who was eaten by dogs?â
Seeing Garethâs face darken, Elisa continued on sarcastically, âItâs you! Grandma is like this all thanks to you!â
Feeling Garethâs gaze that was as sharp as a blade, she continued, unconcerned. âFor the past few years, Grandma has always felt bad. What she hopes for the most is for you to love me, but you couldnât do it. You wanted a divorce from me, and you wanted to marry Linda. Grandmaâs health has been deteriorating all thanks to you. Itâs fine if you donât love me, Gareth, but as a man, you have to own up to your mistakes and accept the consequences. Donât push all the responsibility onto me as a woman.â
Seeing that Garethâs face was getting cloudier, Elisa continued in a cold voice, âEven if I didnât ask for a divorce in front of everybody, do you think Grandma wouldnât feel unwell? She would have been unwell all her life for as long as you didnât love me.
Itâs better to get the pain over with rather than prolong the agony. I did this so that Grandma would accept it earlier. Otherwise, she would have to rack her brains every night for you.â
Once she said all that, she felt the air around her became colder.
Gareth wasnât angry. In fact, he smiled and said, âIf it werenât for your schemes back then, do you think I would have married you? Do you think Grandma would have liked you?â
He pushed Elisa away after he said it.
Elisa staggered a little and couldnât refute him.
Should I retort that I didnât plot against him? He wonât believe a single word, and I donât have proof.
Then again, am I really the root of the problem?
I liked him from the beginning. If I didnât like him at all, would it have played out differently?
Elisa took a breath in and controlled her emotions. With an indifferent expression, she said, âI wonât go back with you tonight. I just called Grandma. She said that she wanted to rest and that she doesnât want me to go there.â
âYou wonât go just because she doesnât want you to? Why am I just finding out that youâre so obedient, Elisa?â
Elisa suddenly laughed scornfully. âIn the three years that I was married to you, when did I ever disobey you?â
Gareth was immediately at a loss for words. He couldnât refute what she said.
It seemed to be the case. She was like a puppet that was being controlled. She would do what he told her to, and she would never know how to fight back.
It was because of this that he would feel particularly impatient whenever he saw her.
He had felt like she was a ball of wool. She couldnât be flattened, worn-out, or destroyed.
Linda had just walked over and heard what Elisa said. Her brows furrowed immediately.
But she was just around the corner. They couldnât see her.
Just as Gareth was about to say something, there came Vincentâs voice. âEh? Why are you here, Ms. Benett?â
