No Chance Of Remarriage: Get Lost Chapter 28
Honey We Are Not Getting Remarried: Get Away From Me!
Chapter 28 An Uproar on the Internet Gareth was dumbfounded.
Elisa stared at him with a displeased look. âIâve been waiting for you to come and look for me. Do you not even have time to go to the Department of Civil Affairs, President Wickam?! You could have just sacrificed the time of a meal with her and gotten our divorce procedures done so that you donât have to worry about the reputation of your company every day!â
âYou...â
Gareth gritted his teeth and snarled, âElisa Benett! Do you think I donât want to divorce you?! Grandma has been crying and begging me to not divorce you!â
Elisa was confused.
Before this, Julia had called her and claimed that she would find a better man for her. Did she do this on purpose?
âThereâs still a major project ongoing in the company, and weâre competing against Darcey Group. Iâll divorce you after this project ends, but you better behave yourself in the next month.â
Any negative news would pose a threat to Gareth, so he wouldnât want the reputation of him and Elisa as the model couple to be ruined.
Elisa snorted coldly. âThatâs none of my business. It doesnât bother me whether the company succeeds in this project or not because I wonât get a penny even if you earned a billion from this project.â
The derision in Garethâs eyes intensified. âYouâre indeed a greedy, materialistic woman!â
Gareth frowned while staring at Elisaâs stone face.
Elisa smirked. âI just hope I donât have to see you ever again. Iâm still disgusted by your impatient look when I begged you to meet me back then.â
Her remark made Gareth flare up immediately.
âHence, Mr. Wickam, do not impose on others what you do not desire. I hope you can stop pestering me like a pest!â
âPester you like a pest?! Very well, Elisa, youâre getting arrogant now!â Gareth laughed out of anger, but his spooky eyes were as cold as icebergs.
Elisa couldnât bother to talk to him, so she turned and walked toward the private room.
âYou better behave yourself if you donât want to put Semoa Group to troubleâ
Elisa halted her step for a moment, but she soon regained her senses and walked back to the room, leaving Gareth alone in the empty corridor.
Clenching his fists, Gareth pressed his lips indignantly. The ferocity in his eyes was so threatening as if it could set the room, where Elisa was in, on fire.
Meanwhile, Elisa sat down on the couch.
Carle looked at Elisa worriedly and asked, âDid he do anything to harm you, Elisa?â
If it wasnât because of her strong stance just now, Carle would have gone after her.
Elisa shook her head with a smile. âNot at all. Weâre living in a society governed by the law after all.â
Rachel gnashed her teeth. âIâve hated his arrogant look all this while! Heâs a total jerk! Screw him!â
Sheena held Elisaâs hand and agreed. âYou made the right decision to divorce him, honey. You should get a husband like Carle next time!â
Sheena became a little shy as she uttered the second sentence.
There was a glow in Carleâs deep-set eyes. He sighed and said, âElisa, I shouldnât have bought you roses. You might not have recovered from the last relationship since youâve just gotten a divorce. But Iâll wait for you. Iâll always be at your side whenever you need me, Elisa.â
And be your pillar of strength...
Carle kept the last phrase to himself.
Elisaâs eyelashes fluttered. She was touched by his kindness toward her. Ever since she married Gareth, she had sensibly kept a distance away from other men. She felt sorry for Carle, yet the latter was willing to wait for her even at this point.
Elisa parted her lips and was pondering about what to say, but Carle went on.
âYou donât have to worry about my feelings, Elisa. Iâm already grateful enough that I stand a chance now.â
âOh come on! Do you think there are only the two of you in this room? Are we invisible to you?â Rachel teased the two while Sheena chimed in as she concealed the dismay in her eyes.
Elisa shook her head. âIâve decided not to think about love relationships anymore. Stop urging me if you deem me a true friend.
Otherwise, I might unfriend you, girls.â
An indescribable look flashed through Sheenaâs eyes. A few seconds later, she nodded and said, âOkay! Weâll stop bringing it up.
Letâs drink!â
The thoughtful Rachel played some upbeat music as if they were indeed celebrating a joyful occasion.
The gathering carried on for another two hours.
Initially, Carle wanted to send Elisa home but was rejected.
Nevertheless, none of them knew the Internet was currently in an uproar!
