No Chance Of Remarriage: Get Lost Chapter 21
Honey We Are Not Getting Remarried: Get Away From Me!
Chapter 21 Itâs Just an Unfortunate Situation Elisa sighed. âGrandma, you know that he doesnât love me. Heâll just hate me more if we keep this farce up. Right now, the best thing for the both of us is a divorce. Grandma, let us do this. Itâs a chance for the both of us to be happy.â
Elisaâs voice was clearly more strained at the end of her plea.
Juliaâs face turned pale.
Elisa was such a good granddaughter-in-law!
How could that stupid grandson of mine let her go so easily?!
It looked like they had already decided to divorce. Nothing Julia could say now would change their mind. She couldnât be that selfish no matter how much she adored Elisa and wanted her to stay married to Gareth...
Gareth never cared for Elisa. He never even brought his wife home during the three years they were married! This was not what a decent man would do! He did not fulfil his husbandly duties. Forcing them to stay together would only hurt Elisa.
But...
Julia really hated the thought of them separating... She felt so conflicted!
Right now, all she wanted to do was call Gareth and yell at him! She was furious!
Julia took a deep breath, âElisa. Wait a minute, Iâm going to call that idiot grandson of mine!!â
âGrandma.â
Before Julia had a chance to hang up, Elisa called out.
âI know you like me. Iâm so thankful that you looked after me all these years. But... Somethings just arenât meant to be. Garethâs and my relationship have come to an end, however that shouldnât affect ours. Iâve always thought of you as my own grandmother. Iâll still visit you often, okay?â
Juliaâs heart softened toward her. Her hand that was holding onto her phone started to shake.
She no longer knew what to say. After a long pause, she finally said, â... Fine.â
Elisa finally felt a weight lift off her shoulders. She finally had Grandmaâs approval. She would no longer put pressure on Gareth.
She chuckled, âSo... Could you not call him to ask about this? The both of us... Have called it quits.â
It was just an unfortunate situation for all parties.
Elisa knew Grandma well enough to know that she hated how the Wickams were more focused on power and riches. They had lost the warmth they once had.
Which was why she would not care if the company went bankrupt.
This was one of the reasons why she decided to work with Will.
âHai...â
Julia sighed audibly. âForget about it. You children have your own lives to live. I canât make your decisions for you. My dear girl, youâre one of the good ones. Gareth is making the biggest mistake of his life by letting you go. I know that youâll meet someone who will treat you much better than he did. You deserve to be loved and cherished. Listen to me, hold your head up high and do not let anyone mistreat you, understood?â
Warmth filled Elisaâs chest. Grandma was the only person to show her kindness ever since she married into the Wickam family.
While the others...
âOkay Grandma. I got it. Thank you for supporting me.â
Julia shook her head exasperatedly. She sighed, âDonât thank me. I should be thanking you. Youâve suffered so much here and yet youâve never complained nor griped. I should be apologizing to you.â
âDonât say that, grandma.â Elisa gripped her phone tightly. âIâll go see you when I have the chance, okay?â She promised.
âMy dear girl, set higher standards for your next man. If you have trouble deciding, let me know. Iâll help you decide. No one will take advantage of you under my watch!â
Elisa felt the back of her eyes start to tingle. She chuckled, âSure.â
âYou carry on now. I know how busy you are. Iâm going to use the restroom now.â
âOkay, Grandma.â
They hung up. Julia was sad. It was plain for everyone to see.
Her granddaughter-in-law... Was soon going to be someone elseâs granddaughter-in-law.
So be it then!
She is not my granddaughter-in-law, but my own granddaughter!
They are family! Gareth Wickam! That idiot grandson of mine! He will regret this in the future!!
The thought filled her with anger. She couldnât help herself from calling him and scolding him!
