Chapter 2067 Trust
Honey We Are Not Getting Remarried: Get Away From Me!
Vincentâs ability to utter those words stemmed not only from his belief in Elisaâs medical skills but also from his faith in Rachel.
Despite being in a vegetative state, Rachel could still perceive the sounds of the outside world.
Vincent firmly believed that Rachel could hear Elisaâs call, and this belief was crucial in awakening her. Elisa felt deeply grateful for the trust placed in her and silently vowed not to betray it.
Since the family members had unanimously agreed, there was no reason for the doctor to object.
Helplessly, the doctor watched as Rachel was loaded into the ambulance bound for Elisaâs house, shaking his head and sighing.
He believed that Rachelâs familyâs blind obedience and ignorance might lead to her demise, but he had no control over the situation.
At that moment, all he could do was wish them the best of luck.
Elisa was unaware of the doctorâs thoughts, nor did she care about them.
She first spent some time conversing with Rachelâs mother, sharing heartfelt thoughts.
Immediately afterward, she arranged for Rachelâs parents to be sent back.
As the elderly couple passed by Rachel, they paused, their eyes filled with deep affection.
Elisa understood the coupleâs longing for their daughter, so she reassured them, âMr. and Mrs. Markee, donât worry. Once Rachel returns to my home and everything is settled, I will come to pick you up. You can visit Rachel frequently and have conversations with her. This will also aid in Rachelâs recovery.â
Catherine tearfully agreed to this arrangement.
Reluctantly, the elderly couple left..
Only Elisa and Vincent remained in the ambulance, returning together to Elisaâs home.
Throughout the journey, the two of them exchanged silent glances.
Vincentâs gaze never wavered from Rachel, perhaps because he couldnât bear to look away.
While he could stay in the hospital and provide daily care and companionship, he no longer had a reason to do so in Elisaâs house..
The car smoothly pulled up to the entrance. As it came to a stop, Elisa looked at Vincent and said, âYouâre welcome to visit her anytime you want. Would you like to come in and sit for a while?â
Snapping back to reality, Vincent shook his head with a bitter smile. âItâs all right. She might not even want me around. Besides, with you there, what do I have to worry about? You go ahead with your work, I wonât go in... See you another day.â
Upon hearing this, Elisa didnât insist any further. After bidding farewell to Vincent, she allowed Garethâs men to carry Rachel inside.
Throughout the journey, Elisa felt somewhat anxious, constantly whispering on the side, âSlow down. Slow down a bit more.
Thereâs no rush.â
Her main concern was not to disturb Rachel.
A guest room at home had been prepared and was ready for Rachelâs occupancy.
The environment there was completely sterile, equipped with oxygen machines and electrocardiograms. It resembled a hospital setting.
Since these were the latest and highest standard equipment, they were actually more precise than anything found in the hospital.
The men were instructed to lay Rachel on the bed. After expressing her gratitude, Elisa saw them out.
Elisa then went back to fetch water to clean Rachelâs body and perform other procedures, such as attaching the electrocardiogram.
Finally, the sterile chamber was opened.
Upon opening the sterile chamber, the atmosphere inside felt different.
Suddenly, it felt as if she was transported back to that cold, sterile hospital.
Elisa spent some time conversing with Rachel, sharing recent events, all in an effort to alleviate her loneliness.
After a lengthy conversation, the sky was almost dark when Elisa reluctantly emerged from the room.
