No Chance Of Remarriage: Get Lost Chapter 116
Honey We Are Not Getting Remarried: Get Away From Me!
Chapter 116 His Patience Running Thin Seeing Gareth walking toward the door, Thomas quickly spoke up, âMr. Wickam, Ms. Benett is here to see you.â
Ms. Benett? Gareth shot him a questioning look, and Thomas understood immediately and specified, âMs. Linda Benett.â
Garethâs obsidian eyes instantly narrowed at the mention of her name. âTell her Iâm not here.â At this point, Gareth had already reached the door to his office, and Thomasâ face visibly paled.
Linda, who got up excitedly upon hearing Garethâs voice, instantly froze when she heard those words behind the door. Her smile stiffened. She mustâve heard him wrong; he was probably referring to those pesky business partners of his who wouldnât leave him alone... right?
Embracing that comforting thought in mind, Thomasâ voice suddenly sounded from outside the door again, âMr. Wickam, Ms.
Benett is already in your office waiting for you.â
Lindaâs heart skipped a beat, as if her expectations were about to be overturned. Even through the tiny gap under the door, she could feel a cold, stagnant air drifting into the room, filling the entire office. Her heart sank to her stomach as she became more flustered. Is the person he doesnât want to see really me?!
As if on cue, the door swung opened and Linda quickly recomposed herself, meeting Garethâs indifferent eyes. She feigned a smile and said, âGarry, youâre back! I came an hour ago, but it was still too late. Otherwise, you couldâve had this porridge before the meeting. Iâll have to make sure to come earlier tomorrow.â She opened the box of porridge she had made for him. âThis is still warm, here tryââ
âIâve already had breakfast. Thereâs no need to send me meals in the future.â Gareth cut her off.
Linda clutched the lunch box tightly, her expression dejected. âGarry, are you worried I wonât be able to make it well? Iâve done it before.â
Irritation twinged in his heart, but he swallowed it when he remembered how she had been comatose because of him. He spoke softly, âIt hasnât been long since youâve recovered. So, you donât have to trouble yourself with such things. Besides, you arenât familiar with my taste.â
Linda breathed a sigh of relief. âItâs alright, Garry. Iâm fine now. You donât have to worry about me.â
âWhy donât you head back first?â Gareth suggested with a forced sense of calmness. âI still have a lot to do, so I wonât be able to spend any time with you today.â
Hearing that, Lindaâs smile faded a little. She opened her mouth to say something, to tell him she wanted to stay by his side. But the words were suppressed by her reason. Her intuition told her that he must be dissatisfied with something she did.
Was it because she entered his office without permission? After all, his office was where all his secrets were contained. It would be easy for her, as part of Benett Group, to dig up dirt on Wickam Group and use that information to her advantage.
Sucking in a breath, she started slowly, âSince youâre busy now, how about we have lunch together at noon?â
âIâve got a business lunch to attend.â Gareth responded matter-of-factly, not bothering to lift his head up from the desk to look at her.
Linda pursed her lips. âWell then, Iâll leave you be for now. Donât push yourself too hard, remember to take rests every now and then.â
Gareth didnât respond, his expression cold and stiff, obviously running thin on patience.
Linda fidgeted with the lunch box in hand, hesitating before placing it on his desk in case he wanted to have a bite later. And hopefully, he would remember the taste of her goodness.
Just like that, she walked out of the office and shut the door behind her. No sooner after that did she hear a loud and cold stern voice.
