Chapter 12

Creatures of the Dark Series

Colette was scared at the thought of accompanying him into the mountains, but she knew she had to keep her cool. Panic wouldn’t help her now. She moved towards the bedroom, her steps slow and steady, careful not to alert Sorin.

Once inside, she locked the door and quickly shoved his dresser against it, piling his nightstands on top for good measure. From the other side of the door, she could hear Sorin calling her name, probably realizing what she was up to.

The doorknob rattled as he tried to open it. “Colette,” he growled, his voice thick with irritation.

She held her breath.

“Enough with the games, Colette. We need to leave.”

Colette was shaking, but she stayed put, confident in her decision. She didn’t respond.

“Colette,” he barked, pounding on the door. “Open up and we can leave without any trouble,” he warned.

When she remained silent, his patience wore thin. “Open the door, woman!”

His harsh words made her flinch, her lips trembling. Finally, she found her voice. “No. I want to go home. I’m not going with you, Sorin. I’m staying here. My sister ~will~ find me, and I will ~never~ see you again.

Her words seemed to anger him. He could easily break down the door, but he didn’t want to scare her.

He also didn’t want her to know just how strong he was. It was better if she didn’t know what he was capable of.

He didn’t want her to be even more afraid of him than she already was.

“This is your ~last~ chance, my love,” he said, his voice smooth. “Open…the door…now,” he said, forcing himself to stay calm.

“No,” she shot back. “I’m not going with you, and I’m not doing what you tell me to. If she never finds me, I’ll starve to death in here. I don’t care,” she said, her voice filled with determination.

All it took for Sorin to get inside was to twist off the doorknob and give a strong push to move the barricade. He entered the room, an aura of darkness surrounding him.

“I told you that you will survive with me, and I don’t repeat myself,” he growled, his dark eyes half-closed, a mix of anger and desire in his gaze.

Colette backed away as fast as she could until she hit the bed and fell onto it. She scrambled across it to the other side of the room, trying to put as much distance between them as possible.

“Don’t—” she began, but the look on his face made her swallow her words. She wasn’t afraid for her life or her physical safety.

He moved towards her. Slowly. So slowly. Like a predator toying with its prey.

“I have some time to spare,” he said, his voice soft and filled with lust.

He lifted his shirt over his head, revealing his now healed chest. His abs flexed as he moved.

“No,” Colette whispered. “Please, don’t hurt me,” she pleaded, raising her arms to shield her face. She was now backed into a corner.

Sorin cornered her, trapping her. “You’re so stubborn until I’m right in front of you,” he murmured, pulling her arms away to look at her face.

Her face was beautiful, smooth and soft, even as she glared at him with her icy blue eyes framed by long, black lashes.

Sorin bent down, nuzzling his face into her neck. She smelled so good, and he loved how she shivered under his touch.

“Do you want to come with me ~willingly~, or do I need to give you a reason?” he purred.

Colette tried to pull away. “What do you want from me? Why can’t you leave me alone?” she cried.

“Because. You’re ~mine~,” he growled, capturing her lips with his.

Despite her resistance, Colette melted into him. Her body molded against his as she gave in to her primal desires. She even let out a small moan, almost making him throw her onto the bed and take her.

He gripped her hips tightly, holding her in place, hoping she’d wrap her arms around his neck like she did the night before, but she didn’t.

She stayed still, everything frozen except her mouth. Her soft, warm mouth. He’d lost count of how many times he’d fantasized about sliding his cock between her plush lips, into the wet warmth of her mouth.

Sorin explored Colette’s mouth thoroughly. It was small and delicate, just like her. But all he could think about was thrusting his cock into her throat, feeling her moans vibrate against him.

He liked a bit of teeth, scraping along his length. Colette’s teeth were straight and white. He imagined them marking him, claiming him as hers for everyone to see.

Colette whimpered against his lips and tried to pull away. She’d had enough, but Sorin wasn’t done yet. He needed more. His wolf was hungry for her. Hungrier than he’d ever been before.

He just needed to satisfy the beast a little more. If not, there was no telling what would happen, how long she’d have before he’d be buried deep within her. He needed to do this for her, even if she didn’t realize it.

Sorin finally pulled away, panting heavily. He rested his forehead against the wall above her shoulder, shivering with pleasure.

He’d never imagined that just kissing his mate would be so intense. It was beyond any other sexual experience he’d ever had. Even sex with Ylenia, one of the few she-wolves in his pack.

Colette started crying again, scared of being Sorin’s toy. He seemed determined to keep her and couldn’t let a day go by without kissing her.

“I won’t go with you, Sorin,” she sobbed, shaking her head vehemently.

“You will,” he murmured back.

“I’m not going to,” she shot back. “I’ll resist you at every turn. I’ll scream my lungs out. I’ll turn your life into a nightmare,” she warned, her eyes blazing as she looked up at him.

“Just let me go home. I don’t mind getting lost. You don’t need to guide me. Just let me leave,” she spat out.

He simply shook his head in a slow, deliberate motion. “No.”

“Yes. We’ll go our separate ways and act like we never crossed paths,” she proposed hastily. “I won’t breathe a word about what I’ve witnessed.”

Again, he shook his head, his patience clearly running low. “No.”

“Yes. Let me leave. I swear to you I won’t give in. I’ll go hungry. I’ll seize any opportunity to escape. I won’t make this easy for you,” she forced out, pressing herself as far into the corner as possible, trying to create as much distance between them as she could.

He looked down at her, his brow furrowed as if he had anticipated her words but still didn’t appreciate hearing them. “That’s a shame, Colette. I really hoped you’d come with me willingly, but if you won’t…so be it.” Sorin reached around her neck, squeezing it tightly.

Darkness flickered at the edges of Colette’s vision, a wave of dizziness washing over her as her legs buckled. She collapsed, unconscious, into Sorin’s waiting arms.
