Chapter 23-Amara

I wake up to Roman’s alarm, groaning when I realize I have to get up with him too. Today was my first day working in his office, and Gamma Max will be waiting for me to show me what to do. It’s just scanning and filing, so hopefully he doesn’t need to stick around too long. I liked Gamma Max, but I did not want to be around anyone today. I even thought about going back over to my room, but I would just miss Roman anyways, considering I haven’t spent a night on this territory without him since the first day.

I was shocked when he told me he was part demon, but it made me feel better about my own possible demon genes. Now that I had time to think about it and accept it, it really wasn’t that bad. I don’t know who or where in my family the genes came from, but I was relieved to hear it could skip generations, I was worried my mom had cheated on my dad or something. But she wouldn’t do that, so it must have just skipped a couple of us.

“You can come to the office a little later if you want to sleep in, I’ll tell Max to come back” Roman says in his sexy as hell morning voice. Hmmm, tempting. But I’m already awake and the sooner I get started the sooner I finish for the day.

“No, I’ll come. Just don’t expect me to be able to hold a conversation. And get me coffee. Lots of coffee” I say, willing myself to get out of bed as he chuckles. I haven’t heard from Tamisra since I found out what we were, she wasn’t upset, I think she was just trying to understand it, like me. She hasn’t blocked me off or anything.

The paperwork is pretty boring, but I’ve at least got Roman to talk to. I didn’t realize how much paperwork came with being an Alpha. How the hell does he do all that and then still make it out to socialize with his pack? He offers for me to come when he goes to check on training from time to time, but I decline. I know I should get to know the pack more, but I’m feeling antisocial. I haven’t even mind linked Seth to let him know what we found out, but I know I need to let him and Sophie know. Sighing, I take out my phone and hit facetime on Sophie’s contact. It’s only 3:00 and I know unless she’s with the other pack females, she’s probably alone. She answers on the third ring. I smile when I see her perfect face in the camera, Goddess I miss her! I wish I could hug her.

“Amara! I’ve been dying waiting for you to call! What happened?” she says, I can see her living room wall in the background, showing she’s home.

“No one is with you right Soph?” I say hesitantly

“Of course not, Colton won’t be home for another two hours and then I’m going out with some of the girls. Janice found her mate so we’re celebrating. I wish you were here” she says

“You know I would be miserable going out anyways! I always cling to you like a lost pup” I say laughing

“Yeah yeah whatever, now spill. What did the witch say?” she says, cutting right to the chase

“Well, she couldn’t break the barrier or whatever but she and the Alpha think I’m a demon. I guess my eyes turned black during the ritual and the Alpha said what happened with the rogues sounds like demon’s magic. He also said it can skip a couple of generations so there’s probably demon blood in my family somewhere. He knows a shit ton of things about all the supernaturals” I say and her eyes go wide and her jaw drops

“Damn. Well, I was not expecting that. Did you tell Seth? Maybe he’s had signs of it too. I don’t know how that stuff works but I can’t believe your parents didn’t tell you. Also, why was your Alpha there?” she says quickly, she always talks so quickly when she’s excited. I smile, she has so many funny quirks about her.

“No, I haven’t told Seth yet. I’m sure my parents meant to tell me at some point but never got around to it before they died. I don’t think Seth has shown any signs, I’m sure he would have told me as soon as I told him what’s going on with me but I’ll ask him when I see him” I avoid her question about Roman.

“Are you sure they didn’t leave you any letters or anything? Did you look through their house?” she muses

“Actually I found a birthday card when I was camping out there the night I left. Maybe there’s something in that.” I suddenly remembered. Guess it’s time for me to read that. Soon though, as soon as she said that a feeling of dread settled in the pit of my stomach.

“I bet that’s it! So how are you liking the pack? And you never answered why your Alpha went with you to that ritual? Is he really that nosy about all his pack members? ″ she asks and when I feel my cheeks tinge pink, I know I’ve given myself away. Her eyes go even wider than when I told her about my possible but likely demon genes

“SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! Amara, are you fucking him? You better speak right the fuck now or I will show up at that border and harrass you until you tell me!” she practically screams

“Ahhh god my ears! Simmer down. Fine. Yes I’m boning him” I bite my lip and smile, I can feel my cheeks burning even more “Soph, I really like him. He’s so sweet, and he treats me like a queen. You know last night he bathed me and put all of my lotion on just because I was sad? He said he’s never been in a relationship before and Seth confirmed it. I think I’m falling hard for him.”

“No shit?”

“No shit. I didn’t plan on being in a relationship, well, ever. I was just going to wait for my actual mate but I couldn’t help it. And he’s actually a really good Alpha too. He knows all of his pack members by name and makes sure he’s involved in their lives. He’s nothing like the monster the allies portrayed him to be. I mean, at least not with me or with his pack. He’s kind of a big teddy bear actually. The man loves to snuggle.” I giggle

“Ha! The big scary Alpha loves his cuddles. That’s hysterical. Could you imagine any of the Alpha’s from the allies being snuggle bugs? That’s so weird” Sophie says cracking up, she has me laughing too, This is why she’s my best friend. I just told her I have a whole other identity and here we are laughing about cuddly Alphas.

“How have you been Soph? How’s the pack and Colton?” I say, wiping away my laugh tears after we pull ourselves together. Just then, Roman walks in the room and comes over to kiss me. I know he saw I’m on facetime but he’s apparently showing off because he makes sure to use some tongue. When he pulls away I know I’m flushed and he can probably smell me.

“Oh my god that was hot! Let me see him, is he hot? How’s the sex? Oh, everyone else always talks about how well hung Alphas are, is it true?” Sophie fires question after question at me and I glance up at Roman who is smiling at me

“Yes, I’m curious too, Amara” he says and I glare at him

“Oh his voice is sexy! Girl if you don’t let me see this man! Stop being selfish! Let me see!” Sophie yells. I roll my eyes and go sit on his lap, grabbing his face and pulling it into the frame with me

“Oh! I can’t forget to show you the man bun!” I say as I force his head to turn, showing his bun

“Damn if I wasn’t already mated I’d suggest a three some. Maybe Colton would agree if he could join. Hmmmm” I gag at the idea of Colton touching me.

“What are you gagging at? Don't forget about that time you made out with me on a dare, and then we had to do 7 minutes in Heaven!” she says, acting offended and I feel my face turn bright red as I look at Roman whose jaw is practically sitting on the desk

“Oops did he not know that? My bad. Don’t worry Mr. Alpha I’m marked and mated! Although if I wasn’t I would definitely steal Amara from you.” Sophie winks

“OKAY! We’re done here. You’ve officially said too much. Love you bye!” I say

“Love you too, Mara! I’ll call you whenever I can to embarrass you more! Oh I bet he doesn’t know the honey mu-“ I hang up before she can say more. Ugh now he’s going to ask about that!

“What don’t I know now?” he says. I can see him trying to hold back laughter. I’m going to beat her senseless!

“I don’t know she didn’t finish” I lie

Roman leans in “Lie.” he says

I hop up and go back to my desk, putting my stuff away

“Sorry, Alpha, I have things to do! My work day is over” I say as I run out of the office

Now I’m going to have to tell him that damn story eventually. When we were 16, we drank way too much and then smoked a little weed. Since we didn’t have our wolves yet, it didn’t take a lot to get us high and drunk so we walked out to a restaurant and I ordered chicken tenders with like, 8 cups of honey mustard. Then my stoned ass ate all of the honey mustard and I was throwing up pure honey mustard for almost 3 hours. Ugh! I am not telling him that! I’m gonna get back at Sophie for this!

I guess I should go find Seth and let him know, or I could do that tomorrow. I should really probably try and make friends with my sister in law. I’ve hung out with Violet a couple times since she drug me to the shops, and since me and Gemma are fucking each other’s brothers I guess it only makes sense that we should be friends.

Talking to Sophie actually put me in a better mood. Feeling a little brave, I go out to training where I know Seth is and I see Gemma and Violet sitting on the bench. Probably waiting for him to be done, Gemma at least is. When Violet sees me, her and Gemma wave me over.

“Hey Amara! Come sit. We’re just waiting for Seth. He’s taking us out for day drinking if you want to come.” Gemma says smiling at me, I have always liked her.

“I’m in! I need to run away from your brother anyways.” I said facepalming myself

“Why? What did that big mean bully do to you? I’ll beat him!” Violet says making me laugh but somehow I think she would definitely kick his ass.

“My best friend started spilling some of my embarrassing stories but I hung up before she could finish. Now he wants to know what happened”

“Girl, tell him, for every one you have, there’s two he has! I lived to make his life miserable. Don’t worry, I got your back” Violet says mischievously.

“Noted. So when are we going out? I want to get ready before we go!”

“Well, Seth’s smelly ass will need to shower, so once he’s done with training in 15 minutes, you can come to Violet’s room! Can we all get ready together?” Gemma suggests

“Okay!” I say, feeling excited. We keep talking while we wait for Seth, just about completely random things. They both scrunch their noses any time I talk about Roman, which I find hysterical. Sophie would love both of them. I wonder if I can get her to visit? It would have to be a long time from now, but I hope it can happen.

Finally Seth walks over and we start to head for Violet’s room. I can tell he wants to ask me about yesterday, but I just send him a mindlink saying I’ll tell him tomorrow. He doesn’t seem impressed, but doesn’t push me.

“Amara, let me do your makeup pretty please! I’m dying to get my hands on those brows.” Gemma says when we get to Violet’s room. I pout at this

“Hey! Leave my caterpillars alone! I haven’t had time to get them threaded since I’ve been here!” I say, pretending to be hurt but yeah she was right. The girls needed to be tamed, badly.

“I know how to thread! Let me at ’em!” she says back

“Fine, fine. It saves me a trip anyways.”

“The bar we’re going to is on neutral territory, I hope my mate is there!” Violet says while Gemma sits me down on a chair and starts pulling out thread

“You don’t think he’s from this pack?” I ask her

“I know everyone in the pack, and it’ll be her. I like girls” Violet says

“I guess you do know everyone. I thought Roman didn’t trust any other territory?” I ask

“Normally he doesn’t, but I guess he’s been working on a treaty with the Amber Sky pack so he said we can go to the city in the neutral territory, but he hasn’t officially announced it to the rest of the pack yet.”

“Oh! He didn’t tell me.” I say

“Stop talking! I need to concentrate on this!” Gemma scolds me and I shut up

“Oh! Amara I have the perfect dress for you. Let me go find it.” Violet says and runs into her closet.

Gemma finishes up my eyebrows and I put some music on while we get ready. I let her do the rest of my makeup and I gotta say, I know my way around some makeup but she made me look hot! I’ll have to stop by Roman’s office before we leave to flaunt my pretty little self at him.

When we’re ready to get changed, we all strip and Violet brings me the dress she picked out for me.

“Damn Amara! I can see why my brother is so smitten with you, look at that ass girl! You’re hot.” Violet says as she smacks my ass and I yelp but start laughing. I’m already having so much fun and we haven’t even hit the club yet. I smile, I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun with anyone other than Sophie, actually.

The dress Violet grabs for me is a red backless bodycon with a deep v-line. It barely holds my boobs in and I’m sure my labia are hanging out but I have to admit, I look good.

Gemma and Violet aren’t dressed any less slutty than I am though. Gemma’s dirty blonde hair is pulled up with a few hairs framing her face, her dress is light purple and strapless and she’s got white strappy heels on. Violet let her wavy chestnut hair free, her midnight blue dress is backless like mine but it has one off the shoulder strap and she is wearing a pair of black flats. They both look sexy as hell too!

“Seth is in Roman’s office so let’s walk down. Then you can let him know that we’re stealing you for the night” Violet winks at me and I smirk at her. Before we walk out however I make them pause, and I slip my underwear off and throw them in the small purse Violet let me borrow for the night. Violet fakes a gag while Gemma scrunches her nose and I just laugh at them. Wait until they smell the sex we’re about to have all over me!

When we get down to Roman’s office, Violet doesn’t even knock on his door. He, Seth, and Aston are all in there and the girls walk in ahead of me. I follow them in and I go to say that I’m going out, but I don’t get the chance because as soon as he sees me he lets out a feral growl that bounces off the walls.

“Everyone out. Now. She’ll meet you in the car” he says, an Alpha Command rolling into his words and I hear everyone start laughing as they walk out, but my eyes are locked with his His pupils are dilated almost covering his irises completely and I already feel my core clenching.

I timidly walk up to his desk as he lets out another growl, and when I’m in arms reach he grabs me by my hips and sets me on the desk, his lips instantly crashing against mine. His hands pull my dress up to my hips, when he realizes I’m not wearing any underwear he breaks the kiss and looks down at my bare pussy on his desk.

“Who said you could go out dressed like this with no underwear?” he whispers angrily before sucking on my neck

I walk up to him and give him a long passionate kiss before I tell him I’ll be home later tonight and walk out to the car. I feel his gaze burn into my back until I’m completely out of view.
