“Yeah. I saw him.” Madeline nodded affirmatively as a hot tear ran down from the corner of her eye.

“He’s still alive. Mom, he’s alive. He didn’t leave me.”

When she said this, Madeline’s eyes lit up. There was an indescribable sense of excitement in her heart.
