Chapter 325 Despise Woman

“Who knows, but there is a saying that “Money talks.”

“Is she short of money? I can’t believe that you know, she is the Polly!”

“Well, I’m just saying. But her intention is as plain as the nose on your face. The reason she works so

hard is that she wants to earn a good reputation in our company.”

A faint sneer of satisfaction crossed Kelly’s face while people were all exchanging their ideas under their

breath. Clearly, she was satisfied with the card up her sleeve. So what if Nova had prepared well

beforehand for the party? She would never anticipate the advent of Payne Lloyd.

It was also against Kelly’s expectation that Payne agreed to come readily when she mentioned that the

party was held for Nova.

But still, Nova should know what a thing Payne held to her.

Nova must suffer the consequence of her actions provoked her.

As mentioned before, Nova was the last one coming and there was no free seat beside the one next to

Nova. Such a coincidence. Kelly’s designs did not go unnoticed by Nova. But Nova just laughed it off

casually.

How could she go to the battle naked?

Actually, Kelly was the one in the dark because Nova had already guessed what was Kelly’s trump

In this case, how could she be caught off guard by Kelly?

But, there was still a trace of doubt in Nova’s heart.

Why Payne behaved so well today?

Kelly’s voice sounded while she was lost in her thoughts. “Mr. Lloyd, there you are! I’m glad to see that

you’ve decided to honor us with your presence! Just take your seat and help yourself!”

“It’s very kind of you, Miss Bush. I’m very happy to be here with you to celebrate Nova!” Payne laughed

out loud at Kelly’s words. However, his words seemed to mean something ambiguous to other people,

most of which then ducked their heads to trade looks by tacit knowledge. “See? That’s it.”

Quite honestly, what Payne said was exactly what he thought deep in his heart as someone’s menacing

words were still hovering in his

mind and chilling to his blood.

“You would be screwed if you dare to tarnish Nova’s name with those indecent and filthy things. You can

try.”

The very thought of those words brought him out in a cold sweat. Payne hastened to bow low when he

caught sight of Nova.

“Miss Nova, It’s a great honor for me to join you today. I would like to express my gratitude to you to

teach me a lesson last time and to promote the development of my company with the case. I owe you a

great debt of gratitude! You can turn to me for help whenever you have any difficulty. I’ll try my best to

help you! Miss Nova, you have my words and you always count on me for help.”

Kelly anticipated anything but this.

His words puzzled all the people around them including Kelly.

What? What’s going on?

That’s quite different than what they have imagined…

Isn’t he supposed to come on to Nova out of habit?

Why does he behave like a gentleman today?

Nova was rendered speechless by his words.

What’s wrong with him today?

Even though she had primed Payne in advance, she still didn’t bargain on him being so respectful of her.

There must be something wrong with him here.

Payne’s initial attitude toward her last time was bad, thus it could be seen that he feared less about her

and her status, so there must be someone else who is powerful enough to him asked him to do so!

Otherwise, how could such a filthy man who gets used to despising women be so subservient and servile

to her in front of so many people?

Nova mulled it over but she didn’t figure it out, hence she nodded a greeting back.

Just then, Kelly opened her mouth. “Mr. Lloyd, you are too modest! In terms of seniority and age, Nova is

the one who should pay her gratitude and respect to you since you are exceptionally generous to her.”

She was warning Payne, obviously, telling him what should he do here. But Payne seemed to be riled by

her words, or something else somehow.

With a brief nod, he ducked his head to hide the anger in his eyes.
