Chapter 254 Not Your Problem

Kelly was enlightened and thumbed up at Sabina. “Mom, you aren’t my mom for nothing!

Experience always counts!”

Sabina chuckled. “Alright. You keep up this way in the hospital. Are you clear about the degree to which

you should have when facing Henry?”

Kelly took a deep breath and nodded seriously. “Mom, don’t worry. I won’t be as stupid as before. I will

seize the opportunity and marry him in two months!”

“Good. I have things to attend to and I must leave. Let your assistant be with you.”

“Okay.”

Then, Sabina left. The assistant waiting outside came in after Sabina came out. The assistant looked at

Kelly and said respectfully, “Miss Bush, is there anything I can do for you?” Kelly smiled. “No. Go rest

yourself. I’ll call you if I need you.”

“Okay.”

For three days, Henry would visit Kelly after work at night. Henry’s visit made Kelly feel good. She kept

an appropriate attitude towards Henry, without deliberately approaching him or alienating him. She

treated him gracefully and naturally, like a friend who wouldn’t press him too hard for anything. Her way

of communication also made Henry feel easier.

Now, Henry sat at her bedside again and said, “How are you feeling today?”

Kelly smiled. “I’m fine. I think I could be discharged in two or three days. My leg is injured this time. Other

parts feel good.”

Henry frowned slightly. “Be serious.”

Kelly chuckled. As she knew that Henry wanted her to take more time to recover, she directly had thrown

back the quilt and showed her leg that was wrapped in bandages. Henry’s expression changed and

again felt extremely guilty.

Kelly again chuckled. But she said calmly. “You want me to get out of bed and have a walk to

show you how I have recovered?”

“Don’t move.”

Henry immediately grabbed her arm to stop her.

Kelly shuddered. It had been a long time since their last physical contact.

But Kelly soon regained her composure and insisted regardless of Henry’s dissuasion. “My mother said

the same thing. But I know my body. More than that, medicine is so advanced nowadays. I have

recovered.”

well.”

“Someone’s got your back. Don’t worry.” Henry said calmly. He looked at Kelly’s pale face for seconds

and looked away as if he would only feel more guilty when he saw her face.

“I know. But that’s my job, my responsibility. Of course, I need to be responsible. Henry, I know you’re

feeling bad about me. But it has nothing to do with you. It was my problem.”

Kelly said sincerely. She seemed to be apologizing. But Henry moved his gaze away. “It’s not your

problem.”

Kelly saw hope. She looked at Henry and said softly, “Henry… about what happened at grandma’s

birthday party, I…”

She lowered her head and seemed to have lost all words to explain herself. However, what she

had uttered had been enough to soften Henry.

Henry didn’t want to upset Kelly anymore. After hesitation, he finally said, “I know.”

He believed that, more or less, Nova must have induced Kelly to prepare a such gift.

He didn’t hold Nova responsible for what Nova did as he knew that Nova wanted Mabel to get

Kelly looked at Henry with a surprised look. “Henry, you know…”

He rarely spoke with such tenderness. Through a mist of tears, Kelly said, “Henry, as long as you believe

in me.”

Henry heaved another sigh. “Kelly, don’t cry.”

Kelly hurriedly raised his head and forced back her tears. “Okay. For now, I don’t want to make

too many explanations. I don’t want to bring a bad influence on Nova. But I really don’t want you to think

me a hypocritical woman. Henry, as long as you believe me. I don’t care what others say.

But don’t get mad at Nova. She was just being stubborn.”

Henry pressed his lips and didn’t answer.

But Kelly didn’t know that Henry wouldn’t blame Nova even if he knew the truth.
