Chapter 248 Lion or Deadline

Nova frowned.

However, Chester’s heart was pounding fast. Though she held his arms at the party, he didn’t really

touch her as he wore a suit.

When he felt the woman’s soft and fair wrist, he felt a strong pulse.

His heart should be pounding fast as he had never really touched a woman he loved.

Nova was displeased. “Mr. Don.”

Though she didn’t continue, she had made herself clear.

But Chester didn’t loosen his grip. He looked away in fluster and fear to meet her eyes. “Let me give you

a lift.”

Then, he let go of her wrist and locked the car door as he started the engine.

He seemed to be doing every move with the facility, but only he himself knew how still his body was.

Nova didn’t know his nervousness. She just said softly, “Will you picking me up become the top hit on the

Twitter?”

“No,” Chester answered without thinking.

Nova looked at him in surprise, but she didn’t say anything.

Chester said softly, “I can understand that you have a bad impression of me, and I know it’s reasonable.

But Nova, there is a saying, time reveals a man’s heart.”

“There is also another saying, it’s hard to predict heart.” Nova didn’t hesitate to refute. Seeing that

Chester finally frowned, she smiled. “Mr. Don. We don’t know each other well enough. And we couldn’t

possibly develop an intimate friendship. But, if you need a lawyer and I am free, I could help you as long

as helping you doesn’t violate my moral code. However, I still hope Mr. Don could stop disturbing my

private life. Problems would be caused.”

Chester just smiled. “Then, I won’t be at your side as Chester Don.”

Nova didn’t continue the topic at last and Chester didn’t bring up the topic either. He was a man who

When they arrived at Nova’s law office, Chester looked at her with ease. “Nova, you didn’t drive your car.

I’ll pick you up after you finish your work tonight. I can send my chauffeur if you don’t like me coming.”

Nova didn’t hesitate to refuse. “Stella could give me a lift on her way home.”

Chester heaved a sigh. “Alright then. See you later.”

Nova pressed her lips and wanted to say “See you never.” But she didn’t say it as she knew that it would

be useless.

She got off the car and went directly into her office.

Leonard and the others remained silent when they saw Nova pulling a long face.

Eudora blinked and said incredulously, “Is it because of what happened yesterday? That she pulls a long

face?”

“No one would be happy after Old Mr. King said such things to her.” Leonard cast Eudora a glance.

“Hurry, get to work before the boss gets so angry and fires you.”

“Hum! You think the boss is as petty as you are?” Retorted Eudora bluntly as she was still mad at

Leonard.

Leonard was amused. “I am petty? You know what my name Leonard means? It is Lion. Always be regal

and strong as a lion.”

“I think you are always finishing your work before the deadline.”

As they were talking and laughing, Nova entered her office. Stella had been there for a while. As she

turned around and saw Nova, she felt that Nova was not her usual self.
