Chapter 147
I'm Sorry My Love Novel
Chapter 148 I Wonât Hurt You for Now
Sienna did not answer the question, and she left.
Leanna held her new phone and heaved a sigh. She went to the backdoor with the men and looked at
the car not far from her before she said, âGive me a minute. I donât feel too good.â
One of the men turned around and told her coolly, âWeâre here to help, Miss McKinney. Donât try to pull
anything funny.â
Leanna bit her lip. âI wonât. I mean, look at me. Iâm pregnant. What can I even do? You know how
pregnant women are. Lifeâs a hassle for us. I canât help it.â
âWhat do you want?â
âIâ¦â Leanna looked around and pointed at the patch of wild bushes nearby. âI need to relieve myself.
Can you give me a few minutes?â
The man looked a little impatient, and he was reluctant to let her go.
Leanna grumbled, âLook at me! Do you think I can escape? Besides, Iâm pregnant with the Pearsonsâ
kid. Iâm not some sort of criminal. Treat me like one and Iâll tell Mrs. Pearson about this.â
The man was about to say something, but his friend stopped him. He told Leanna, âGo. Weâll wait for
you.â
âThank you.â She slowly went to the bushes.
After she was gone, the man who spoke first complained, âCan you not waste our time?â
His friend replied, âThis is the only road around this place. Even if she tries to run, she canât make it too
far. I mean, her bellyâs too big for her to even run. Nothingâs gonna happen. Relax.â
The man looked upset, but he said nothing. He looked at the time. Leanna was still not back ten
minutes later, and he had a feeling something was wrong. He went to the bushes, but before he could
check on her, she said, âStop right there! Donât come any closer!â
The man stopped. âAre you done yet, Miss McKinney?
Leanna said, âI told you pregnancy is a hassle. Youâll get it when youâre married.â Ten minutes later, the
man asked, âMiss McKinney?â Nobody answered him this time. He knew something was wrong, so he
went and checked on her, but she was nowhere to be seen. All that was left was the phone Sienna
gave her. The man scrolled through the phone. When he saw its call history, he realized that Leanna
was talking to him through the phone. He cursed and turned around. âSheâs gone! After her!â Leanna
came out after they were gone for some time. She held her waist and heaved a sigh. Theyâre finally
gone. She asked Zoe to help her out before. This was the only main road behind Pearson Groupâs
building, but there was an alleyway beside it. Leanna just had to keep walking this path for about half
an hour, and she would reach the main road on the other side. She did not make it too far when she felt
something sharp held against her throat. Someone said coldly, âDonât move.â She stopped moving.
Leanna could see that the guy was a ruthless one. The dagger was absurdly sharp, and she felt a
sliver of pain coming from her neck. The man tossed a piece of cloth to her. âCover your eyes.â Leanna
did as she was told, and the man held her hands behind her. He tied them up and pushed her shoulder.
âWalk.â They came to a black car. The man opened the door and stuffed her inside. He said, âI wonât
hurt you for now, but only if you work with me.â He then went to the driverâs seat. She felt the car sway.
Heâs probably driving. A while later, she asked, âHave you been waiting for me? Is this your car?â
The man ignored her.
âWhat would you do if I hadnât distracted them? Can you take on all of them?â She stopped for a
moment, then she chuckled. âI think you can. Youâre a lot more ruthless than they are.â The man was
silent for a moment, then he said, âSo, you know who I am?â Leanna said, âI remember your voice.â
She continued coolly, âYou always show up when I need it most. I get used to things like that.â Ron kept
quiet and set his sights ahead. The group of pursuers reappeared not long after Ron left. They heard
the commotion, and what they saw shocked them. They were about to stop the car, but Ron floored the
accelerator and sent two of them flying. She could not see anything, as she was blindfolded. All she
could feel was the car rumbling violently, and it felt like they crashed into something. She held back the
urge to vomit and moved herself somewhere safe. A few minutes later, they came to the mountainside,
and there were three cars there. He said, âTheyâre probably your rescuers.â
Leanna was silent for a moment, and she smiled. âProbably.â
Ron stepped on the accelerator without hesitation. The Pearson guys did not stop him as they were
worried about Leanna. They made way for Ron the moment he sped up, and Ronâs car disappeared
into the night.
Jonathan got out of his car, looking dejected. He called Aidan, âSir, someone took the madam. Weâ¦
couldnât stop him.â
â¦
Aidan was in the residence when Jonathan called him. He hung up and tried to leave, looking all dark.
Georgina put her glass of champagne down and went over to him. âWhere are you going, Aidan?â
Aidan ignored her question and picked up his pace.
âAidan!â Georgina followed him out of the hall and held his arm. âThis is the first time weâre attending a
public event since our engagement. You canât leave me alone just like this.â
Aidan turned back. âIâve agreed to your terms. Why do you care so much?â
âBut Old Mr. Pearson is going to suspect something if you leave now. Your efforts will be for nothing.
Miss McKinney will be fine. Trust me. Iâll help with the search after this.â
Aidan pulled his arm out. He told her, his voice as icy as the Arctic air, âSheâs not the only reason for
everything Iâm doing, but if something were to happen to her, someone will have to pay.â
He flung her away. Georgina could only watch as he left the place.
Gordon was chatting with his guests when his underling told him about the news of Leannaâs
kidnapping. He froze up for a moment and told his underling what to do. Sienna got the news as well,
but she looked calm, as if she did not care about this at all.
