Chapter 140
I'm Sorry My Love Novel
Chapter 140 Multitasking
Just as Sienna was about to continue, Gordon interrupted unhappily, âAlright now, is this farce over?
Canât we even eat in peace?â
Those at the table finally quietened down.
After dinner, Sienna and Gordon left while Leanna stood up as she wanted to return to her room when
Georgina blocked her path.
Standing in front of her, Georgina smiled subtly. âMiss McKinney, how are you considering my proposal
from this afternoon?â
Leanna replied, âThank you for your gesture, Miss Crossley, but I think I wonât be going.â
âAre you worried that Mr Pearson wonât let you go? Or are you worried about Anna? Iââ
âMiss Crossley,â Leanna cut her off. âA wedding is a very important event with a lot of things that need
preparation. If I go, I might just be wasting your time.â
Georgina paused before showing an apologetic expression. âIâm sorry. I didnât mean to say those words
during the meal. Itâs just becauseââ
âYou donât need to apologize to me, Miss Crossley. I donât think you did anything wrong to me.â While
saying this, Leanna suddenly felt tired and at a loss for words, so she softly stated, âI only want to rest
now. Again, it should be me who should be apologizing to you for ruining your mood, Miss Crossley.â
Then, she nodded apologetically toward Georgina and went upstairs.
Leanna stood at the window for a while after returning to her room, only to sit down with a sigh of relief
after seeing the black sedan slowly drive away.
Then, someone knocked on her door after some time.
She composed herself before walking toward the door.
Opening the door, she saw Aidan standing in front of it with his hands in his pockets and a cold gaze.
Leanna was a bit shocked at this.
Yet, she still shut the door without a shred of hesitation.
The moment she did that, Aidan reached out and blocked the door, looking at her with a dissatisfied
gaze.
She could only ask him politely, âIs there anything, President Pearson?â
Retracting his hand back into his pocket, he replied, âI saw that you werenât eating much, so I had the
chefs whip up some more food. Theyâll send it up later.â
âOh, thank you, President Pearson,â said Leanna and closed the door again.
Aidan looked coldly at her without speaking. Then, he asked, âIs this how youâre going to act?â
Pursing her lips, she replied, âThank you for your goodwill, President Pearson. I will be sure to savor
the meal.â
Since she was not full from lunch, she accepted his gesture.
Aidan, who kept his gaze on her, questioned after a few seconds, âWhy are you in such a terrible
mood?â
Leanna felt confused by his question. How am I angry in his eyes?
Taking a deep breath, she replied, âI think youâre mistaken, President Pearson. Since youâre going to be
married soon, you shouldnât just appear in front of your ex-wifeâs room and talk to her like this. If your
fiancée gets wind of this, I think sheâll be very upset.â
He was still emotionless when he asked, âIs it that youâll be upset? Or sheâll be upset?â
Leanna only thought that she could not communicate any further with this man. Why is this b*stard
being so persistent? The weddingâs date has already been decided and the fiancée has even visited
him, yet he still intends to cheat on her.
Yet, it was just that this time around, it was her becoming the mistress.
The more she thought about it, the more irritated she became. Then, she exclaimed furiously,
âPresident Pearson, what precisely do you want to say? If thereâs nothing, Iâm going back to rest.â
Aidan only looked at her in silence.
As Leanna was about to close the door, he finally asked, âWhat are you planning to do if I really marry
Georgina?â
After a pause, she replied, âAnything goes except for me giving you something as congratulations.â
She then emphasized, âIâm poor.â
Hearing such an unexpected answer made Aidan laugh dryly before he turned around and left for his
room, slamming his door hard.
Leanna, who was still standing on the same spot, could feel the shockwave traveling to her. I havenât
even closed my door yet, but the b*stard had already closed his.
Lying on the bed, she felt frustrated and confused. Asking me what to do? What can I say? Tell him not
to go through with the wedding? Will he even listen? That b*stard only knows how to say ambiguous
sentences, but when I think that he might have feelings for me, heâll just say that Iâm overthinking it and
being delusional. Saying stuff like I didnât eat much. He sure is observant. On one hand, he was
discussing with his fiancée about the wedding, and on the other hand, he was observing whether his
ex-wife was eating or not. How can there be such a detestable man like Aidan?
â¦
On the other side, Justin, who probably heard the commotion, went to find his brother.
When Aidan opened the door, the smell of cigarettes still lingered in his room.
Wheeling himself inside, Justin smiled helplessly. âDid you argue with Leanna again?â
Aidan sat on the couch before putting out his cigarette in the ashtray filled with water while saying,
âHow can I win against her when she has such a sharp tongue?â
âLeanna has been staying here for one week now. Even though she isnât saying anything, I can still feel
her loneliness. Since you came, she looks more upbeat now,â stated Justin. âBut youâre not without
fault. Leanna is pregnant now, so why do you keep making her angry?â
Pursing his lips, Aidan replied, âI didnât make her angry.â
From the start of the meal, he saw that Leanna had kept her head lowered with an upset expression,
which made him want to explain the matters of the wedding to her. Who knew that heartless woman
would react like she had eaten a dynamite? What a horrible attitude.
Justin continued, âNo matter what, this is the toughest time. Especially for Leanna. Not only is she
pregnant with your child, you and Georgina even discussed the wedding openly in front of her. Anyone
would feel bad after that.â
Aidan replied after a moment of silence, âThis is something that she canât avoid.â
âAidan.â Justin continued, âIn fact, there are many other ways to say the same thing; you donât have to
be so cruel.â
Aidan stated, âThe truth is cruel. If everything is as ideal as she thinks, then sheâll never know how
much suffering others are going through compared to her situation.â
Sighing helplessly at this, Justin said, âAidan, you think things are going too far. In reality, Dad only
wants Leannaâs child because he wants the bloodline within the family.â
Aidan, who did not deny his claims, smiled subtly. âWhat he wants is another puppet who submits to
him and is controlled by him, but itâs just that this puppet must have the blood of the Pearsons.â
Prominent families like the Pearsons placed paramount importance on bloodline. Otherwise, they
would not have picked him, the illegitimate child, up in the first place.
